UPM practices the semester system, with two semesters for every academic session. Every semester consists of fourteen weeks of study and students will be evaluated via on-going evaluation inclusive of the final examination. CREDIT REQUIREMENT Bachelor, 5 Years 186 Credits • Doctor of Medicine • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Bachelor 3½ - 4 Years 120 Credits (Minimum) Diploma 3 - 3½ Years 90 Credits (Minimum) CLASSIFICATION OF DEGREE Degrees at bachelor level conferred by the Senate, except Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, are classified as follows: CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE CLASSIFICATION (CGPA) 3.750 – 4.000 First Class Honours 3.000 – 3.749 (Honours) Second Class Upper Honours 2.250 – 2.999 (Honours) Second Class Lower Honours 2.000 – 2.249 Third Class Honours ENTRY REQUIREMENTS BACHELOR PROGRAMME Local Candidate – General Requirement 1. STPM OR Equivalent Qualification • A pass in Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) • A credit in Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Malaysia at SPM or its equivalent • A pass in the STPM examination with at least CGPA 2.00 and - C Grade (CGPA 2.00) in General Studies; and - C Grade (CGPA 2.00) in TWO (2) other subjects • At least Band 1 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) certificate. However, the minimum level obtained in MUET may vary from one programme to another, AND has fulfilled special requirements for the programme i.e. attaining the required grades in SCIENCES / ARTS as specified for each UPM Bachelor programme that can be found at www.esmp. upm.edu.my/promosi
OR 2. A candidate who has passed a Matriculation or Foundation or Diploma recognized by the UPM Senate can also be considered for admission into the bachelor programme. DIPLOMA PROGRAMME A pass in Malaysian Certificate of Education or its equivalent with minimum 5 credits including Bahasa Malaysia, Mathematics and Science. Details of entry requirements can be accessed at www.esmp.upm.edu.my/promosi. FOUNDATION STUDIES IN AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE A pass in O Level or equivalent, with at least: i. Obtained Grade B in the subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics; ii.
