Mark Mobley is an award-winning writer, producer, programmer and performer. He received the Peabody Award as musical head of the public radio program Performance Today, and the ASCAP/ Deems Taylor Award for distinguished music journalism while at the Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk, Va., the state’s largest newspaper. He now serves as director of marketing and communications at the University of Georgia Performing Arts Center.

Mobley has appeared as a performer and lecturer with the Virginia Symphony, Richmond Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Virginia Arts Festival, La Jolla Music Society SummerFest, Washington Performing Arts Society and pianists Bruce Brubaker and David Robbins.

During a 12-concert hosting run with the Baltimore Symphony — a collaboration between the orchestra and the Baltimore Museum of Art, in which Mobley drew parallels between works in the museum’s collection and pieces of music — the Washington Post called him “informative, popculturally aware and breezily irreverent.” As a standup comic, Mobley has performed at Columbia University, Georgia State University and Baltimore Pride and hosted Hampton Roads Pride at Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach.

Mobley is known to Macon, Georgia audiences as the creator of What Color is Your Brother?, a documentary play with music about racial issues in the city; it was produced at the Macon Opera House by Mercer University’s McDuffie Center for Strings and the Youth Actors Company of Theatre Macon. Conductor Ward Stare also led the Rochester Philharmonic premiere of Mobley’s subsequent play True and Devoted, about the legacy of Susan B. Anthony in her home city, Rochester.

Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Nicholas Han earned his Undergraduate degree in Violin Performance at Central Washington University in 2020, and his Masters in Orchestral Conducting at Oklahoma State University in 2023. He is currently pursuing his Doctoral of Music Arts degree at University of Georgia.

In 2022, Nicholas was named assistant conductor for the Oklahoma Chamber Symphony and was the Apprentice Conductor for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic in May 2023. He also is currently the Cover Conductor for the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra. His recent conducting engagements include guest conducting LA Conducting Workshop and Competition Orchestra and Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra. During the summer of 2022, Nicholas was selected as one of 3 winners for the ICWC (International Conducting Workshop and Competition) in Atlanta, Georgia. He was also selected as a 1st place winner and received the Audience Prize in the LA Conducting Workshop and Competition in Garden Grove, California.

He has worked with Mark Gibson, Neil Thomson, Diane Wittery, and Philip Greenberg. His principal mentors include Nikolas Caoile, Thomas Dickey, Alexander Mickelthwate, and Mark Cedel.

R. Scott Mullen is a conductor and music educator, pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Georgia. Scott is a Doctoral Conducting Associate for UGA Bands, serving duties with the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and the Redcoat Marching Band. At the University of Georgia, Scott is the recipient of a Graduate School Research Fellowship and the Clementi Holder Student Development Fund. In 2025, his recording of Vital Sines by Viet Cuong with the UGA Wind Ensemble and the GRAMMY Award-winning chamber ensemble 8th Blackbird was selected for multiple broadcasts on NPR’s Performance Today.

Prior to UGA, Scott was a Graduate Assistant at the University of Central Florida, in Orlando, Florida. Scott was previously a teacher in Orange County Public Schools, and has maintained activities as an educator and clinician with band programs in Florida and Georgia. His professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education, the Georgia Bandmasters Association, The Florida Bandmasters Association, The College Band Directors National Association, Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity, and Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society.
