A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS

DAVID BENEDICT

Dear UConn Nation, As we look ahead to another year of Huskies Athletics, I want to personally thank you for the support and dedication you have shown to UConn Division of Athletics. Your passion and commitment to our programs helps build the foundation for success we strive to achieve. While we celebrate last year’s athletic and academic accomplishments, I encourage you to help continue our UConn tradition of excellence as we proceed to foster a bright future together. With last year’s unveiling of the new Husky Athletic Fund, we have made critical steps towards the funding and building of a new sports complex which will house our baseball, softball, and soccer teams. This complex will provide yet another world class facility to our beloved campus, allowing for our student-athletes to continue their pursuit of excellence. Each and every contribution to this effort makes a profound impact on the lives of our student athletes both in the classroom and during competition. Along with our new Priority Point System, The Husky Athletic Fund we implemented last year has helped in our pursuit of providing the best for UConn’s student-athletes. We believe the second year of our Husky Athletic Fund will continue to put an emphasis on unrestricted giving and the difference it makes for our student-athletes. This past academic year, UConn set the high mark in the American Athletic Conference by having 276 student-athletes selected to the Conference All-Academic Team. I am overjoyed by the commitment shown by our student-athletes to their academic endeavors. The effort displayed by the studentathletes in the classroom gives them a terrific platform from which they can build on and succeed in their post-collegiate lives. I hope, by reading this donor guide, you will consider making a gift that will continue to support the enrichment of our UConn student-athletes in all areas of life. Operating a 24-sport program with over 650 student-athletes is an effort that would be impossible without your generous support. Your contributions are integral to our success and put true meaning to the words, “Students today. Huskies forever.” Thank you again for your consideration and generosity. Go Huskies!

2018-19 DONOR GUIDE

SCHOLARSHIPS One of our goals at UConn is to provide our student-athletes with the best experience in the country and we accomplish this goal through the Husky Annual Scholarship Fund. Your donation to the Husky Annual Scholarship Fund directly supports UConn’s student-athletes and the funds raised help cover the costs of rising expenses like tuition, fees, books and room & board. To ensure UConn’s continued success, it’s vital to increase scholarships and we can do so by encouraging individuals who share our commitment, passion and vision for the Husky Annual Scholarship Fund.

NEW HUSKY FACILITIES World-class facilities are integral to fulfilling UConn’s vision. When we invest in state-of-the-art facilities, we not only support our student-athletes in their training and performance, but we also strive to create an excellent gameday experience for our fans. In 2018-19, UConn will break ground on the new baseball, softball, and soccer facilities. To maintain the level of excellence, UConn Division of Athletics must strive to exceed national standards in all facets; from academic achievement to the development of state-of-the-art athletic facilities. Currently, major facilities for nearly every program exist on-site including track and field, lacrosse, football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, hockey and swimming and diving. Many of UConn’s athletics programs are in need of upgrades to facilities, either to address deferred maintenance in existing buildings, expand event seating capacity or provide more desirable space to attract top student-athletes to the University. First-class facilities are essential for recruiting and sustaining the most talented student-athletes. Investing in the improvement of UConn’s Division of Athletics and its facilities will enhance the student-athlete experience and provide greater opportunities for our teams to compete for championships.

ENDOWMENT RECOGNITION Endowments provide a way for UConn Division of Athletics to ensure long-term success by making sure there will be sufficient income to support our studentathletes long into the future. This endowment program helps in supporting scholarships and is one of the most significant ways to invest in the future of UConn student-athletes. These endowments assist in providing the funds for athletic scholarships across all athletic programs and funding an endowment leaves a lasting impression on UConn Division of Athletics and the student-athletes. Making a gift today to the athletic endowment at UConn will provide a permanent source of income to support student-athletes and allow them to compete for championships.

RECOGNIZING ENDOWMENT DONORS Donors to the endowment program are among UConn Division of Athletics most important supporters. Donors of scholarships and coaching chairs may be recognized in special ways for their outstanding generosity such as: • The donor’s name is permanently associated with a scholarship endowment or coaching chair. • Donors will be recognized at a home football or basketball game. • Recognition is provided on the UConn Athletic website, UConnHuskies.com. • The donor will have the opportunity to meet the student-athlete or coach selected to receive the endowed scholarship or chair.

2018-19 DONOR GUIDE

The University of Connecticut is rich in tradition, pride, and excellence. I feel fortunate every day to be a part of the Husky family and help our student-athletes learn and grow. UConn offers our students exposure to an elite faculty base, challenges their minds to form critical thinking skills, and prepares them for their future career path. As a studentathlete, they have the opportunity to compete both in the classroom and on the field, forming lifelong relationships and teamwork skills that will serve them throughout their lives. JEN MCINTYRE Head Coach, Softball

Points and/or season tickets may not be transferred from one person to another or from one account to another. Also, the University does not transfer priority points or tickets by the virtue of wills. In the event of the death of an account holder or season ticket holder, the surviving spouse (the definition of spouse is consistent with applicable federal

law) retains the priority points, providing the surviving spouse is on the account at the time of death. No other immediate family members, friends or other entities will qualify for a transfer of priority points or tickets. Priority Point System policies and procedures are subject to change.

POSTSEASON & BASKETBALL TICKETS POSTSEASON TICKETS AND SPECIAL EVENTS Tickets for away games, bowl games, postseason tournaments and special events will be allocated by priority points. Current athletics donors (a minimum of $100 commitment) will be ranked in order of priority points and then tickets are assigned. Priority ticket quantities will be determined by annual donor level. The NCAA and American Athletic Conference provides a limited number of tickets to each participating institution for postseason events. Specific seat locations are determined by the NCAA/conference. UConn endeavors to accommodate as many donors as possible based on the number of tickets we receive from the NCAA/ conference. Tickets will be distributed based on availability.

BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETS Season tickets will go on sale in early May, with a deadline of July 16. Seat locations for season tickets will be based upon your priority points. Beginning July 30, all season ticket accounts that ordered by the priority deadline will have the opportunity to go online and personally select their season ticket seat locations.

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS CURRENT AND NEW FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS Upon the renewal or purchase of season tickets for 2018, season ticket holders will have the option to upgrade/ relocate or select their season ticket seat locations using an online seat selection process which begins May 14.
