Eddie Green Commission Series
Today’s concert features the premieres of five new works for concert band as part of the Eddie Green Commission Series. Named in honor of the Director Emeritus of Wind Ensembles Eddie Green, the project has created five new pieces for varied grade levels and by diverse composers. The series is intended to continue growing the repertoire for concert band at all levels with music that can be played in band halls around the world.
The commissions have been led by composer Leroy Osmon and Director of Bands David Bertman and funded by the Eddie Green/Chad Collins Family Endowment.
For more information regarding the works including performance materials, please reach out to the University of Houston Band Department through Cameron Kubos at ckkubos@uh.edu or directly through the composers themselves.
