Summary of Activity RA Covers Risk Assessment to ensure suitable arrangements are in place to mitigate against Covid-19 risks for all Bangor University Student Union Members using Students’ Union vehicles (Minibuses / MPVs) on official Bangor University related business / activities. It also covers students using their own vehicles for official club activities and lease / hire vehicles.

Capacities will be set to 50% including the driver.

NOTE: Minibus travel is classed as an AMBER activity as each vehicle is classed as one Contact Group and the driver and passengers may have to self-isolate if not fully vaccinated and subsequently advised another traveler has tested C-19 positive.

a. To reduce risk of transmission on-board SU Minibuses and external coach hire whilst on an SU organized activity. All passengers and SU owned vehicle drivers will be required to take an NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test 24 hours prior to travel. The Trip Lead will request proof of a negative NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test as a text message or e-mail confirming a NEGATIVE test result.1

a. Confirm coach arrangements with coach suppliers as required.

NOTE: Passengers and driver may have to selfisolate if not fully vaccinated (see 1 above) and subsequently advised another traveler has tested C-19 positive.

a. LFD Home Test Kits are available from hubs across the Bangor and Wrexham campus. b. LFD Home Test Kits can also be ordered for home delivery by calling 119 and / or are available at chemists.

c. Asymptomatic Testing is for those not displaying Covid-19 symptoms, have not previously tested positive (within 14 days) and who do not need to self-isolate. d. PCR Tests (if experiencing Covid symptoms) can be arranged by calling 03000 851480.

Staff and students must not attend if experiencing symptoms.

Medication, Food, and Drink: Infection risk if sharing

Student leaders and event leaders sign to state they will keep to the requirement of checking everyone has a negative LFD before departure. Submit confirmation to the SU The Driver will sanitize the vehicle with disinfectant wipes at the start and end of the hire. To include cleaning all internal doors, handles, steering wheels, gear stick, window buttons and general internal fixtures.

Windows will be open whilst the vehicles are in use. NO use of air conditioning.

Ensure students receive suitable information, including regularly reminded of the requirement not to travel if they have developed any symptoms of Covid-19 or are required to self-isolate.

Advise members to bring suitable face covering, which must always be worn onboard vehicles.

Instructions from the SU/Student and Event leaders must always be followed.
