Small groups in the unique Law in Practice course build vital collaboration and problemsolving skills.

Ask our students what makes this law school truly special and you’ll hear over and over: the collegial environment. Our faculty demonstrate it; our students live it; our alumni swear by it.

The culture, while rigorous and challenging, is cooperative, emphasizing teamwork,

problem solving, leadership, and persuasion—skills that are essential beyond law school for any field of employment you choose.

A key component of our culture is public service. Our students embrace it, and our

community benefits from it. The majority of our students perform more than 50 hours of voluntary, law-related public service through participation in clinics, the Minnesota Justice Foundation, and numerous student organizations.

The main reason I decided to come to the University of Minnesota was the collegial nature of the school. The faculty and staff care deeply about your ability to succeed.
