Blackboard 101 - This is a student-centered event that will focus on Blackboard from the student’s perspective. Join Terry Peak for free pizza and learn how to navigate Blackboard, discuss the finer points of MyWord.

Noon – 1:00 pm Student Lunch and Learn GB212

Effective PowerPoint- This is a student-centered event that will focus on how to effectively share information with your audience using PowerPoint. At the end of this half-hour session, you will know the secrets to minimizing boredom and maximizing attention. In other words, you learn how to stop your PowerPoint presentation from becoming PowerPointless.

October 30

Noon – 1:00 pm Student Blackboard Lunch and Learn GB212

Blackboard 201- In this session, Terry will be explaining some of the finer points of the Blackboard LMS. Topics include accessing collaborative tools such as blogs and wikis, reviewing the student resource tab, and using the mashup tool. Attendees will be fed, which is perfect for that student whose wallet is empty after attending homecoming.

Where: AD 290 We are seeking on-air talent to help build and present our original programming throughout the semester.

Auditions are open to all currently enrolled UIW students, regardless of major.

Students interested in auditioning are advised to dress professionally for screen (similar to news anchors on WOAI/KENS/KSAT/etc.) and to familiarize themselves with the script prior to their audition.
