FOUR REASONS TO CHOOSE UNIBG
The UniBg campuses combine functionality and accessibility, housing classrooms, three libraries, canteens, study rooms, laboratories, and relaxation areas. The Sant’Agostino complex and the Humanities Campus in the upper part of Bergamo hold historical significance, while the Economics and Law Campus in the low part of the city and the Engineering Campus in Dalmine (BG) are hubs of innovation and technology. Bergamo offers students the services of a big city but on a personal scale. Urban mobility is fast and efficient, and in twenty minutes by public transport you can get from the city center to Orio al Serio International Airport. Bergamo is a city full of history and culture, with no fewer than two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and it is surrounded by the beautiful chain of the Orobie pre-Alps.

THE ITALIAN CREDIT SYSTEM
In the Italian credit system, CFU (Credito Formativo Universitario) is the unit of measurement for the workload required for a student to acquire competences and skills.
One CFU corresponds to 25 hours of learning, including lectures, workshops, seminars and independent study Students earn CFUs by passing exams and completing their final dissertation, which are graded on a 30/30 scale for exams, and a 110/110 scale for final dissertation.
1 CFU corresponds to 1 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).

The BA program offers interdisciplinary expertise in foreign cultures (Arabic, Chinese, French, Japanese, English and AngloAmerican, German, Russian, Spanish, and Hispano-American), organized into five curricula focused on: linguistics, philology and literature; oriental languages and cultures; tourism; intercultural and transmedial studies; linguistic mediation. Depending on the curriculum, students develop literary, historical, anthropological, geographical, economic, and sociological knowledge and skills for working in multilingual and multicultural environments worldwide.
This BA program emphasizes two main areas: historical-philosophical and historical disciplines, particularly within the Italian tradition (Historical and Philosophical Sciences curriculum); and contemporary theoretical reflection (Theoretical Philosophy curriculum). Career opportunities for graduates include public institutions and private enterprises operating in fields such as education, publishing, journalism, cultural event organization, event planning, public relations, communications, and philosophical consultancy.
This BA program offers a solid foundation in philological-linguistic, literary, historical, and artistic studies, with a focus on Italian and European cultural tradition. It includes two main curricula: Letters, where it is possible to choose between a focus on philologicaldidactic studies, on modern European literatures in a comparative perspective, or on literary studies combined with geohistory; Fashion, Art, Design and Visual Culture, exploring visual arts and cultures, including fashion, design, and cinema.

This BA program covers environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in building engineering, combining architectural and structural design with urban, territorial, and environmental impact assessment. Students gain knowledge in historic building conservation, construction management, and innovative technologies, preparing for careers in construction design, site management, real estate, and sustainable building evaluation. Two curricula are offered: General track and Qualified Surveyor.
This BA program trains students in mathematics, physics, and chemistry, along with mechanical engineering skills. It covers CAD modeling, mechanical component and system design, kinematics and dynamics, material properties, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and energy conversion. Graduates are prepared for roles in manufacturing, mechanical design, industrial automation, energy systems, and engineering consultancy, where they can address design challenges and ensure regulatory compliance.
This BA program develops cross-disciplinary echnical skills in energy saving, environmental sustainability, and digital innovation, with a foundation in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Students study fluid machines, industrial plants, materials science, electrical systems, automation, and energy efficiency. Graduates can access technical roles in public and private organizations, nationally and internationally, addressing energy management, renewable sources, electrification, and environmental impact control.

This MA program provides solid skills in industrial production systems, mechanical design, material selection, life-cycle analysis of products and processes, and energy plant management. Students may specialize in Energy and Environment, Industrial Production, or Mechanical Design. ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE COURSES FOR FOREIGNERS
The University of Bergamo organizes Italian Language and Culture Courses for foreign students. During the academic year, the CIS (Corsi di italiano per stranieri) section will organize the courses free for Erasmus and exchange students, and for students enrolled at the University of Bergamo.
TRANSPORTATION
UniBg students are granted access to discounted rates for urban and extra-urban public transportation through agreements with affiliated providers, including Trenord and ATB.

Academic Calendar A.Y. 2025-2026
ACADEMIC TERM PERIODS
The academic year starts in September. Each department has its own calendar and provides detailed information on the academic calendar and exam sessions on its website. Nevertheless, the first semester lectures typically begin in mid-September and conclude in December. The second semester lectures usually start in February and end in May or June.
Each semester includes a lecture period followed by exam sessions.

Tuition Fees and Scholarships
FEES
Students pay their fees in two yearly installments:
A fee based on the student’s income range (minimum 200,00€) plus a fixed fee of 156,00€, regardless of course, enrollment type, or year.
The second installment is the difference between the total fee (minimum 0,00€; maximum 1.983,00€ within the regular duration of the program; maximum 2.563,00 € beyond the standard duration of the program) calculated on the student’s financial situation, the course of enrollment and the first installment. For fee up 430,00€, both installments are combined in a single payment.

Top international students’ scholarship: Every year, the University of Bergamo offers study grants of €8.000 gross to deserving EU and Non-EU students who wish to enroll at the first year of a Masters’ degree Courses taught in English as indicated in the call.
The GRE test is compulsory in order to apply. These study grants are assigned based on GRE test score report;
Invest Your Talent in Italy: promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of University and Research, in collaboration with ICE Agency and Uni-Italia, supports the internationalization of the Italian academic system by offering foreign students high-quality study opportunities. The program provides access to master’s degrees courses in Engineering and Economics/ Management (taught in English), combined with internships in Italian companies.
