Above the line you need to include the expected and unexpected life events that the person will/has experience(d) between birth and death. Below the timeline include the stages of development that are reached at each age. These will be going on display in the department. Expected Life Events Starting school, going to university, starting work, getting married, retirement are examples. Describe the impact of these events. Unexpected Life events Accidents or illness, death of a loved one. Describe the impact of these events Stages of development Infancy, childhood, adolescence, early adulthood, middle adulthood and older adulthood. What happens at each stage? What age do infants hold up their head, sit unaided, grasp objects or smile? Use different colours for each stage and different colours for expected and unexpected events.
