Master of Health Administration (MHA)

This degree provides an opportunity to achieve the professional competencies required for an accounting profession, and the credentials required to sit for the CPA examination.

Concentrations: - General - Finance - Marketing - Sport Management

With competency-based curriculum, this program prepares students for successful entry to management-level positions in the health administration field. Students have the option to learn on campus or in an online hybrid environment.

The MBA degree programs are accredited nationally by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) and regionally by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS COC).

Master of Science in Nutrition This program is designed to accommodate employed professionals pursuing an advanced degree, persons wishing to complete didactic requirements to apply to a dietetic internship, and those seeking continuing education in nutrition. University graduates have accepted positions in clinical and administrative dietetics, community nutrition, nutrition consulting, food service management, nutrition research, business, and secondary and college education.

Master of Arts in Communication Arts The Communication Arts program uses a unique blend of theorydriven and experienced-based classes where students acquire the knowledge and skills to enter the media industry. The program curriculum requires 36 hours of graduate study, which includes 12 hours of Communication Arts core courses.

The MBS is a master’s program designed to enhance the scientific knowledge of graduates who desire to pursue a professional degree in the biomedical sciences or in healthcare.

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) The DO program curriculum weaves content through two distinct (two-year) phases. Students benefit from weekly community engagement and early clinical experience.

The MSN offers the opportunity to complete clinical experiences with nurse leaders, develop expertise in financial management and strategic planning, and navigate a range of issues encountered in healthcare organizations.

Master of Science in Athletic Training The Master of Science in Athletic Training is an entry-level professional degree program for students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Master of Science in Kinesiology Designed for individuals in physical education and health and fitness related fields, this program offers insight into current topics, curricular development skills and testing related to kinesiology.

Master of Science in Sport Management Many graduates of sport management programs work in institutions of higher education in the student services area where facilities are managed and physical activities are programmed and supervised.

UIW’s three year full-time BSN to DNP track prepares students for a career as a nurse practitioner and offers two concentrations:

-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) -Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

The DNP degree provides a foundation for leadership development and refinement of clinical management skills for currently practicing nurses holding a Master of Science in Nursing. Students are expected to complete this program in five semesters.

Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration and Leadership (MA)

The MA in Criminal Justice Administration and Leadership is an accelerated graduate criminal justice program of applied instruction designed to teach students leadership skills relevant to criminal justice organizations.

Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA)

This program differs from the typical MBA in that it is designed for working professionals wanting to advance in their current job, change careers or start their own business.

Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)

The DBA creates scholar-practitioners who are able to provide meaningful contributions to the advancement of business research and practice. 100% Online.

Master of Arts in Teacher Leadership (MAT)

The MAT is designed for PK-12 teachers who want to continue in the classroom while assuming leadership roles in their school and community.

Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership (MSODL) This program provides convenient delivery design and formats for working professionals who seek the opportunity to complete a graduate organizational development and leadership degree plan.

Military and Veteran Benefits Active Duty

While Tuition Assistance covers tuition costs, the UIW School of Professional Studies (SPS) provides free textbooks to active duty military students. Other SPS benefits include accelerated eight-week courses, an accelerated four-week winter term, no proctored exams for online coursework and the removal of academic fees.

VA Education

The Yellow Ribbon Program is utilized in conjunction with a student’s Post 9-11 GI Bill®. UIW and VA will match tuition and fee expenses that exceed the VA annual cap for all eligible students.

Service

The curriculum includes a global perspective and an emphasis on social justice and community service.

Through these agreements, students may earn credit and additional scholarship opportunities while serving their country.

In 2021, the Military Times ranked UIW on its “Best for Vets” listing. The UIW Strategic Priority Initiative for military and veteran students was formed with students, faculty and staff to implement support for our military students.
