Marist Care’s 17th year of serving the less fortunate <Marist Care St Joseph Outreach to the Poor soup kitchens in Uitenhage are the longest running and efficient soup kitchens operated in town. It was established 17 years ago by Marist Care with the assistance of Joan Blewett (left) and the respective soup kitchen operators. It is supported by local businesses. Strict auditing, dedicated staff and loyal support of local business are the key contributors to its success.
<The father and daughter team, Spyros and Lalla Yerolemou) from Spyros Kwikspar are known through the years for their support of the Marist Care soup kitchens. They visited one of the St Joseph Outreach to the Poor soup kitchens to assist with the handing out of soup and bread. Seen on the photo are Lalla (second from left) and Spyros (right). A total of 150-200 people visit the soup kitchen on Tuesdays and Thursdays respectively.
