UMass Amherst’s College of Information and Computer Sciences (CICS) was established in 2015 in recognition of computing’s vital role in society and over 50 years of computer science teaching and research excellence at the university. The college’s internationally-recognized faculty are engaged in trailblazing research in all areas of the field and lead multi-disciplinary, collaborative programs with significant societal and scientific impact. Consistently ranked among the top 25 computer science programs in the nation, CICS provides students with a strong foundation in theoretical and applied computer sciences, preparing a new generation of innovators and problem-solvers for careers in Massachusetts and throughout the world.
