Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) Overview Madurai Kamaraj University got established in the year 1966 as a state university.

The university is got authorization by NAAC with grade A+, approved by AICTE, New Delhi & NBA and approved by UGC New Delhi. The university with 20 different schools comprising 77 departments offering 44 Post Graduate, 40 M.Phill, 57 Ph.D programs and 17 diploma/ P.G. diploma/ certificate courses. In the year 1980-81, the Branch of management studies was introduced and it is the 4th Institution in Tamil Nadu started with a full-time and distance MBA program. Currently, the department is offering MBA in full time and part-time specializing in Finance, marketing, system, production, and human resource Management and Systems besides M.Phil. and Ph.D Programs. As per the placement trend last year the highest package was around 12.8 lakhs per year and it was 11 lakhs per annum in the year 2015.
