Research Project Parents, we need your help! Do you want to help us learn how to better teach children with cochlear implants? Join our research project at the University of Maryland’s Learning to Talk Lab! What does our research look at? How young children with cochlear implants, ages 3-8 years old, learn to understand, and produce words and sentences. What will children do in the Learning to Talk Lab? Watch short movies, play word games, and do other language-related activities. What will my child and I receive if we participate in a study? • $20 cash/hour of participation • A small toy and a book for your child • A birthday card and a book for your child on his/her birthday • Free educational information about your child’s language development How do I get to the Learning to Talk Lab? • You can drive and we will provide parking. Driving instructions will be emailed/sent to you if you wish to drive yourself. • We can arrange free transportation (taxi or Uber) for your family.
