Your chapter members participating in the designated Greek Point Events will allow your chapter to gain Greek Points. Tracking attendance will be vital for this to work, which most events do already. Please note that we will be transitioning from Presence to Campus Groups and the system to “check in” at events will work more smoothly than before. How are points calculated? Points will be awarded based on the % of your chapter attending certain events. On the events page that will be sent out in July, there will be a list of events, the description of events, and the points available for all events based on percentage.

POINTS

The goal is for chapters to achieve a minimum of 150 points per semester. Each academic year, we will award the Greek Cup similar to the Lion’s Cup at the end of Greek Week in the Spring to the chapter with the most points from that academic year. Chapters are only eligible for the cup if they have earned the 150 points for each semester. These will be tracked by the FSL Office Staff and updated in the FSL Newsletter, as well as on social media, monthly. Why are we creating this?

What are Greek Points?

G R E E K

The Greek Points System is a new way to incentivize chapter participation for events held by chapters, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and other groups on campus. What is required of me?

Please note that not every event will have the same amount of point available. Can my chapter host Greek Point Events? As we transition from Presence to Campus Groups, there will be an opportunity on the Event Registration Form to submit your event as Greek Point Event. For these to count, the events will need to be registered TWO WEEKS prior to the event and will need to be open to ALL the Fraternity and Sorority Life community (i.e. Mixers, sisterhood or brotherhood events, initiation, etc. will not count).

When will this start?

How does my chapter receive Greek Points?

The anticipated start date would be August 1, 2022. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact the Fraternity and Sorority Life Office at greeklife@una.edu or (256) 765 4248.

Thanks to all the feedback we received from students this past year, this is a positive approach to recognize chapters for their involvement and achievement.
