An exclusive opportunity for outstanding undergraduate and graduate students of agriculture toattend the January 2026 Farm Foundation Round Table in El Paso, Texas, January 14-16, 2026.
Thanks to the SAPLINGS grant, up to two students from 1890 Land Grant Universities will receive full funding for travel, flights, hotel, and registration.
The student's research should reflectthe meeting theme, "Putting in the Groundwork: Envisioning theFuture of U.S. Food and Ag Policy," by considering the implicationsof their research for U.S. food and agriculture policy. Students from all disciplines are welcome, but they should clearly describe how theirresearch connects to or informs policy.

The U.S. Department of E ement (EM) Success Through Academic Research Scholarship (STARS) program provides opportunities for undergraduate students from Minority Serving Institutions pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) that supports the EM research and operations in the following areas: Soil & Groundwater; Deactivation & Decommissioning; Tank Waste; Robotics; Machine Learning; Artificial Intelligence; Cybersecurity; and Advanced Manufacturing.

Why should I apply?
You will receive:

Financial support for the pursuit of an undergraduate degree for up to two years and two additional years for students choosing to pursue a master’s degree
Paid summer internships under the guidance of an accomplished mentor at EM headquarter offices, field offices, and DOE national laboratories
Opportunities to engage with the EM community (e.g., EM field sites, contractors, stakeholders) and other STARS Scholars
Academic and career guidance
Continued engagement with EM after graduation through employment opportunities or postgraduate appointments
Financial Support
Tuition: $36,000/academic year (Amount is based on expected average cost. The tuition allowance may be higher based on student’s actual tuition costs.)
Stipend: $32,000/academic year
Education Allowance: $5,000/scholarship year
Summer Internship: 10-week internship
Stipend: $750/week
Housing Allowance: up to $700/week based on assigned location (If relocating more than 50 miles from assigned location)
Local Transportation: $50/week
Inbound/Outbound: $1,000 to be paid as a lump-sum with the first stipend payment (If relocating more than 50 miles from assigned location)

Cardiovascular Sciences Summer Research Program 2026

THE PROGRAM: Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, offers summer training programs in health-related research. The cardiovascular sciences program provides research training supervised by medical school faculty mentors. Participants will engage in biomedical laboratory or population health-oriented research projects, attend a lecture and discussion series facilitated by faculty and guest speakers, and take part in an end-of-summer symposium to present their research findings. Undergraduate students interested in a career in biomedical sciences are encouraged to apply.
ELIGIBILITY:Applicants must beundergraduate students in good academic standing.
PROGRAM DETAILS: Program participants will receive compensation, housing in one of the Wake Forest University residence halls, and shuttle service while on campus. They must commit to a full-time, 40-hour work week (M-F from 8:00 am -5:00 pm) during which time they willbe fully engaged in program activities throughout the summer program. IMET UNDERGRADUATE SUMMER INTERNSHIP

IMET and the University System of Maryland are committed to creating opportunities for a diverse body of undergraduates to enable and encourage students from underrepresented backgrounds to continue on to higher degrees and careers in marine and environmental science.
