n a sustained bid to contain the spread of the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in and around the University community, the management of the University of Ilorin has procured Ebola preventive equipment worth N1.2 million. The equipment include personal preventive kits, face masks, boots, hand gloves, automatic soap dispenser, infrared thermometre (non-contact forehead)

Unveiling the equipment at the University Health Centre last Thursday (September 11, 2014), the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, said that the procurement of the anti-Ebola kits was part of the University's preparedness to tackle the epidemic (Contd. on page 3) headlong.

he Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN) has sent an accreditation team to the University of Ilorin to access the facilities at the institution's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The team, led by Prof. Patrick Onyeyih of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, arrived Ilorin last Tuesday (September 9, 2014). Other members of the Accreditation Team included the VCN Registrar, Dr. Makun Auny; Dr. Timothy Onoja, Dr, Shehu Bawa, Dr. (Mrs.) R. A. Adulugbo, and Prof. BayoAdeyanju. Speaking during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, the leader of the team said that the visit was also meant to rob minds with the staff of the Faculty.
