School Representative (Academic Year 2025-26)

Job Description

Role Title: School Representative (SR)

Location: Based in SR’s school.

Responsible To: Student Voice Lead and Representation Coordinator at Undeb Bangor; Director of Student Engagement/Director of Teaching and Learning at School Representative’s School

Term: One academic year (one academic year).

Time Commitment: We estimate hours 2-3 per week (flexible around studies).

Role Expectations

Feedback Analysis and Advocacy

• Monitor and review student feedback submitted via the online feedback form.

• Identify recurring themes, prioritise key issues, and escalate them to the Director of Student Engagement (DSE) or Director of Teaching and Learning (DTL) or Staff-Student Liaison Committees (SSLiCs).

• Follow up with students (where contact details are provided) to gather deeper insights.

• Work closely with Vice President for Education on school-wide/university-wide campaigns.

• Plan and execute Rep Week with the support of your school’s DSE/DTL, peer reps, and Undeb Bangor.

Collaboration

and Problem-Solving

• Work constructively with school staff and Undeb Bangor to co-develop solutions to academic issues.

• Work with the other reps in your school to ensure effective representation for students on academic matters, as a school rep team

• Attend termly SSLiC meetings to discuss feedback trends and contribute to action plans.

• Attend regular meetings with the Student Voice team to share feedback and work on university-wide campaigns.

Communication

and Transparency

• Communicate outcomes of feedback to students via Teams, newsletters, or school bulletins, blackboard and your school webpage on undebbangor.com.

• Promote the online feedback system and your role as a rep to ensure student awareness.

• Occasionally contribute to the development and dissemination of appropriate social media content for Undeb Bangor; participation in this activity remains entirely voluntary.

Community Building

• Foster relationships with students across your School to encourage engagement.

• Participate in Undeb Bangor’s rep community events and training sessions.

Skills, Attributes, and Experience

We’re looking for candidates who:

• Are passionate about improving the student academic experience.

• Are organised and proactive.

We are also keen on candidates who want to develop skills in:

• Analysing data (feedback) and identifying key issues.

• Strong communication to liaise with students and staff.

• Working well in a team and think critically about solutions. No prior experience is required. Training and support will be provided!

Support and Development

• Mandatory training on feedback analysis, meeting skills, and school rep feedback and actioning processes.

• Additional tailored support and training which will be discussed with Undeb Bangor at your regular catch ups.

• Dedicated handbook with contacts, guidelines, and troubleshooting tips.

• Regular check-ins with Undeb Bangor and peer reps for ongoing support.

Eligibility and Selection

• Open to all undergraduate/masters students in the school.

• Selected via application and group interview.
