Welcome It gives me great pleasure to be leading this Department for International Trade (DIT) and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) London trade mission to New York in partnership with The Ember Company and DIT New York. This is DIT London’s first strategy focused NYC trade mission.

The Ember Company are a New York based company who deliver strategy based workshops to help Fashion brands develop their US presence. Their industry experience and contacts ensure they have a unique offering. The Ember Company will deliver 2 days of bespoke programming for our delegates to include sessions on International Brand Strategy, Wholesale, Merchandising, Digital Marketing, Operations and Finance. The 3rd day will be organised by DIT New York and will include talks from logistics companies and possible buyer meetings.

We are proud to be taking such a diverse range of Men’s, Women’s and Beauty brands to New York.

We hope the schedule of events will provide a unique opportunity to refine their strategy and look at long term goals for scaling up their US business.

This trade mission is part funded by the Global Growth European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project.

Department for International Trade (DIT) London Region Reanna Bowman Reanna Bowman has worked as an International Trade Adviser within the Fashion team at DIT for 3 years. She works with a diverse range of London based companies, advising on all matters relating to International development and growth in new markets. Reanna has an industry specific skill set, with a background working in International Wholesale across Menswear, Womenswear and Childrenswear.

Alice Scott Alice Scott recently joined the DIT as International Trade Adviser offering support to a wide range of London fashion brands. Alice has considerable experience in international wholesale, range planning, account management and sales development across premium, high-street and street-wear in multiple export territories.

Department for International Trade (DIT) New York Stephanie Rothman Stephanie Rothman has been with DIT for over 3.5 years and is the US Retail Campaign Manager. She is based out of the British Consulate General in New York and is responsible for overseeing the US retail high-value trade & investment sector strategy. Stephanie also account manages a portfolio of retail clients to provide ongoing support for US/UK expansion. Stephanie holds in-depth knowledge across the retail sector with extensive experience in beauty, lifestyle, giftware, design and retail-tech.

Ashley Bell Ashley has a background in fashion PR, journalism, and marketing. She has worked with DIT New York since May 2017, working to assist fashion brands overcome in market barriers and build strategic, lasting partnerships.

She is originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina and a New Yorker for the last 10 years. She attended Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s in English and London College of Fashion with a concentration on fashion design.

Matt Jung

Avani is a Partner of The Ember Company. She has years of experience in the startup world in various capacities including as a founder, adviser, mentor and investor.

She recently served as Head of the Harvard Business School Startup Studio. In her work with Ember, Harvard Business School and other organisations, Avani has advised over five hundred entrepreneurs.

Matt is a Partner of The Ember Company. He has recently served as Interim CFO of Steven Alan and was previously Head of Strategy, Business Development and Investments at Dallimore & Co, a boutique advisory business for the specialty retail and apparel sector.

Prior to The Ember Company, Avani had a career as a corporate attorney with Arent Fox LLP and Brown Rudnick where she worked on multi-billion dollar mergers. She also founded a men's and women's contemporary clothing label when she was in law school. She holds an MBA from Columbia University, a JD from The Northwestern University School of Law and a BA from Loyola University.

Profile: A Fulton Company Ltd Fulton Umbrellas is the UK's largest umbrella supplier and is the only Royal Warrant holder to HM The Queen for umbrellas.

Bronwyn Lowenthal CEO & Owner

Established in 2002, Lowie's mission is to create beautiful clothes as ethically as possible. Founder Bronwyn Lowenthal started the company selling hand-knitted accessories made in Turkish villages.

Now the brand has two standalone stores, a handful of loyal wholesale accounts and a growing online business. From it's handicraft beginnings, Lowie uses these and other traditional manufacturing techniques to create, colourful fun womenswear collections with a focus on print and knitwear.

Objectives for this visit: Lowie looks forward to gaining insight into the US market and planning it's upcoming US strategy.
