Staying with a host family

Most students will stay with a host family at some point during their stay in the UK. We are very confident in the quality of our hosts; as an AEGIS Gold Standard accredited guardian we meet all requirements for NMS guidelines, but hearing about what makes the stay special – its clear it’s the connection between host and student!

Experiencing a traditional British Christmas is truly a wonderful experience for host and students alike. Our host Gareth was able to provide a Christmas away from home for 3 of our students; during the holiday they held dinner parties, visited Alton Towers and had a thrill seeking day on the rollercoasters, and of course there was a visit from Santa Claus and sang some Christmas carols.

Two of our students enjoyed their stay with our host Helen. In terms of location, it was a perfect fit for the boys who enjoy an active lifestyle. Helen’s home is on a river, and so the family and students were able to do water sports, go out on the boat and regularly play football together. Helen and her husband were able to provide traditional British and Chinese food, and the students and Helen’s children remain close friends.

Cyd has had experience of hosting a great variety of our students over the years. Together with her family they’ve celebrated many events; the Jubilee, Christmas, New Year and rainy beach trips. They even marked her Grandfather’s 92nd birthday with visits from previous and current students!
