The Shepherd’s Fund
United is pleased to have recently partnered with The Shepherd’s Fund to serve and bless retired alumni/ae and their spouses by providing financial assistance when a medical or other crisis creates a hardship.
The Shepherd’s Fund was founded with the vision of helping those who have faithfully served Christ and the Church when health issues impact their ability to pay their medical bills or household expenses.
Through this fund, United alumni/ae and their spouses may qualify for a one-time assistance grant of up to $10,000 each in a calendar year. They may also be eligible to receive the grant in subsequent years, especially in the event of chronic, ongoing medical conditions.
The following United graduates and their spouses are eligible to apply for an assistance grant from The Shepherd’s Fund:
• Retired pastors and spouses of any denominational affiliation
• Surviving spouses of retired pastors
• Pastors with disabilities who are unable to perform ministerial duties, but not yet of retirement age
• Retired pastors and spouses who are legal guardians of adult children with a disability
• Retired pastors who are legal guardians for their grandchildren who may have a disability or medical condition, regardless of age
So far, this fund has been an answer to prayer for several United alumni/ae. Our hope is that it will be a blessing to many more faithful leaders who have blessed so many in the faith.
