Luxury Kitchens & Interiors

Muraspec, a company with a heritage dating back to 1850, is delighted to introduce three stunning new designs Patina Stone, Luxor, and Orpheus expanding the cherished Union collection. Each design is expertly crafted to meet the evolving needs of commercial and residential interiors, offering both timeless elegance and exceptional durability.

Patina Stone transforms spaces with its rich, natural aesthetic inspired by the beauty of stone and concrete. The soft lustrous finish evokes the aged elegance of weathered surfaces, adding subtle depth and dimension to any room. Whether used for a bold feature wall or to envelop an entire space, Patina Stone brings an artisan-quality, sophisticated look that enhances interiors with a refined touch.

Similarly, Luxor and Orpheus also bring sophistication and versatility to commercial spaces. Luxor blends matte tones with soft metallic accents, evoking the luxurious feel of fine textiles. The design’s intricate detailing and smooth finish make it perfect for creating dynamic, elegant environments. Orpheus, on the other hand, combines natural elegance with tactile texture, offering a range of shades from rich matte tones to

delicate metallics, adding a layer of refined sophistication to any space.

Each of these designs offers unparalleled performance, with a fire rating of Euroclass B, full washability, and IMO ratings, ensuring the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and durability across various commercial sectors. With the ability to withstand the demands of high-traffic areas, all three designs are perfect for corporate offices, hospitality, retail, and highend residential interiors.

Muraspec’s commitment to quality is further reflected in the company’s UK-based manufacturing, ensuring the finest craftsmanship and the shortest lead times in the industry. The ability to order next-day samples also allows specifiers and designers to make swift, confident decisions for their projects.

With over 170 years of experience, Muraspec continues to lead the industry, offering wallcoverings that marry aesthetics with performance. Explore the new Patina Stone, Luxor, and Orpheus designs—part of the iconic Union collection—and elevate your commercial and residential interiors with the trusted name in wallcoverings.

Bespoke Carpet Showroom

Mark McCallister began his career as a carpet fitter in 1998 and quickly built up a reputation for quality workmanship, reliability and excellent service, working with well known interior designers, property developers and home owners.

Over the years, Mark identified that there was a real need for customers to be able to see carpet samples within their home, in order to see the carpets in the correct light and to help bring a room scheme together.

Consequently in 2013, the business invested in a bespoke mobile carpet showroom which conveniently brings the carpet samples to your door.

After a successful launch Lisa Emerson joined the team. With a passion for interiors and an eye for detail, Lisa assists home owners in choosing the right colour, texture, fibre and weight of carpet to suit their home and lifestyle. With over 1000 samples to choose from, the range is continually being updated to suit discerning home owners.

This service is of huge benefit to people with busy lives who simply don’t have enough free time to go around the shops, hoping to choose the right carpet. Lisa will come to you with the mobile showroom at a time that suits you, so you can choose your carpet with confidence from the comfort of your own home.

THE ALLURE OF INTERIOR CHARM

ULSTER TATLER INTERIORS

FEATURES A DESIGN-HAVEN

PENTHOUSE IN THE HEART OF BELFAST BY ATELIER BRANCO & FAIRLEY.

Step into the modern eclecticism and timeless charm of this charming Malone penthouse where the old-world allure of classic design blends with modern luxury.

The owners entrusted the creative duo Victor Branco and James Fairley of Atelier Branco & Fairley with the refurbishment of their brand new penthouse apartment which they use for occasional weekend breaks in the city and when flying in and out of the country

for business purposes.

The designers outlined the brief from the owners: to create an elegant and timeless space with classical design elements paired with a contemporary edge. “We placed emphasis on creating a bespoke and sophisticated environment; a haven within the modern city’s hustle and bustle, where luxury meets seamless living. For this project we carefully hand-picked the best of the best in terms of furnishings, lighting and

accessories to create a sophisticated and stylish ambience.

We used a rich and crisp contemporary colour palette of offwhites, ochre hues, dark woods and warm metal accents throughout to create an elegant and sophisticated environment, just perfect for city living.  Statement lighting, sculptural and exceptionally handcrafted furniture paired with exquisite accessories shaped the end result of this truly

exceptional project. New flooring was installed in all three bedrooms while the existing floor tiles was kept in the main living areas.

The existing kitchen was also replaced and beautifully designed by Canavan Kitchens. We helped our lovely clients

select the stunning Sapphire Brown granite stone from Lamont Stone as a starting point which is beautifully enhanced by golden accents, bronze metals and dark wood giving the overall look a rich, decadent feel. The kitchen island is graced with elegant custom-

made counter stools in dark wood with brass details and upholstered in Marron glacé faux leather for durability. Marmorino Venetian plaster in ochre hues was applied to the beautiful vaulted ceilings in the living areas to give warmth while accentuating the

elegant architectural elements of this space. Soft architectural lighting detailing gives the space a special glow in the evenings . The beautiful marble stone from Lamont  which we chose to clad the fireplace wall acts as a striking focal point in the room and is the perfect backdrop to both dining and living spaces.

In the master suite we used a timelessly elegant scheme of deep blues, ivory and tabacco velvet fabrics combined with accents of bronze metals and alabaster. We commissioned a series of beautifully hand-painted and hand-embroidered strata silk panels which we in turn incased in floor-toceiling bronze frames, creating the ultimate statement of refined beauty and the perfectly exquisite backdrop for the Prussian blue velvet bed. Guest bedrooms often have lower budgets in the hierarchy of spaces within the home, but in this project it wasn’t really the case. The brief from

our client was to create an elegant and timeless space with a muted colour palette. For the guest bedroom suites we paired classic design elements with contemporary touches. In the first guest bedroom, we used a colour scheme of warm neutrals with nuances of taupe accentuated by the use of tobacco velvet and textured linen fabrics throughout the soft furnishings and the beautiful custom-made upholstered headboard. We added accents of brushed brass and woven silk wallpaper to the bespoke joinery work for an extra layer of luxury. The beautiful alabaster bedside pendants add a sense of calm, balance and elegance to this stunning guest bedroom suite.

In the second guest bedroom suite we used a sophisticated and muted colour scheme of golden hues, lemongrass and olive green accents, complemented

perfectly by the subtle layers of pattern and elegant textures of bouclè fabric, shagreen leather and velvets. The bespoke built-in joinery was designed by our studio with accents of brushed and the beautiful custom-made bedside tables were embellished with faux shagreen to add a touch of luxury and sophistication to this well-crafted guest bedroom suite.

An entrance must feel exceptional and this one is certainly no exception. The beauty found in every intricate element is evident in the beautiful entrance foyer at our Malone penthouse project. Luxe gold details paired with rich textures set the tone for timeless elegance. Each material was thoughtfully chosen to bring warmth and sophistication into this captivating space. We are always captivated by the allure of the details and craftmanship. We wanted to add

drama and excitement to the space, so we installed a stunning custom-made Nenúfar Bonsai chandelier which graces the entrance foyer, acting as a whimsical suspended sculpture. This stunning piece has a charming floating orb of delicate petals that exudes a romantic and poetic light energy that will take your breath away.

The result is a symphony of sophistication where exceptional craftsmanship meets opulent materials and finishes. Rich woods paired with warm metal accents, hand-painted and embroidered custom panels, statement custom-made lighting and furniture, beautiful stones and marbles all add to the allure of this stunning city penthouse.”

25 YEARS OF STYLISH LIVING

ULSTER TATLER INTERIORS TALKS TO STYLISH LIVING’S EVELYN MEHAFFEY AS THEY CELEBRATE 25 YEARS IN THE INTERIORS INDUSTRY.

How do you plan to celebrate 25 years of interiors excellence this year? It is an incredible accomplishment – 25 years! Throughout April we are going to have a 25% discount off all giftware and accessories in our home experience showroom. In addition, we will be doing an amazing giveaway, which you can enter on our social media platforms, and it will run the entire length of April.

On a more personal level I am celebrating 10 years of being cancer-free. To mark this occasion, we will be hosting an event in the showroom later this year to help with vital research and raise funds for breast cancer.

How has Stylish Living evolved over the 25 years?

As the founder and creative director of

Stylish Living, I opened the doors on 1st April 2000 as ‘Biggie Best’, a South African interior franchise, with a beautiful showroom in Lisburn town centre. Stylish Living today is still located in Lisburn, but slightly further out. In 2019 we embarked on the building of our 8000 sq ft. Home Experience Showroom with private parking. The vision which we created was a unique one-of-a-kind experience. Rather than the normal open showroom floorspace, we wanted to create an exact replica of a home. We achieved this by building 20 actual rooms: from lounges to bedrooms to bathrooms and everything in between. This allows clients to visualise how their home can be transformed by the team at Stylish Living. Fully furnished and accessorised, they showcase the finest furniture, most luxurious fabrics and exquisite interior collections from around the world.

You are very passionate about interior design; where did your love of design come from?

I have always had a passion for interior

design, even during my first career as a hospital ward sister. I feel very privileged to have had a second career that I love, spanning now 25 years since I started my own interior design business, Stylish Living.

It has been and always will be an absolute privilege and pleasure to create timeless, elegant homes for our clients. Of course, this could not have been achieved without our wonderful and talented team. If you love what you do, you will never feel like you have worked a day in your life.

Where do you draw your creativity from at the start of each individual project?

My creativity firstly comes from getting to know our clients and building up a relationship; finding out how they live in their homes and what they would like to achieve. Our inspiration is drawn from the architecture of the client’s home, location and surroundings. The creative design process is very much based on experience, individuality, and product knowledge. We travel extensively to fashion capitals like Paris and Milan, to name but a few. This allows ourselves to keep abreast of upcoming products and styles.

How would you summarise interior design?

For me interior design is the heartbeat of the home, turning clients’ dreams and aspirations into reality. Every day is a different experience, working on behalf of our clients with architects, builders,

bespoke cabinetry makers, sourcing and designing furniture, soft furnishings, lighting and adding the finishing touches with accessories. Our team of talented professionals are dedicated to crafting interiors, which blends beauty, functionality and practicality. The greatest satisfaction on completion of a project is seeing the finished aesthetic reflecting our clients’ dreams.

Is there anything you would like to say to your clients?

We at Stylish Living acknowledge all of our

lovely clients who we have had the privilege of working with over this period. We are very much looking forward to many more years of creating exceptional interiors. Please feel free to visit our showroom Monday – Friday 10am – 5pm, where you will be made very welcome.

A Grand Stay at the

ULSTER

TATLER INTERIORS REVIEWS THE OPULENT GRAND CENTRAL HOTEL.

Booking into the Mulholland suite on the 20th floor of the Grand Central Hotel is more than just a hotel stay; it is a luxury break away from it all in the heart of Belfast city centre. The suite, which boasts stunning views of the city, is spacious and, in addition to a sumptuous super-king bed, boasts its very own living, dining and kitchen area complete with Nespresso coffee machine and fridge.

Afternoon Tea with a View

Afternoon tea in the Observatory on the hotel’s 23rd floor was a delight. Guests are treated to fantastic panoramic views of the city while savouring what must be the most exquisite array of afternoon treats possible. A selection of freshly made sandwiches and warm freshly baked scones topped with jam and clotted cream were to die for! To finish there were plenty of indulgent treats to satisfy those with a sweet tooth, including chocolate profiteroles and macaroons. Anthony, our fabulous host, persuaded us to have a glass of champagne to finish off our afternoon tea...how could we say no? It would be rude not to in such a stunning setting.

Dining Delights

In the evening we dined in the Grand Café – city centre chic dining on the ground floor of the Grand Central Hotel, which oozes style and sophistication. We could have been dining in any cosmopolitan city in the world. The staff in the Grand Café were warm and welcoming and demonstrated a good knowledge of the menu. We went with their recommendations and the food did not disappoint! It was as fabulous as the surroundings…to start we shared Perello olives, Spanish mini chorizo with waggle dance honey and mustard glaze and toasted sourdough, as well as peri peri prawns from the specials menu, which was also served with toasted sourdough. They were the perfect starters for a cold January evening. For mains we ordered two seafood dishes: pan fried sea bass served on a bed of olive oil mash, fine beans and Dublin Bay prawns finished with garlic butter; and a King prawn and nudja butter tagliatelle with red pepper and chilli gremolata, with a little kick from the peppers and chilli. Our wine of choice was Tuno de noche Malbec, a smooth Argentinian red. Satiated after our starter and mains we opted for Calypso coffees to round off our meal perfectly.

City Centre Cocktails

Unquestionably, The Observatory by day provides the ultimate backdrop for a special afternoon tea, but by evening it transforms into an exclusive cocktail bar and lounge, with music to suit the mood and dimmed lighting to complement the city lights beyond. I can highly recommend the whiskey sour and bramble from the cocktail menu, which also offers special cocktails named after Belfast landmarks.

The Best Start to the Day

After a restful night in the dreamiest of hotel beds imaginable, nothing beats waking up to a freshly cooked breakfast. We perused the menu at length before ordering; we were spoilt for choice. Guests can have a classic continental breakfast comprising of fruit, homemade muffins, cereals, meats and cheeses, or the breakfast buffet with everything you might need to make your own full Irish breakfast your way. The Grand Central takes pride in sourcing the very best of local produce, with no fewer than 18 different local suppliers across Northern Ireland listed on a map to show exactly where everything on your plate comes from.

The Grand Central definitely ticks all the boxes for the perfect getaway…to

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

ULSTER TATLER INTERIORS FEATURES A NORTH WEST NEW-BUILD FAMILY HOME BY POPLAR DESIGN FOR THEIR CLIENTS, MARTIN AND BRENDA DOHERTY.

When designing our new home, a priority was the creation of a space that was both architecturally striking and highly functional for everyday living. Engaging renowned architect Des Ewing helped us achieve this vision, as his approach was seamlessly aligned with our goals from the outset.

Attention to detail was also paramount. We wanted to ensure that the execution of the project reflected the integrity of the overall design concept. Liam Baldrick of North West Modern Designs played a crucial role in refining these architectural details, allowing us to bring our vision to life with precision and craftsmanship.

Building a home from scratch inevitably comes with its challenges, and as this was a self-build project, managing our time while working full-time jobs proved to be one of the biggest hurdles. However, our commitment to achieving our vision meant dedicating countless hours to researching and refining design details.

We firmly believe that this investment of time and effort paid off in the long run, ensuring that every element of our home met our expectations.

Our home is heavily inspired by the modern American farmhouse style, a design aesthetic we’ve always admired. However, it was important for us to incorporate elements that tied the home to its surroundings, such as locally sourced stonework. This combination of modern elegance with natural materials ensures that our home feels both distinctive and in harmony with its environment.

The kitchen is the heart of our home. As a family, we spend a significant amount of time in the open-plan kitchen area, whether cooking, dining, or entertaining. Therefore, it was crucial that our kitchen was not only aesthetically aligned with our home’s traditional style but also highly durable and functional for everyday use. Poplar Design came highly recommended by a friend who had worked with them on a highend kitchen and interior furniture project. From our very first meeting with Caroline, we could tell she fully understood our vision. Her expertise and enthusiasm reassured us that Poplar Design would be able to deliver a kitchen that seamlessly combined exquisite design with everyday practicality.

Caroline’s extensive experience in design meant that she was able to take our broad ideas and refine them into a highly detailed, cohesive plan. The high-quality graphic visualisations she provided gave us a clear picture of how the final design would look, allowing us to fine-tune every detail before installation.

Caroline and her team demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and maintained a hands-on approach throughout the entire process. This meticulous oversight ensured that when it came to the installation phase, everything ran smoothly. Caroline was always available, responding swiftly to any design queries and making the entire experience stress-free.

We had a few unique requests that Caroline tackled brilliantly, including the integration of a secret pantry – a challenge given that the walls had already been constructed. Despite these constraints, Caroline found a creative way to incorporate it seamlessly into the kitchen design.

Some standout recommendations from Caroline and her team include:

• American copper handles in the utility room, which add a stunning contrast.

• Walnut-lined display cabinets that introduce warmth and texture.

• Dark furniture in the cinema room, which enhances the cosy, immersive atmosphere.

HOUSE FEATURE

One of the best things about our kitchen is how well it fits into our everyday life. The space was designed with functionality in mind, making everything from cooking to entertaining effortless. The layout allows for seamless movement, and the open-plan design makes it easy to interact with family and guests while preparing meals.

We were also fortunate that we could design the kitchen around the stunning views, ensuring that natural light fills the space and enhances the overall ambiance. The result is a kitchen that not only meets our practical needs but also feels welcoming and comfortable at all times.

Our favourite feature is the large island with a double-thickness quartz worktop. It serves as a central hub for our home, providing ample space for food preparation, casual dining, and socialising.

We love how the island anchors the kitchen, making it a natural gathering place. Whether it’s enjoying a morning coffee, prepping meals together, or entertaining guests, this feature has become an essential part of our daily routine.

Poplar Design took the time to understand exactly what we needed and created a traditional-style kitchen with a modern twist. Their ability to blend classic elegance with contemporary functionality was key in achieving the perfect balance for our home.

The crisp, clean colour palette, along with carefully selected materials and finishes, brought a sense of freshness and sophistication to the space. Every design decision – from cabinetry layout to lighting choices – was made with both aesthetics and usability in mind.

Designing and installing a kitchen and custom interiors can be overwhelming but working with Caroline made the process smooth and enjoyable. She treated our project as if it were her own, ensuring that every detail was executed to perfection.

Poplar Design didn’t just create our kitchen – they also designed and installed furniture for the pantry, dining room, utility room, bathroom, boot room, and cinema room. The installation team did a first-class job, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Poplar Design to anyone looking for bespoke, high-quality interiors.

Caroline, Poplar Design, adds: From our very first conversations, it was clear that the clients had a strong and well-defined vision for their home. Their passion for great design and their keen eye for detail made working with them an exciting and rewarding experience.

One of the most inspiring aspects of working with this client was their hands-on approach and dedication to every aspect of the project. They were fully engaged in the design process, which made our collaboration even more dynamic and productive. Their willingness to explore creative solutions and attention to detail helped shape a home that is truly unique.

We loved helping the clients refine and execute their modern American farmhouse vision. Their commitment to blending modern design with locally inspired elements ensured that every detail felt authentic and cohesive.

We understood from the outset how important the kitchen was to the clients, not just as a functional space but as a central hub for family life. This shared understanding made the design process incredibly collaborative, ensuring that every decision reflected both beauty and practicality.

From our first conversation, we knew this would be a fantastic collaboration. The clients were open to creative ideas and eager to make informed design decisions. Their enthusiasm made the process enjoyable and allowed us to push the boundaries of traditional design with unique, tailored elements.

Working with clients who have such a strong vision makes the design process incredibly fulfilling. We were able to bounce ideas back and forth, refining and perfecting each detail until we achieved the ideal balance between functionality and beauty.

Communication and collaboration were key throughout this project. The clients were always engaged and open to suggestions, which made the design and installation phases seamless. This mutual trust allowed us to execute their vision with precision.

We love a design challenge, and this project certainly had some interesting ones! The secret pantry, custom boot room plant space, and tailored study shelving were all unique requests that required innovative solutions. Seeing these features come to life was incredibly rewarding.

Every material and finish was carefully chosen to complement the home’s overall style. The clients’ trust in our expertise allowed us to introduce elements that added character and sophistication to each space.

A kitchen should be more than just a cooking space – it should be a place where life happens. We worked closely with the clients to ensure that the layout and design complemented their lifestyle, creating a space that is as inviting as it is functional. By incorporating thoughtful details and ensuring optimal flow, we were able to deliver a kitchen that truly works for them.

The island was a key element in the overall design, and we wanted to ensure it was both visually striking and incredibly practical. Seeing how much the clients use and enjoy it is the ultimate confirmation that we achieved the right balance between style, functionality, and comfort.

A well-designed kitchen should feel effortless to use while also being visually stunning. We worked closely with the clients to create a space that felt timeless yet fresh, ensuring that every detail—from the cabinetry craftsmanship to the material selections—enhanced both the beauty and efficiency of the space.

This project was truly a pleasure to work on. The clients’ appreciation for quality design, their openness to collaboration, and their trust in our team made the experience as rewarding for us as it was for them. Seeing their vision come to life and knowing we played a role in creating a home they love is why we do what we do.

BREAKING THE MOULD

ULSTER TATLER INTERIORS TALKS TO GERARD WILSON, SALES DIRECTOR AT SAM MOULDINGS.

How would you describe a typical working day with SAM Mouldings?

No two days are ever the same at SAM, and that’s exactly what keeps it interesting! My mornings always start with a coffee, usually in an airport, heading on an early flight across to the UK or Europe to visit customers.

As the sales director at SAM, a big part of my role is engaging with our customers and supporting both our internal and external sales teams. Whether I’m in meetings or catching up over calls, my focus is on ensuring our customers have what they need to succeed with our

products. That also means working closely with our operations and technical teams to continually enhance our range through new product development, making sure we’re always evolving to meet market demands.

When I’m not travelling or in meetings, I like to unwind, sometimes that’s a game of five or eight-a-side football, sometimes it’s getting out on the golf course for a few holes, and other times it’s watching Liverpool (with mixed emotions lately!). Evenings are often spent having dinner with family before taking our dog, Betsy, for a walk.

It’s a fast-paced, ever-changing role, but working with a fantastic team and seeing the continued growth of SAM makes it all worthwhile.

What is the most important factor for selecting the right architrave or skirting for your home?

When choosing the right architrave or skirting for your home, the key is to ensure it complements your interior design, the character of the room, and the style of your doors. While mouldings serve a practical purpose, covering the transitions between walls and floors or doors, they also play a major role in defining the overall look and feel of your space.

If you’re going for a modern, minimalist look, opt for mouldings with clean, simple lines that blend seamlessly with your décor. For period-style homes with high ceilings, taller skirting boards and wider architraves help maintain a sense of proportion and elegance, staying true to the home’s architectural style.

Room size is another important factor. Larger mouldings can create a grand, statement feel, while in smaller spaces, more subtle profiles can help maintain a sense of openness and flow.

Ultimately, mouldings are more than just finishing touches, they’re a design feature that can enhance your home’s character and bring the whole look together. Choosing the right style ensures a cohesive and timeless finish that adds value and appeal to your space.

As well as architrave, skirting and window board, is there a new product you’re excited about being added to the SAM Moulding portfolio?

We’re always looking to expand our range to meet the latest interior trends, and there are a couple of exciting additions we’re particularly thrilled about.

Picture rails and dado rails have seen

a real resurgence in popularity. While they’ve always been a staple in period properties, they’re now being embraced in contemporary homes to add character and definition to walls. To meet this growing demand, we’ve expanded our existing range with new designs, giving homeowners even more choice when it comes to adding these elegant details to their interiors.

Another major trend we’re seeing is slat wall panelling, which brings warmth and texture to interiors. We’ve just launched our Slat Wall Panelling range for Northern Ireland, available in four stylish finishes: Mink Chestnut, Natural Gold Oak, Chocolate Oak, and Charcoal Chestnut. These slat wall panels are perfect for adding depth and character to a space, whether used as a full feature wall or a subtle accent. They work beautifully in living spaces, bedrooms, hallways, or even commercial settings, offering a modern and sophisticated aesthetic.

With these new additions, alongside our extensive range of skirting, architrave, flooring, stair kits, and window boards, we’re continuing to provide homeowners with high-quality, stylish options to enhance their interiors. Whether you’re after classic detailing or modern statement pieces, there’s something in our range to suit every style.

SAM Mouldings has become one of the UKs most successful MDF moulding companies, what is the secret of its success?

There’s no single secret to SAM’ success, it’s a combination of great people, quality, and a commitment to staying ahead of the market. At the core of everything we do are our values: Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Loyalty (TWIRL). These aren’t just words on a page, they shape how we work as a team and how we build lasting partnerships with our customers.

Listening to the market and adapting to change has also been key. The interior mouldings industry is constantly evolving,

and we make it a priority to stay ahead of trends and customer needs. A great example is SAM Zero, our fully finished MDF moulding range. Customers were looking for a time-saving solution, so we delivered a product that eliminates the need for additional painting, making installation quicker and easier. It’s about making our customers’ lives easier and ensuring they have the right products for their projects.

Sustainability is another major focus. We’ve heavily invested in reducing our carbon footprint, giving our customers confidence that they’re working with a responsible supplier.

And of course, having the largest stocked range of MDF mouldings in the UK and Ireland gives us a real competitive edge. Whether it’s standard profiles or trend-led designs like slat wall panelling and picture rails, we ensure our customers have access to the best range on the market.

Ultimately, our success comes down to staying proactive, working closely with our customers, and always looking for ways to improve. We don’t just react to change; we aim to drive it.

What is on trend now for mouldings and how will it progress into 2025 within our homes?

Mouldings are no longer just a finishing touch, they’re becoming a standout design feature in homes, helping to add character, depth, and style to interiors. Right now, wall panelling is leading the way, with homeowners using everything from full feature walls to more subtle details like picture rails and dado rails to bring texture and personality into their spaces. These elements help break up large walls, create visual interest, and give homes a more high-end, bespoke feel.

We’re also seeing a rise in contemporary profiles, such as SAM5059 grooved and SAM5061 chamfered, which offer a sleek and modern finish. These styles work particularly well in minimalist

spaces, where clean lines and understated details are key to achieving a fresh, contemporary look.

Looking ahead to 2025, mouldings will become an even bigger design statement throughout the home. Expect to see more creative applications, such as panelling extending beyond feature walls into hallways, staircases, and even ceilings, as homeowners look for ways to bring unique character into every room. Skirting and architrave choices will also become bolder, with more people opting for taller, more defined profiles to enhance their interiors.

Have you a favourite SAM Mouldings product and why?

It’s tough to pick just one favourite SAM Mouldings product because our range is so extensive, each profile brings something different to an interior, depending on the style of the home.

That said, if I had to choose, the SAM502 Hockey Stick would be a strong contender. It’s a small detail that makes a big impact, adding depth to your architrave and enhancing the overall look of your home. It gives that luxurious, highend feel but at a fraction of the cost, which makes it a great option for homeowners looking to elevate their space without breaking the budget.

Another standout is our SAM Wrap range, which offers the beauty of real wood veneer with the stability and affordability of MDF. It provides the rich, natural appearance of timber mouldings without the high price tag or the maintenance that comes with solid wood. This makes it a fantastic choice for those who want the warmth and authenticity of wood while still benefiting from a durable, easy-to-install solution.

Ultimately, the beauty of SAM’s range is that there’s something for every style and budget.

TIMELESS AND VERSATILE

ULSTER TATLER INTERIORS FEATURES A CO. DOWN GEORGIAN NEW-BUILD WITH INTERIOR DESIGN BY CLAIRE HAMMOND INTERIORS.

Working with Claire Hammond Interiors, we have created a home that perfectly balances style and functionality. From the very beginning of the project, Claire and her team guided us through selecting all the fixtures and finishes, ensuring every detail reflected our vision. The use of neutral tones creates a timeless and versatile aesthetic, providing a calming and relaxing environment for our young family.

The open-plan living area seamlessly blends comfort with elegance through its pared-back design, enhancing rather than overpowering the architecture of our home. The vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden beams add a sense of spaciousness, drawing the eye upwards towards the antique brass chandeliers, which bring warmth to the space. Our large corner sofa, complemented by a bespoke rug and textured cushions, creates the perfect setting for both relaxation and socialising. The voile curtains soften the room, allowing natural light to flow through, creating

a bright and airy feel. The natural wood coffee table and ottoman tie everything together, adding cohesion, character and interest.

Flowing effortlessly from the living area, the dining and kitchen spaces are equally considered. At the centre, our large rustic dining table, surrounded by upholstered linen chairs, provides a natural transition between spaces. The hand-painted kitchen, fitted with high-end appliances and generous storage, marries classic and contemporary styles beautifully. Large windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing its inviting atmosphere.

Thanks to Claire Hammond Interiors, our thoughtfully designed home strikes the perfect balance between style, functionality and comfort, making it an ideal space for both everyday family life and special occasions.

“This beautifully crafted living space embodies the perfect balance of style, functionality and comfort, making it an ideal setting for both everyday living and special occasions.”

Formal lounge

Working with Claire Hammond Interiors, we set out to create a space that felt like a true destination – somewhere we would always enjoy spending time. Claire and her team took our vision and brought it to life, designing a space that blends luxury with a relaxed, home-like atmosphere. The combination of vintage and contemporary elements makes it feel both stylish and timeless, exactly as we had hoped.

The classic chandelier casts a warm and welcoming glow, making the room perfect for both unwinding and hosting guests. Our large coffee table serves as the focal point of the seating area, adding both practicality and charm. The vibrant, patterned, and textured cushions bring comfort and personality, while the neutral walls provide the perfect backdrop for the carefully curated artwork. The floral curtains elegantly frame the windows, allowing natural light to enhance the intricate details of the design.

Thanks to Claire Hammond Interiors, our vision has become a reality. This space truly reflects our personality, offering the perfect balance of comfort and sophistication.
