A small piece of land next to a former landfill off Campo Seco Road in Jamestown is being transformed into a garden nursery for Tuolumne County's first female inmate work crew. Coming &om San Jose, having one stoplight was sort of a bragging right. The light was at Stockton Road and Washington Street facing JC Penney and Sprouse-Reitz. Payless (notthe shoestore) was a favorite shopping destination in the Sonora Plaza.
