ears of blood, sweat, and tears finally paid off as undergraduates, graduates, and law students joined recently in the 74th Commencement Exercise as University of Mindanao’s first-ever Virtual Graduation on August 12, 2020. The University organized two batches for the Virtual Graduation, the first batch of the Virtual Graduation was held on August 12, 2020, and the second batch was held on October 7, 2020. The Virtual Graduation streamed live on the University’s social media accounts:

Facebook and YouTube for people, not just students, to see the success of the proud students of the University of Mindanao. The master of ceremony, Dr. Pedrito M. Castillo III, Vice-president on Academic Planning and Services introduced the President of the University of Mindanao, Dr. Guillermo P. Torres Jr., to formally open the Commencement exercise and followed by giving a message for the graduates. The President delivered a message congratulating the graduates of 2020. He also stated the pandemic challenges

and the students’ new mode of learning, which is the online class. The university will plan to address the students’ sustenance in online learning by investing in technologies for the students’ educational convenience amid the pandemic. The President assured the students’ resiliency and strength would give them hope during the crisis and their future endeavors. The President also gave thanks to the parents for the support they give to their children and bid the graduates congratulations again on their success. ...see page 3
