produces plastic sculptures from a computer design.
"I wanted to expose them to the latest technology in Sonora," said Rowan. "I had no idea this was going on." Makers Lab member Bryan Pollock led the first demonstration, explaining to students how the lab's 3-D printer can make just about anything. The printers take a 3-D model, designed on computer sokware, and slowly build it by layering thin pieces of melted plastic together. The process can be long and tedious, with some prints taking more than 40 hours to complete, said Pollok. Pollock, an engineer and founding member of the lab, has used the printer to make circuitboards,toys and replacement parts of See LAB/Back Page
