ENTRE RHÔNE, LACS ET MONTAGNES Au moment où j’écris cette introduction, mi-novembre 2020, le monde tel que nous le connaissons depuis plus de 5 décennies a été bouleversé par la pandémie de coronavirus. Bien qu’il soit difficile de discerner le bon côté de ce scénario de crise sans précédent, il y a certains aspects positifs : les gens reviennent à l’essentiel, découvrant les simples joies de la lecture, de la musique et de la communication. Un sentiment de solidarité mondiale commence à émerger alors que tout le monde se rend compte que seul un effort véritablement uni peut mettre un terme à la propagation de la pandémie. Ceux qui ont la chance de posséder des propriétés similaires à celles présentées dans ce magazine se rendent compte que ces jours-ci, plus que jamais, l’immobilier de luxe n’est pas seulement l’un des investissements à long terme les plus stables, mais aussi une maison et un abri en cette période incertaine, au propre comme au figuré. Nous espérons qu’en parcourant les pages suivantes, nous pourrons vous fournir un peu de distraction, et peut-être même de l’inspiration pour l’avenir. Veuillez rester en bonne santé et optimiste ! As I write this editorial in mid-November 2020, the world as we have known it for the more than 5 decades has been turned upside down by the Coronavirus – pandemic. While it is hard to discern a silver lining in this unprecedented scenario, there are some positive aspects: People are getting “back to basics”, discovering the simple joys of reading, music and communication. A global sense of solidarity begins to emerge as everyone realizes that only a truly united effort can put an end to the spread of the pandemic. Those who are fortunate enough to own properties similar to the ones featured in this magazine realize that these days, more than ever, luxury real estate is not only one of the most stable long-term investments, but also a home and a shelter in uncertain terms, both literally and figuratively. We hope that by browsing the following pages, we might provide you with a bit of distraction, and perhaps even some inspiration for the future. Please stay healthy and optimistic !

«Nous étions très surpris de constater que nos résultats pour le premier semestre 2020 (435 millions d’euros de biens vendus) sont pratiquement identiques à ceux de l’année dernière (449 millions d’euros), et ceci malgré l’arrêt quasi-total d’activité notariale pendant les deux mois de confinement» se réjouit Alexander Kraft. Et d’ajouter pour le PDG de Sotheby’s International Realty FranceMonaco «Au deuxième trimestre, nous avons réalisé 157 ventes sur l’ensemble du territoire français au prix moyen de plus 1.55 millions d’euros». Et c’est aux Français que l’on doit cette activité particulièrement forte sur le haut de gamme, puisque suite au déconfinement, ils ont créé une véritable explosion d’activité. Trois motivations majeures pourraient expliquer ce succès. Tout d’abord le fait que les Français souhaitent «surclasser» leur résidence principale en achetant des biens avec plus d’espaces, un extérieur… Deuxièmement, on note un nouvel intérêt pour les résidences secondaires. Et enfin, la dernière motivation pourrait venir des changements de vie, qui poussent à s’installer en périphérie et à quitter les villes. Face à ce marché très porteur, Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco continue naturellement d’élargir sa présence en planifiant de nouvelles ouvertures d’agences.

2020, A SURPRISINGLY PROMISING YEAR AT SOTHEBY’S INTERNATIONAL REALTY FRANCE-MONACO. «We were very surprised to find that our results for the first half of the year 2020 (435 million euros of properties sold) are almost identical to those of last year (449 million euros), and this despite the almost total cessation of notarial activity during the two months of lockdown» says Alexander Kraft. And to add to the CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco “In the second quarter, we made 157 sales throughout France at an average price of more than 1.55 million euros.” This particularly strong activity at the top end of the market is thanks to the French, who created an explosion of activity following the end of lockdown. Three major motivations could explain this success. Firstly, the fact that the French want to “upgrade” their main residence by buying properties with more space or an outside area. Secondly, there is new interest in secondary homes. Lastly, the final motivation may come from changes in life, pushing people to leave cities and move to the suburbs. In the face of this very strong market, Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco naturally continues to expand its presence by planning new branch openings.

Alongside the refined and sensitive Maison Bleue, the chef now offers a more bistrot-like area. At the ROC, casseroles and dishes cooked in sauce enhance local products. While outdoors, fondue, raclette and tartiflette can be savoured in front of the lake, in the refurbished and heated kiosk. A simpler cuisine, but always made with love and talent.
