The Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin or Berlin International Film Festival is a popular event that is held in Berlin every year. This iconic festival was first held in the year 1951 & is a part of the “Big Three” Film Festivals namely Cannes Film Festival & Venice Film Festival. The Berlin International Film Festival 2021 will be the 71st edition that is an online-only event due to the pandemic situation. So, there will be 2 events of the Berlinale 2021 namely: Industry Event – From 1st to 5th March (Online Only) Summer Special – From 9th to 20th June (Offline Event)

Berlinale Special 2021 The Berlinale Special will be featuring around 11 Films from ten countries.

Out of these 11, three will be the first features. Some of the films that you can relish with your loved ones are Courage, Je Suis Kari, French Exit & more.

Encounters

This section was started in 2020 & slowly gained popularity for showcasing documentary forms & diverse narratives. Winners for Best Director, Best Film & Special Jury Award will be chosen by a three-member Encounters Jury.

However, the awards will be given in the summer special event. You can enjoy 12 titles from around 16 countries in the Encounters section.

Prominent Juries of Berlin International Film Festival 2021 International Jury 2021

This Jury will include 6 Directors that have won the Golden Bear for their respective films. They will choose the winders for the Competition section of the 71st Berlin Festival 2021. The final decisions will be announced on 5th March.

Generation Juries 2021 The International Jury for the 44th Generation will include the writer Melanie Waelde, the director Mees Peijnenburg & actress Jella Hasse

International Short Film Jury 2021

A Three-Member Jury that will comprise prominent artists & actors will be choosing the winner of the Golden Bear for the Best Short Film.
