This Communication for Development Study, commissioned by UNICEF
centered on carrying out a study on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) specific to Children’s Rights to inform the Communication for Development (C4D) Strategy in Belize.
The situation of children and women in Belize is determined by the political, social,
economic and institutional arrangements, which enable or deny their rights and welfare.
This study feeds into country program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and sectoral/program results while being sensitive to the family’s and community’s capacities to absorb, react to and participate in and amongst many competing priorities. The study, therefore, aimed at identifying gaps that act as barriers to
the full realization of Children’s Rights.
