Learning about ourselves Jill Freear THE UNITING FOUNDATION has granted funding to enable all Uniting Church SA congregations to take part fully in this year’s NCLS (National Church Life Survey). NCLS Research director Keith Castle was in SA last month to brief church people on the 2006 survey and the benefits of participating. “The survey looks at more than just attendance,” he said. “It also considers ways of keeping congregations healthy and vital. “Participating congregations will receive resources to help them assess and appreciate their core qualities.” Uniting Church SA mission planner Rev Rob Stoner said the survey will provide data on which congregations can base their forward mission planning. “We expect that all local Uniting Church congregations will be involved. “Thanks to a $37,500 Uniting Foundation grant the MRN (Mission Resourcing Network) will be able to assist and coach congregations to ensure they get the most out of survey results. The NCLS will be carried out in local Uniting Church congregations in November. See inside for more news on the latest Uniting Foundation grants.
