DEAR OSPREYS Since taking over leadership of the Osprey Club and UNF Athletics’ Development in November 2019, I have been so inspired by the passion of the Osprey fans and donors. I believe this passion can truly elevate the

strive to not only compete for ASUN Championships but for NCAA Championships as well!

One mission of the Osprey Club is to enhance funding for student-athlete scholarships. Currently, the UNF Athletics scholarship bill is approximately $2.8 million each year, yet to fully fund scholarships for all 19 UNF Athletics’ teams, the total cost would be over $6 million. There are several ways to support scholarships at UNF, including joining the Shareholders for Success scholarship program; funding a named scholarship; and creating an endowed scholarship. The next step in our competitive growth is to boost the amount of scholarships available for UNF student-athletes.

UNF Athletics is also working to develop facility upgrades that would benefit all 300 of our student-athletes.

This past year, UNF opened the premier Beach Volleyball facility in Northeast Florida. The five-court facility, with a digital scoreboard and bleacher seating, is named the Cooper Family Beach Volleyball Complex, also known as “The Coop,” and is located near Baseball and Softball. In the spring of 2020, UNF also unveiled a new addition to the Softball Complex to complement recent upgrades of a new press box, video board, and field upgrades. The new bleacher system starts 12 feet in the air and runs from dugout to dugout, instantly creating one of the best softball facilities in the Conference. We are just getting started, as plans for a new, on-campus swimming complex are well underway. Plans for upgrades to UNF Arena and the other five Athletics’ facilities are all being developed as well.

UNF is a special place, supported by incredible people. I have great optimism for the upcoming year, and I look forward to working together on this journey. We will continue to move forward with positive energy and the strong desire to be excellent.
