Find out where and when course talks are taking place

Welcome to our beautiful waterfront campus.

Whether you are local, or you’ve travelled far to get here, we're sure you’ll agree it’s a great place to study, and this Open Day is your chance to find out more.

We know that coming along to an Open Day can be daunting, so in this booklet, you’ll find useful information about how to make the most of your day, including when course talks are taking place, where to meet our lecturers, and how to join a tour of our amazing facilities.

We want you to get the most out of the day, so take the time to hear about the courses you are most interested in, meet the lecturers, ask lots of questions, and explore everything on offer here.

PLAN YOUR DAY

We’ve outlined a few things you can do during the Open Day. Make the most of meeting the course teams, join a campus tour, view the accommodation and have a chat with the support services.

10.00am | Registration

Please register from 10.00am onwards to let us know you have arrived, grab a free drink, and get ready for the day.

11.00am | Welcome Talk

This talk is your chance to learn more about the University of Suffolk, our achievements and what it means to be a student here.

11.45am/2.15pm | Course Talks

Find out more about courses that interest you and meet the course lecturers. Some courses also run interactive workshops or tours of facilities. Further details on page 8

12.45pm | Accommodation Talk

Waterfront Building

Find out more about our accommodation options and ask any questions you might have.

1.00pm | Academic Drop-ins

This is your opportunity to speak directly to an academic about a course that interests you. Further details on page 8.

1.15pm | Careers and Placement Options

Waterfront Building

This talk will give you an insight into what career and placement options there are.

Hear what it’s like to be a student at Suffolk and what the Students’ Union have to offer.

Tours

Tours run between 10.00am and 2.00pm. No need to book! 12.45pm

Explore Ipswich Campus

Tours depart from the Waterfront Building.

Accommodation Tour

View our on-campus, en-suite accommodation. Tours depart from the ground floor of Athena Hall.

Professional Health Facilities Tour

Visit our specialist Professional Health course facilities. Tours depart from the SU Social Space in the Library Building.

Free tea and coffee available on campus and places to grab lunch are along the waterfront. Visit MIX Café + Bar and use the 10% voucher on the back of this booklet.

DigiTech Centre Computing Tour

Tours of the DigiTech Centre at BT’s Adastral Park are for prospective students attending the Open Day registered for Computing. Please note that parents/friends can only join the tour if their names were provided when booking the Open Day. The coach departs promptly from the University Car Park lay-by (see map on page 6). The tour and coach ride take approximately two hours.

Course talks take place at 11.45am. Each course will have a second session at 2.15pm which will be an interactive session, a tour of specialist facilities or a repeat of the talk.

We Enjoy Top Train Connections

Ipswich is just under an hour away from London city centre by train and also has great connections to Cambridge and Norwich.

Within Walking Distance of the Town Centre

The campus is on the Ipswich Waterfront and a 10 minute walk from the town centre.

Opportunities

Home to Festivals

Suffolk is home to well-known festivals such as Ipswich Music Day, Global Rhythms, Latitude, Brighten the Corners, First Light and Primadonna.

Official University Partner for Ipswich Town Football Club giving our students great placement opportunities to expand their skill sets.
