This is a year like no other. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve adapted—and UMassD summer orientation will be conducted primarily through virtual sessions. If conditions allow, we may offer a comprehensive orientation program between new student move-in day and the first day of fall semester classes. We will base our decision on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Massachusetts Department of Public Health and will adhere to social distancing guidelines. You will be notified via your UMassD email account, and updates will be posted on the orientation website.

After you made your deposit with the university, you received an email with instructions on how to log into your myUMassD account and were instructed to complete online orientation. The program is an excellent introduction to the university and contains information vital to a successful start here. It can be ompleted on a smartphone, tablet, or computer, in multiple sittings or all at once.
Your academic college emailed you an invitation to a welcome Zoom webinar. This mandatory 1-hour meeting served to welcome you to your college and review academic aspects of your university experience. checklist OFFICIAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT
Provide your official high school transcript to the Office of Admissions. You cannot register for fall classes until we receive your official high school transcript.

ADVISING AND COURSE SELECTION
The advising and course registration process is unique to each student population. First-year students (resident and commuter)—will be advised and enrolled in courses by their academic college: Charlton College of Business; College Now; College of Arts & Sciences; College of Engineering; College of Nursing & Health Sciences; or College of Visual & Performing Arts. Transfer students (resident and commuter)—will be advised and enrolled in courses by appointment. On-Line program students—will be advised and enrolled in courses via e-mail or phone appointment. International students—will be advised and select courses as part of International Orientation. Veteran and reservist students—will be advised and enrolled in courses by appointment.
SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Provide any scholarship award letters including the John and Abigail Adams scholarship to the University Enrollment Center. Please include your student ID.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT OR DUAL ENROLLMENT
Send Advanced Placement (AP) scores from the College Board to the Registrar’s Office. Send official transcripts from dual enrollment institutions to Admissions.

RESIDENT STUDENTS—SIGN UP FOR ON-CAMPUS HOUSING
If you choose to live on campus, please include your $200 housing prepayment with your enrollment deposit (for a total of $400). Housing is assigned on a first-come, firstserved basis. You will receive an email to your UMassD account directing you to log into Student Housing Information Portal (SHIP) to complete a survey of your housing preferences. GET YOUR UMASS PASS STUDENT I.D.
Once you have registered for classes, get your UMass Pass. You’ll use it to access buildings, use your meal plan, and load funds. To get your UMass Pass, go to myUMassD > Quicklaunch > UMassPass. Select Student to log in/Staff/ Faculty. Follow the instructions and specs to submit your photo for your I.D. Resident Students - If you have previously submitted your photo to UMassPass, your I.D. will be placed in your key packet upon arrival to your residence hall
Commuter Students - After submitting your photo to UMassPass, your I.D. will be available for pickup at the Business Service Center located on the ground floor of the Campus Center. To confirm that your I.D. is ready for pickup, email umasspass@umassd.edu Online Students - After submitting your photo to UMassPass, your I.D. will either be mailed to your home address or will be available for pickup at the Business Service Center during normal business hours. Please email umasspass@ umassd.edu to confirm the method in which you’d like to receive your UMass Pass.

CWGS is a voice for women and the LGBTQ+ community, with the purpose of eliminating barriers, diminishing prejudices, and creating a supportive climate and space for all. Our mission is to offer resources and support on LGBTQ and women’s issues. In addition, we coordinate campus initiatives to prevent sexual assault and intimate partner violence. The CWGS recognizes that investigations of gender must take place in tandem with explorations of race, class, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression and other significant aspects of individual identity. We offer primarily short-term counseling and will help students initiate referrals to community-based services when students need specialized or longer term services. Services are provided by licensed psychologists, licensed social workers, and advanced unlicensed doctoral trainees under close supervision of our licensed staff. Services include individual counseling, group counseling, and workshops.

We support students by ensuring they understand all options and responsibilities to maximize their aid eligibility. Aid is available in the form of grants, scholarships, tuition credit, loans, and/or part-time employment to help defray educational expenses. Students must submit the

Through the Registrar’s office, students register for classes and receive the records of their progress and achievement. Current and former students may obtain transcripts, and the schedules for the instructional program are prepared each semester for the academic departments. The office also maintains the record of the university’s academic affairs, and monitors and enforces many of the academic procedures and policies of the university.

The SAIL Office provides programming for the entire campus community. The student employee-led SAIL Events Team plans and executes a diverse schedule of activities and includes something for everyone. SHS provides evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems, treatment of minor injuries, management of sexual health, contraceptive care, and preventive healthcare including immunizations. TRANSPORTATION
Ground floor of the Marketplace | umassd.edu/transportation 508.999.9175 | transportation@umassd.edu Campus Transportation provides service for the on-campus Shuttle, Retail Shuttle Loop, New Bedford Loop, event shuttle transportation, charter buses, Zip Car, and various local bus services and routes. Campus shuttles run on a scheduled loop every 10-15 minutes during service times. Safe Rides are available when shuttle service is not available.

UMDollars can be used at the Campus Store and all on-campus dining venues. To get your UMass Pass, go to myUMassD > Quicklaunch > UMass Pass. Select Student to log in/Staff/Faculty. Follow the instructions and specs to submit your photo for your I.D.

The University Enrollment Services Center is a “one-stop shop” environment where you can handle many of your student transactions: registration, add/drop, withdrawals, enrollment verification, transcript requests, financial account information, housing deposits, payment plans and payments.

Officers are trained by the Massachusetts Police Training Council and are fully sworn officers with full arrest powers.

MY ALERT MyAlert is a notification system that immediately delivers emergency information to the UMassD community via mobile phone text and voice messaging.
