gender violence in Germany According to the Federal OďŹƒce of Criminal Investigation, in 2017 a total of 113,965 women were mistreated or threatened in Germany by their partners or ex-partners. Of these, 147 were murdered.
This is three times the average Spanish figure in recent years in a country with around twice the population.
In Germany, one in four women between the ages of 16 and 85 claims to have suered physical or sexual violence from their partner.
The newspapers and the public televisions do not register the macho violence at all, following an informative tradition that hardly pays attention to the events.

In addition, the controversy raised by several cases of women murdered by asylum seekers recently arrived in the country. These events were widely collected by the media, when you read the newspaper you sometimes get the impression that only refugees and immigrants hit and kill women because these cases have a great impact.
According to the statistics of 2017, 68% of the suspects in cases of sexist violence are of German nationality. In a country with more than 22% of population with foreign roots.
In comparison with Spain, the number of women murdered in cases of sexist violence in Germany is much higher.
In Germany there were 103 more cases of women murdered by sexist violence than in Spain.
A much higher figure considering that Germany has almost twice as many inhabitants as Spain.
