University of Connecticut Head Coach Bob Goldberg 2010-11 University of Connecticut Swimming and Diving

Head Coach Bob Goldberg 23rd Season • Record: 309-116-3 “I remember a professor I once had in college tell us about being a ‘professional’, and that in your 40 year career you can do one thing, 40 times over, or have 40 great and new experiences over that same time” says UConn head swimming and diving coach Bob Goldberg. “I have always tried to remember that philosophy and have it guide me through my years of coaching. In each and every year at UConn as the head coach of the Huskies, I have reminded myself of that approach and respected it. While certainly there are many things that I know work, and out of necessity we ‘recycle’ those successful ideas and things, I hope I can always add a new wrinkle to the week and to the year, and by doing that keep the team, and myself, fresh and excited!” University of Connecticut head men’s and women’s swimming and diving coach Bob Goldberg is entering his 23rd season with the Huskies, and last season surpassed the 300 win mark in his time at UConn with a record of 5-2 for the men and 6-2 for the women. The team also had additional good showings at the Terrapin Cup in November and the Rutgers Diving Invitational in December and the BIG EAST Conference meet in February. In addition both the men’s and women’s program were recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association as Academic All America Teams based on their overall team grade point average. In fact, the women’s nearly 3.4 team GPA was one of the best in the women’s program history. Goldberg is quick to point out that credit for the team’s successes comes from a hard working staff of coaches in the pool, a great academic support program headed by swimming’s long time academic advisor John Miceli and quality training room and weight room personnel and support. But, as coach Goldberg comments, “finding success at UCONN is not hard to do because we are fortunate to have such a great group of studentathletes in our program!” Goldberg’s philosophy has always been one that stresses consistency as a main ingredient towards achieving personal and team goals and finding success in the sport. As it is so often said, life is a marathon not a sprint…and that is the philosophy that the UConn program is built on. Goldberg feels it is so important to train hard and train consistently every day. “We seldom take extra days off and we maintain a vision of season long goals,” says Goldberg. “We try not to get too emotional over a particularly good day or bad day. I try to impart the idea to the team that it is their ‘total body of work’ over a week, a month, a season and a career that is far more impactful than any one day or any one race. We want to be good today, but we also want to be good for a long time to come…and being good over a long period of time is the definition of consistency.” That approach has allowed UConn swimming and diving, both the men and women, to post only one loosing season under Goldberg, and that was his very first one in Storrs when he took over the program in October 1988. Since then the Huskies have been consistent winners, swimmers have been updating and improving the school record board every year, the team has been finding success in the conference championships and has been successful in sending swimmers to national level meets including US Open, US Senior Nationals and NCAA’s as well as various international meets where UConn swimmers represent the Huskies. Recently the Huskies have been represented at the Canadian National Championships (Alex Davidson, Karim Zayed, Kyungsoo Yoon, Kim Fleming, Courtney Gregorian and Jon Wong), Israeli National Championships (Ofri

Brenner), Irish National Championships (Barry Hoey), Polish National Championships (Tomasz Sobek), Australian National Championships (Tristan Jones, Bobby Folan) and the World Swimming Championships (Jon Wong) as a sample of the meets that have had UConn swimmers participate. Goldberg’s success with college athletes goes back to the 1970’s, but his reflections on his successes is different than most however. “I have been blessed in my career by working at great schools that attract a very high quality student athlete,” says Goldberg. “When I think of my most successful athletes, I think of swimmers and divers who had all the qualities of success instilled in them long before they came to college and it was clearly obvious in the recruiting process. I was the fortunate one who was able to benefit as a coach from their natural talent and their great upbringing. Two time Olympic Bronze Medalist Mary Ellen Clark, for example, had all the tools to be great and I was the fortunate one who got to watch her grow. The same is true for so many here, and at the risk of leaving out a few that should be mentioned, they include recent UConn swimmers like Adrian Astiz, Hilliary Krug, Barry Hoey, Ryan Smith, Courtney Haney, Tristan Jones, Kate Larson and others who had those same traits, the drive and desire to be good. Again this year at UConn we have so many swimmers like Caitlin Gallagher, Alex Davidson, Jordan Bowen, Mary deMarrais and Karim Zayed who understand that it takes work to be good and are willing to do that work because they want to be good.” Goldberg’s career began at Arlington (Mass) High School, continued with fifteen years coaching and teaching at Penn State, three years in administration at North Carolina State and the last 22 years coaching at UConn. “Growing up in New England and coming back to UConn where I remember competing when I was in college has felt like coming home.” Goldberg is a graduate of Springfield College where he was fortunate to be mentored by one of the most respected coaches in the country at that time in Charles Silvia. “Coach Silvia based his coaching on an understanding of sound scientific principles and passed along those thoughts and ideas to so many of us who wanted to be coaches. He prepared us well by being sure as coaches we understood the difference between fad and fancy, fact and fiction.” A native of Watertown, Mass., Goldberg and his wife Alyce live in Mansfield, Conn. They have three children, David and his family who live in Austin, Texas, Scott and his family who live in Cincinnati, and Sarah and her family who live in South Windsor, Conn.

Head Diving Coach John Bransfield 13th Season Now entering his 13th season directing the UConn diving program in 2010-2011, John Bransfield is coming off yet another successful season on the boards. Bransfield coached graduated senior Steven Ferreira, who won the NCAA Zone three meter diving championship and took place in the NCAA National Championship. Ferreira became the first member of the UConn men’s swimming and diving program to compete at the national NCAA meet. . Along with Ferreira, UConn divers had a terrific championship run last season. Every diver scored at the BIG EAST Championship, and five made the finals. Ferreira and freshman Danielle Cecco made the All-BIG EAST team finishing in third Place. Cecco was also in the top six on both boards at the NCAA Zone Meet. In 2008-09, Bransfield coached Liza Marianni to an appearance in her fourth NCAA Zone Diving Championships and a third All-BIG EAST Selection. Developing champions is not something new to the 2006 BIG EAST Women’s Diving Coach of the Year. In his 34 years of coaching, Bransfield has had many conference champions and at least one conference champion at each and every school that he has worked at, including Army, Maine, Springfield College and Northern Michigan. He has coached several national qualifiers including a four-time NCAA Division II

Janelle Atkinson Wingnall Assistant Coach Janelle Atkinson Wignall is in her first year as an assistant coach at UConn in 2010-11 after spending the previous four seasons at Wright State. The 1999-2000 National High School Swimmer of the Year, Atkinson Wignall earned 10 All-America honors while competing at the University of Florida. She also received three First Team All-Southeastern Conference accolades and had three top-three finishes in three years at the NCAA Championships. Atkinson Wignall was part of three SEC championships and was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll four times. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Atkinson Wignall finished fourth in the 400 freestyle at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia, placing ninth in the 800 freestyle as well, and competed in the 2004 games in Athens, Greece. In 2002, the Jamaica native won a pair of bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games held in Manchester, England. She reached the podium in both the 400 and 800 freestyle events. In 2001, Atkinson Wignall claimed a silver medal in the 800 freestyle and a bronze medal in the 400 freestyle event at the Goodwill Games in Brisbane, Australia. She was a triple silver medalist at the 1999 Pan-American Games in Winnipeg, Canada, and took part in the 2003 games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She was also a seven-time recipient of the Jamaican Swimmer-of-the-Year award and a six-time nominee for the Jamaican Sportswoman of the Year. Before coming to Wright State in August 2006, Atkinson Wignall worked a year as a community relations officer for the Jamaica Information Services in Washington, D.C., and was an assistant coach at Western Kentucky University before that. On the international scene, Atkinson Wignall was selected as the head coach for the Jamaican National Team at the 2009 Swimming World Championships in Rome, Italy. Atkinson Wignall earned a bachelor’s degree in tourism and hospitality management from Florida in 2005.

Champion. In 2003, Melissa Kull became the first Connecticut diver to compete at the NCAA National Championship. This year’s divers are led on the men’s side by a three divers who competed at the NCAA Zone Regionals last year Brad Schott, Grant Fecteau and Adam Genuario. The women divers will be young and led by NCAA Zone finalist Danielle Cecco. Bransfield’s background extends beyond the collegiate realm of diving. He enjoyed many years of success with U.S. Diving as a Junior Olympic coach, and was the recipient of a stipend in 1988 to work with two U.S Olympic Coaches. In 1992, Bransfield was appointed as a Regional Technical Director of United States Diving, and while at West Point, hosted numerous clinics for U.S Diving Coaches. In 1998 he served as the Competition Manager of the Goodwill Games in New York. Bransfield has taught numerous coaching clinics for Grass Roots fundamentals, Spotting Training and Safety Certification and he currently serves on the NCAA Diving Rules Subcommittee. In the summer of 2003, Bransfield spent close to three weeks in the People’s Republic of China. The opportunity allowed him to closely observe the training programs at two Provincial sites and attend the Asian Junior Championships. Bransfield is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., where he received his bachelor’s degree from St. Francis College. He earned a master’s at Northern Michigan University and continued to study biomechanics while at Springfield College. Bransfield and his wife, Ginny, have four sons, and presently reside in Storrs.

Tyson Hurst Assistant Coach Tyson Hurst, a 2005 graduate of Oregon State who most recently served as an assistant coach at Indiana for the past season, is in his first season as an assistant men’s and women’s swimming coach at UConn in 2010-11. At Indiana, Hurst was involved in a number of areas in the program, such as efficiency in technique, developing daily workouts and implementing progressive power-training regimens. Hurst also worked in Member Services at the Campus Recreational Sports Office at Indiana. Hurst was a coach for the Cascade Aquatic Swim Club in Redmond, Ore., from 2007 to 2009 and was the swimming coach at Redmond High School from 2006 to 2009. He graduated from Oregon State with a degree in music in 2005 and earned a master’s in music education in 2006. While at Oregon State, he coached teams on the novice, age group and senior level.

John Hogan Assistant Coach Former University of Connecticut swimmer John Hogan is in his first year as a member of the Husky coaching staff. Originally, a walk-on at UConn, Hogan now holds the school record in the 500-yard freestyle and also holds the second-best school time in the 200-yard freestyle. He qualified for the BIG EAST Conference Championship in all four of his years at UConn and was also a U.S. Open qualifier. A team captain in 2009-10, Hogan was a threetime BIG EAST Academic All-Star. A native of Walkersville, Md., Hogan graduate with a degree in resource economics.

Cynthia Dumaine Assistant Diving Coach A native of Southern California, 2010-2011 is Cynthia Dumaine’s second season as an assistant diving coach at UConn. She was a nine-year member of the diving team at Los Coyotes Country Club and was a high school conference champion at Buena Park High School. A graduate of California-Fullerton, she and her husband Mike have four grown children and reside in East Windsor, Conn. Her brother, Jeff Huber, is the long-time head diving coach at Indiana. 2010-11 UConn Swimming and Diving

he 2010-11 version of the University of Connecticut men’s swimming and diving team is one that head coach Bob Goldberg has been waiting for a long time. There have been some great individual swimmers and some really good teams that have come through the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium doors at UConn, but Goldberg feels this could be one of the best. “This team is not relying any one person and that is what could make this team so special,” says Goldberg. “We have talent from top to bottom, and while perhaps we don’t have a potential record holder in every event, we can challenge our records in just about any event. When I look at our lineup I see no holes, no weaknesses and no liabilities. Of course, that infers that everyone has to do their job in their events, perform up to expectations and stay healthy, but I think this group wants to do just that!” There are losses to graduation that the Huskies must make up for. At the diving end, a big loss comes from the graduation of NCAA qualifier Steve Ferreira. Also gone is World Swimming Championship competitor Jon Wong and UConn Club Outstanding Senior Athlete John Hogan. Also missing will be proven relay star Bill Magin and breaststroker– IM’er Steve Kustra. The undisputed leader of the team and co captain is senior Alex Davidson (Pointe-Claire, Que.). One of the hardest workers ever for the Huskies, Davidson owns the records in the 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke. He has earned All-BIG EAST Conference honors and has had outstanding success during his career at his home Canadian Nationals, finishing in the top eight nationally several times. “Alex has his sights set on the NCAA qualifying mark of 1:44 for the 200-yard backstroke, and while very difficult to achieve, I believe he can go that fast,” says Goldberg. Equally hard working is fellow co-captain Tim Krompinger (New Fairfield, Conn.). “There are times I have to hold Tim back in his training so he can rest enough for meets,” says Goldberg. The third member of this class is Tomasz Sobek (Siemianowice Slaskie, Poland), a gifted breaststroker who has yet to reach his potential despite owning UConn records. NCAA times are within Sobek’s reach. Like the seniors, there are only three juniors on this year’s team, but they are very important members. Nick Majtenyi (St. Catherines, Ont.) has evolved into one of the most accomplished swimmers on the team in freestyle and fly and has the added influence of

being one of the academic study group leaders for the Huskies. The other study group leader is Matt Connor (Venetia, Pa.), whose best event is the 400 IM with strong breaststroke events. Mitch Dansky (Winchendon, Mass.) is the third member of the class with skill in mid-distance and distance freestyle along with good butterfly and backstroke. These three performers can cover a lot of events and will be counted on this year and next for their leadership skills. The sophomores are an intimidating group of swimmers with a big impact on the Huskies. These eight performers can comprise a team of their own and as they go, so will the fortunes of the Huskies. Jeremy Ramshaw (Mississauga, Ont.) has unlimited potential for UConn as he can swim about everywhere and Goldberg is still unsure what his best event may be. With great backstroke and IM, he also has had some impressive freestyle times. Joe Glowacki (Erie, Pa.) is one of the best all- around athletes on the team and is quickly becoming a force in the butterfly and free events. He could certainly step into the hole left by Magin on the relays. Sean Cook (Doylestown, Pa.) is another versatile swimmer who will continue to improve in backstroke, but needs to give equal time to his freestyle. Kyungsoo Yoon (Toronto, Ont.) can do everything - sprint, swim mid-distance free and is strong in several strokes – and has strong potential in all of them. “Kyungsoo can certainly qualify for the NCAAs with the right race,” says Goldberg. The final three members of this class have not yet swum for the Huskies despite being sophomores and that makes Goldberg very excited. Nick Cerra (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) fractured his wrist early last year and had to do rehabilitation all season. He is a quality butterflier and IMer. Jens Peter Traff is a transfer from Denmark. His freestyle, breaststroke and backstroke are all great. The coaching staff has waited for Karim Zayed (Montreal, Que.) to race for the Huskies for over a year as he did not compete last season. The freshmen are an unusually large group for the Huskies, but are full of talented swimmers. Asher Garcia (Pinecrest, Fla.) will be heard from in several events while Keith Piper (Naperville, Ill.) is only a few weight room workouts away from becoming an outstanding backstroker. Sean Battle (Allison Park, Pa.) has some great high school times and will play a role, as will distance freestyler Zach Coleman (Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.). Ben Yacano (Glen Allen, Va.) had a great Juniors last summer and has an impressive butterfly. Adam McNally (Leominster, Mass.) is from neighboring Massachusetts and has quality potential in the breaststroke. “With new coaches, a challenging and difficult schedule and a talented team there is a lot of energy and optimism around the team and pool this year,” says Goldberg. “I feel that Tyson Hurst and Janelle Wignall Atkinson are great assistant coaches and UConn record holder John Hogan will be an invaluable coaching asset since he ‘knows the ropes’ so well and has a very high swimming IQ. “We have a team of veterans who want to be good and know what it takes to get there, and we have a group of young swimmers trying to make their mark on an already established team. Everyday they are pushing each other to get faster, tougher and better. Guiding them are several pairs of coaching eyes who have a great deal of experience and their sights set on producing excellence! The result will be a pretty high quality team at our BIG EAST Conference meet in February and some post-season swims that will make UConn proud.” The diving side of the team lost a talented performer in Steve Ferreira from last year, but return a solid group. Senior Adam Genuario (Norwalk, Conn.) was a BIG EAST finalist on the three-meters last year while sophomore Sophomore Grant Fecteau (Delmar, N.Y.) was a BIG EAST finalist on the one-meter and made cuts at the NCAA Zone meet. Junior Brad Schott (Wilton, Conn.) will look to make the conference and zone meets while newcomer junior Anthony Cortright will also be a factor.

Sophomore Mary DeMarrais can excel for UConn in a number of different events.

he University of Connecticut women’s swimming and diving team for 2010-11 looks to be a repeat of the same high quality swimmers of the teams that the Huskies has been blessed with in recent years. Head coach Bob Goldberg has been able to maintain a consistent flow of swimmers who have the skills and the goals of competing at their highest level. The team has had the work ethic and motivation to work towards constant personal improvement and women have the pride to represent the Huskies in the best manner possible. With so many swimmers at UConn on the same page, it is no wonder that the women maintain such a high level of performance. Goldberg proudly reinforces the fact that they have produced a high level of performance both in the pool as well as in the classroom under the guidance of academic advisor John Miceli. Leading the group of Huskies this year are three member of the senior class. Co-captain Kate Baust (Reistertown, Md.)has been a top performer for the Huskies in each of her first three seasons. She is a gifted breaststroker who can swim in the IM events and is also very good in the sprint freestyle. She has clearly stepped up as a swimmer and as a leader being elected as a team captain. Her fellow co-captain is Sophie Staskiewicz (Riverdale, N.Y.), who can swim in so many events including all the freestyle events and both butterflies. Staskiewicz is also a role model in all phases of training as she is a very accomplished performer in the Huskies dry land program as well. Emily Luchansky (Shelton, Conn.) is the third member of this group and has seen good improvement in her backstroke events and will become a factor this season for the Huskies. “This senior class has been here for three year and seen a lot of very good swimming,” says Goldberg. “They know what it takes to excel and are willing to lead this group in that direction.” The juniors are a major part of this team and carry a large part of the responsibility for how far this team will go. Ali Aserlind (Coral Gables, Fla.) is a quality backstroker and mid-distance freestyler, who shows a great deal of dedication to the program everyday. She is a top student, a learning group leader and talented swimmer. Aserlind sets high standards for herself as well as those around her. Samantha Cisneros (Garden Grove, Calif.) is another top student who excels in all things that she does. Last year was a good year for Cisneros as her free and IM showed real improvement. Erin DeVinney (Avondale, Ariz.) has set her sights on erasing her sister Katie’s name from the record board at UConn is the 200-yard butterfly -- as well as establishing a new mark on the DeVinney’s sisters record board. Balancing her commitment as a nursing major with a commitment to swimming has been something that DeVinney has done very well and been successful with at UConn. One of the emerging stars for the Huskies is Caitlin Gallagher (Lawrence, Kansas). Over the last two years, she has shown improvement is all areas and now Gallagher will focus mainly on breaststroker in an effort to advance to the NCAAs. Hannah Kelly (West Hartford, Conn.) has shown steady progress in her IM events and should continue to score for the Huskies. Ye Ling (Lake Worth, Fla.) emerged last year to set the school record in the 50-yard freestyle and can continue to lower that mark as her sprints are needed for the relays. The final member of this group is Chelsea Peitz (Fenton, Mich.) who continues to improve in the butterfly events and is a team leader in many areas outside of the pool. “These six athletes are great representatives of UConn swimming, UConn athletics and college swimming in general,” says Goldberg. “I am proud of what they have accomplished in their time here and look forward to see them continue to improve for the next two years” The sophomore class for the UConn are another very impressive group and will make some noise this year with one year’s experience under their belt

Jordan Bowen (Lake Elmo, Mich.) is one of the quality athletes in this group and a lot is expected from her. “Swimming a career best 4:49 in her 500-yard freestyle was no accident from Jordan and she can go faster in that event and all her freestyle events,” says Goldberg. Hard on her heals are a group of very fast swimmers in several events led by Mary DeMarrais (Bernardsville, N.J.). “Mary’s best swimming is ahead of her in so many ways and I am happy to be able to be here to watch her improve. We just have to decide which of her many events is best for her,” says Goldberg. Another emerging star is Kate Dobler (Pittsford, N.Y.). Coming out of ‘nowhere’ onto the college scene, Dobler made fabulous strides last year and stayed on campus to get stronger this summer. Kim Fleming (Mississauga, Ont.) anchored the backstroke last year and had a productive summer in Canadian swimming. “I expect great things from Kim in backstroke this year,” says Goldberg. Maddie Froehlich (Hamden, Conn.) made a great contribution in the IM’s last year and looks to continue to do so this year. Another key swimmer is Nicole Frost (Norco, Calif.), who swam well last year and is needed in the sprint events, but has to rebound from an injury last season. Savitri Horrigan (Westport, Conn.) is a quality breaststroker who can be a factor at the BIG EAST Conference meet. A surprise for the Huskies last year was McGuire Kelly (West Hartford, Conn.) in the freestyle events and with continued improvements is hoping to be under 5:00 this year in her 500-yard freestyle. A backstroker with some potential is Tanya Lama (Monterrey, Mexico) who can improve to BIG EAST Conference standards this year. The final two members of this year’s large class are Isabelle Nat (Barrie, Ont.), who has quality potential in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle, and Kate O’Leary (Brookfield, Conn.), who can swim any number of events including free and breaststroke. “Isabelle and Kate, along with the rest of this class are all quality people, quality swimmers and a group I love to be around,” says Goldberg. “I am happy they are sophomore because they have one year of experience under their belt and know what to expect and, as sophomores, I will have three more years to be around and enjoy them.” The freshmen class is small in numbers but a talented group of three swimmers. “We really did not have a lot of room on the team so we focused on a few athletes that would help us and are really happy with them,” says Goldberg. Catie Chang (Savage, Minn.) can swim everywhere and will contribute in the IM and breaststroke, but has a competitive freestyle as well. Kati Kyle (Lithia, Fla.) has a great backstroke and big-time potential in the event with good underwater technique and a strong stroke. Courtney Gregorian (Burlington, Ont.) has a great butterfly stroke with potential to go under 2:00 in the 200-yard butterfly. “These are three swimmers who can make an immediate impact on our program at the BIG EAST Conference level. Every day I watch our women train and I know what our potential can be,” says Goldberg “Everyday I also hear them talk about their personal and team goals and I am excited for them. If we can put together their goals and their potential on the same day, we can and will be a very good team.” On the diving side, there are a number of talented performers. Sophomore Danielle Cecco (Hickville, N.Y.) had an outstanding first season as she finished in third place at the BIG EAST in the three-meter event, to earn All-Conference honors, and made the consolation round in the one-meter. At the NCAA Zones, she was fourth in the three-meters and sixth on the one-meter. Senior Jessica Hovancik (Valatie, N.Y.) was a consolation finalist at the BIG EAST meet as a sophomore, but missed most of last year with an injury. She will look to rebound this year. Junior Kelly McCauley (Cortland Manor, N.Y.) made the consolation finals at BIG EASTs last year and will look for continued improvement while sophomore Nicole Borriello (Montgomery, N.Y.) made the consolation finals at the BIG EAST meet as a freshman and qualified for the NCAA Zone meet. It has never been a question of if he is good enough, just weather he has prepared enough.

Sophie Staskiewicz Senior Free/Back Riverdale, N.Y./Riverdale Country AGUA One of the best athletes on the team, has ability in many events including sprint through mid distance free and both fly events. She is important to the team as a swimmer and team co-captain.

Can become one of the best swimmers in UConn history. Nearly set several freestyle and breaststroke records last year and can do it this year with increased strength. Has ability beyond the BIG EAST Conference level with proper training.

University of Connecticut Wolff-Zackin Natatorium 2010-11 University of Connecticut Swimming and Diving

he Wolff-Zackin Natatorium is home to the University of Connecticut men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs. The 39,000-square foot natatorium provides one of the finest facilities on the East Coast. Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are the only varsity programs housed in the facility. The Natatorium was built in part of the university’s $28 million Sports Center Complex, which also includes the 171,000-square foot Harry A. Gampel Pavilion, home to the UConn men’s and women’s basketball and women’s volleyball programs. It features several high-tech innovations making the pool one of the fastest in the region. The facility is a 50-meter “stretch pool” that includes two moveable bulkheads, allowing the pool to assume several different configurations. The standard collegiate length of 25 yards can be used in an all-deepwater course in the Wolff-Zackin pool, featuring eight-foot wide lanes and a flow-through bulkhead. A second bulkhead provides an enclosed warm-up and warm-diving area, while also allowing for a separate diving area. The diving area includes two one-meter boards and two three-meter boards mounted on concrete. A dry board and trampoline with spotting rigs, and one and three-meter boards with rigs over the top makes for excellent training. Some of the other features of the Wolff-Zackin Natatorium include a state-of-the-art Colorado Electronic Timing System V, men’s and women’s team record boards, a videotape replay system and an underwater viewing window. In addition, there are individual coaches’ offices, men’s and women’s varsity locker rooms and visiting team locker rooms. The spectator area can accommodate 800 Husky fans. Adjacent to the Natatorium is Brundage Pool which is available to UConn coach Goldberg and his staff to enhance the Husky training program. Between the two pools, the Huskies have 18 lanes available to them for training purposes.

The $14 million remodeling of Connecticut’s athletic facilities included complete renovation of Brundage Pool, extending and expanding the great facilities UConn has to offer its swimming and diving programs. The Wolff-Zackin Natatorium houses a terrific training facility for divers on the UConn team. There are two one-meter boards and two three-meter boards on shorts stands, with a spotting rig above each level. On deck, there is a dry board and a trampoline, each with a spotting rig, along with two state-of-theart camera/Tivo systems and flat screen televisions for each side. As part of the remodeled athletic complex project, UConn swimmers have the use of a new, state-of-the-art 6,000-square foot weight room, featuring all of the latest in strength and conditioning equipment. The Huskies also have daily access to a spacious athletic training facility with the latest technology for rehabilitating athletic injuries.

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

DEPARTMENT OF SPORTS MEDICINE

The Department of Sports Medicine in the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics works as an integrated multidisciplinary team whose purpose is to provide the optimal, safe environment for all student-athletes to train and participate in their sport. The staff takes great pride in the individual attention paid to each student-athlete. They are devoted to preventing injury, rapidly diagnosing and treating injury and maximizing athletic performance. The disciplines of athletic training, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, orthopedic sports medicine, optometry, nutrition, exercise physiology and psychology work in concert to provide comprehensive care. The team is spearheaded by Robert Howard, MA, ATC, the head athletic trainer. Catie Dann, ATC handles the day-to-day needs of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams for the third year. Physician coverage is led by Dr. Jeffrey Anderson, the Director of Sports Medicine, and Team Physician, Dr. Thomas Trojian. The Orthopedic Sports Medicine Specialists for the team include: Dr. Michael Joyce of the Orthopedic Sports Specialists in Glastonbury; Dr. Barry Messinger; and Dr. Robert Arciero and Dr. Augustus Mazzocca of the University of Connecticut Health Center Department of Orthopedics in Farmington. The Department of Sports Medicine works closely with the Departments of Kinesiology and Nutritional Sciences on the University of Connecticut campus. This affords the student-athletes with the input of several nationally recognized exercise scientists. This cooperation also keeps the sports medicine staff at the cutting edge of developments in the fields of human performance and sports nutrition. Members of the sports medicine staff are actively engaged in research that directly benefits the care of the football student-athletes. The Department of Sports Medicine at the University of Connecticut plays a critical role in assuring that all UConn student-athletes have access to the best medical support and health care possible. Through patient care and ongoing research and education, the department continues to provide Husky teams a competitive edge from the medical perspective.

he strength and conditioning program for the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics is under the supervision of UConn Strength and Conditioning Coordinator Jerry Martin. The Strength and Conditioning staff services all 24 of Connecticut’s intercollegiate teams. UConn athletes have the use of two different weight rooms in the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion and the newly remodeled Hugh S. Greer Field House. In all, there are over 8,000 square feet of weight training facilities available for all UConn swimming and diving athletes. The weight room in the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is a free weight facility and supplies the Husky athletes areas in which to perform their power and Olympic lifts. The facility in the Greer Field House is fitted with more free weights in which the UConn athletes can incorporate circuit training, speed training and heavy negative workouts into their total strength training program. Each program is manipulated in order to fulfill the specific needs of the individual. Specific programs are developed to monitor progress in strength, power, anaerobic conditioning and flexibility. This format provides the coaches and medical staff with an accurate athletic profile on each swimming and diving athlete.

COUNSELING PROGRAM FOR INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETES

stablished in 1986, the Counseling Program for Intercollegiate Athletes (CPIA) provides comprehensive academic support to all UConn student-athletes. Since 1989, John Miceli has served as the counselor for the men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams. A nationally certified sports counselor and Connecticut-licensed professional counselor, John monitors student-athlete academic performance, counsels individuals regardJohn Miceli ing major/career options, facilitates registration CPIA Counselor in courses that accommodate practice times while ensuring progress toward a degree, coordinates tutor support (readily available to all student-athletes upon their request), and assists student-athletes in the development of learning and time management skills. The University of Connecticut swimming and diving team takes great pride in the academic and leadership accomplishments of its team members. The women’s team consistently has been recognized for academic excellence by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA). Individually, Lindsay Hansen (2004), and Kydani Dover (2005), were honored with the Kinsman Award (CPIA’s highest award recognizing academic and athletic achievement and improvement, service, leadership, perseverance, and character). Similarly, the men have captured three of the last seven Kinsman Awards, with Craig Orski winning in 2003 and Bobby Folan in 2005 and Tristan Jones in 2007. Folan was also selected by the NCAA as the sole UConn representative to its 2005 Leadership Conference.

Community Service and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics believes that the responsibilities of student-athletes reach beyond classrooms, libraries, fields and courts. Community service is an integral part of the UConn experience as Husky student-athletes contribute countless hours each year to a number of worthy causes. Much of this community service is coordinated through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs are highly-involved in the SAAC. The 200304 SAAC president was Kate Jelus from the women’s team. The 2006-07 vice-president was free-styler Emily Karel. The Committee consists of representatives from each one of UConn’s intercollegiate athletic teams and in addition to community service, it promotes fellowship and camaraderie between student-athletes from different sports. The SAAC also holds an annual Talent Show for freshman studentathletes and an ice cream social at the end of each semester during the study period for final exams.

niversity of Connecticut President Philip E. Austin led the University of Connecticut through a period of unprecedented academic and physical growth. Dr. Austin became the thirteenth President of the University of Connecticut at the beginning of the academic year in the fall of 1996 and retired from that position in the fall of 2007. He is currently serving as the interim president of the University of Connecticut. As the University’s chief executive, Dr. Austin oversaw the implementation of a $2.8 billion infrastructure renewal and improvement program, including the $1 billion UCONN 2000 program approved by the State of Connecticut in 1995, the $1.3 billion 21st Century UConn program signed into law in 2002 and extending through 2015, and additional construction supported by other public and private sources. Dr. Austin’s commitment to academic excellence led to an increase in student quality and diversity as UConn has become a school of choice for high achieving students. During his tenure, the freshmen class in Storrs grew from 2,021 students to 3,260, a 61% increase. At the same time, minority freshmen enrollment was up 111%, average SAT scores have rose 76 points and 635 valedictorians and salutatorians enrolled at UConn. Every year since 1999, U.S. News and World Reports has ranked UConn the top public university in New England. six-year fundraising campaign launched by President Austin, exceeded its $300 million goal when it concluded in June of 2004. A strong advocate for achievement on the playing field as well as in the classroom and laboratory, Dr. Austin celebrated numerous athletic championships along with the individual accomplishments of hundreds of student-athletes at UConn. He played a vital role in the passage of legislation that led to the construction of Rentschler Field, the home for University of Connecticut football that opened in the fall of 2003. The UConn Club honored President Austin with its Crystal Award in the spring of 2003.

He was the President of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Prior to his appointment at UConn, Dr. Austin was Chancellor of the University of Alabama System, President of Colorado State University, Chancellor of the Colorado State University System, and Provost and Vice President for Aademic Affairs and Professor of Economics and Finance at Bernard Baruch College of The City University of New York. He was previously director of the interdisciplinary doctoral program in public policy at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. From 1974 to 1977, Dr. Austin served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Education in the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare. During the latter part of this assignment, he also served as Acting Assistant Secretary for Education. He served as an Economist in the Director’s Office of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget from 1971 to 1974. Dr. Austin’s service in the United States Army extended from 1969-1971. He was an Economist with the rank of Army Captain in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Economic Affairs at U. S. Military Headquarters in

Saigon, Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal during his military duty. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Michigan State University and is active in several national professional associations. Dr. Austin served on the Board of Directors of the MetroHartford Regional Economic Alliance, Connecticut United for Research Excellence, Inc. (CURE), the Greater Hartford Area Millenium Management Board of Directors and on the Governor’s Council on Economic Competitiveness and Technology. Storrs Center Creating a “Main Street” for Mansfield

ain Street is the heart and the soul of a community, a place to meet friends for dinner before the game, to run daily errands, to enjoy the local music scene, or to buy a newspaper to read while sipping your morning coffee. Main Street is the magic that can transform a street into a neighborhood, buildings into a village, or a small town into a regional destination. In 2001, the Town of Mansfield teamed with UConn to form the Mansfield Downtown Partnership and set about creating its own “Main Street” area, Storrs Center. Storrs Center will be a mixed-use town center and main street corridor at the crossroads of the Town and the University. Located along Storrs Road/Route 195 adjacent to the University, the Town Hall, E.O. Smith High School, and the Mansfield Community Center, Storrs Center will include a town square, pedestrian-oriented streets, small lanes, and public spaces. There will be a variety of shops, restaurants, cafés, and residential options, which will attract all ages and interests and provide spaces for the community to gather. The Mansfield Downtown Partnership and master developer LeylandAlliance have worked diligently to make the vision of Storrs Center a reality. Some of their recent progress includes the signing of letters of intent from several local, regional, and national businesses; the preparation of final construction documents for improvements to Storrs Road and Dog Lane; and initiation of the selection of a designer for the parking garage and intermodal center. As progress continues, excitement about the project has steadily grown. The Partnership has garnered support from a variety of Mansfield residents, as evidenced by its 340 members. Another sign of the broad support this project enjoys is the over $22.5 million in state and federal funding the

Mansfield residents, local, state, and regional officials, and proponents of sustainable development, such as 1,000 Friends of Connecticut and CT Main Street Center, all recognize the value the new downtown will bring to the town, region, and state. Negotiations between LeylandAlliance and prospective tenants are on-going. The women’s basketball team won the NCAA Championship with its second-consecutive undefeated season.

The UConn Division of Athletic sponsors 24 sports that compete on the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the BIG EAST Conference. UConn has won ten national championships since 1990 and has won 93 BIG EAST regular season or tournament championships. Kemba Walker was an All-BIG EAST Conference pick for the men’s basketball team. Melissa Gonzalez and the UConn field hockey team once again played in the NCAA Tournament after winning the BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles.

Cristin Allen led the women’s ice hockey team to a top 10 ranking for most of the 2009-10 season. Mike Rutt of the men’s track and field team was the BIG EAST Indoor Track Performer of the Year and qualified for the outdoor NCAAs in the 800-meter run.

Diver Steve Ferriera became UConn’s first qualifier at the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship.

Robert McClain and the Husky football team played in its third-consecutive bowl game and won its second-straight.

The Husky baseball team won a school-record 48 games and as UConn was one of 16 schools to host an NCAA Regional.

effrey A. Hathaway has provided effective leadership for the University of Connecticut Division of Athletics as he enters his eighth year in that position. At the same time, he has also become a leader for college athletics on both the national and conference level. He has played a vital role in the success story of UConn athletics for 19 of the past 21 years as he was the Executive Associate Director of Athletics at the school from 1990-2001.In his only two years away from the Storrs campus, Hathaway enjoyed a successful tenure as the Director of Athletics at Colorado State University from 2001-03. His first seven years as UConn’s Director of Athletics have arguably been the most successful in school history. The 2009-10 academic year was another successful campaign. The football team played in its third-straight bowl game and won its second consecutive while the women’s basketball team won the national championship with a perfect record for the second-straight year. In addition, the men’s soccer, women’s soccer, field hockey, men’s basketball and baseball teams all qualified for postseason tournament play. UConn was also selected as one of 16 regional hosts for the NCAA baseball tournament. The women’s ice hockey team also spent most of the year ranked in the top 10 of the country. Hathaway also directed UConn to reach an agreement with IMG College, a division of IMG Worldwide, during the 2009-10 academic year. This 10-year athletics multi-media rights partnership is worth more than $80 million in guaranteed payments to the University. In 2007-08, UConn successfully completed the NCAA certification process. The institution was previously certified, once every 10 years as set forth by the NCAA, in 1998. Hathaway provided leadership for a comprehensive, year-long self study of the operations in the Division of Athletics, a site visit by a peer review team, a NCAA certification committee’s review of the self-study and a report by the peer review team. The Division also reached new long-term agreements with two of its media partners in recent years – Connecticut Public Television for women’s basketball and WTIC radio for football and men’s and women’s basketball.

UConn also completed a landmark ten-year, $46 million corporate partnership agreement with Nike, Inc. to exclusively provide footwear, apparel and equipment for Husky athletics. In addition to his leadership role at UConn, Hathaway is entering his fourth-year of a five-year term on the prestigious NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee representing the BIG EAST Conference. As a member of the ten-person committee, Hathaway takes part in the selection and administration of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship and the administration of the CBS television contract. Hathaway will serve as chairman of that committee in 2011-12. He is only the fourth individual in the history of the BIG EAST Conference to serve on the committee, joining Dave Gavitt, Jake Crouthamel and Mike Tranghese. Hathaway is a member of the Division I-A Athletic Directors Association Board of Trustees and on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). Some significantly historic achievements have occurred during Hathaway’s time as Director of Athletics. UConn became the first school to win the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s basketball championships in the same year (2004) and the football team was victorious in its first ever bowl game - the 2004 Motor City Bowl. Private fundraising for UConn athletics continues to provide exceptional academic and athletic opportunities for student-athletes. UConn secured a gift of $2.5 million from alumnus Mark Shenkman in 2004 for the building of the Mark R. Shenkman Training Center, an intercollegiate and recreational services facility that serves the entire university community. Under Hathaway’s guidance, the Division of Athletics received the University’s Environmental Leadership Award for the construction of The Burton Family Football Complex and the Mark R. Shenkman Training Center. The two buildings are the University’s first projects certified as meeting the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards for “green” buildings. At its 13th annual awards ceremony in March of 2008, the Connecticut Real Estate Exchange presented UConn with the “Green

In his role as Director, Hathaway also oversees UConn’s Recreational Services program. Serving the entire University community, approximately 580,000 individual uses were logged last year, reflecting the popularity of the diverse health and fitness offerings to students, faculty and staff. Hathaway leads a head coaching staff that is one of the most experienced in the country. UConn has 13 head coaches that have been in their current position 10 or more years as of the 2010-11 academic year, including women’s basketball coach Geno Auriemma (26th year in 2010-11), men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun (25th) and football coach Randy Edsall (12th). The University recently completed a long term contract extension with Calhoun. UConn has the distinction of being the only school in the nation with two active Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame coaches in Calhoun (Class of 2005 inductee) and Auriemma (Class of 2006 inductee). Hathaway was also a key factor in the opening of Rentschler Field in 2003 – the country’s newest and most modern BCS college football facility. During Hathaway’s career, he has always made the student-athlete the top priority. In the spring and fall semesters of the 2009 calendar year, UConn’s student-athletes excelled in the classroom as nearly 50% of the 650 studentathletes achieved a 3.0 “B-or better” semester grade point average. In addition, the Division of Athletics has consistently maintained a 99 percent retention rate among its student-athletes. “My focus is on the student-athlete,” says Hathaway. “That’s the most important part of our program. Our primary mission is the continued academic success of our student-athletes. The challenge is to identify people early in the process and assist them in charting a career path. In addition, we want to provide a quality experience in intercollegiate athletics for our student-athletes.” The University of Connecticut was saluted for its community service efforts by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS) three times under Hathaway’s watch for its community service efforts. UConn was also honored by the NCAS in 2006 and ’07 for its efforts to assist former student-athletes in earning their college degree. In the 2006-07 academic year, Hathaway served on the University search committee to hire Vice President/Chief Operating Officer Barry Feldman and Executive Director of the Alumni Association Lisa Lewis. He is currently a member of the search committee for the University’s new president. Hathaway’s leadership has earned him respect and recognition both on the national and local levels. He was one of four finalists for the “Athletic Director of the Year” in the spring of 2008 at the inaugural Sports Business Awards by Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal. In the summers of 2007 and ‘10, Hathaway was honored by NACDA as the AstroTurf Athletic Director of the Year for Division I-A in the Northeast region (which includes the New England states and New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey). In 2004, The Sporting News named Hathaway to its “Power 100 List” comprised of the 100 most powerful people in sports. He received the Joseph J. Fontana Distinguished Service Award from the Connecticut High School Coaches Association in the spring of 2005. In the winter of 2006, Hathaway received the General Robert R. of the NCAA Division I Championships/Competition Cabinet, as well as the Postseason Football Licensing Subcommittee, which is responsible for issues involving postseason football competition and the certification of bowl games. On the conference level, Hathaway was the chair of the BIG EAST Athletic Directors Executive Committee through November of 2009. He is also past chairman of the BIG EAST Championship and Competition Committee as well as the league’s Finance Committee. Hathaway has served as a guest presenter at both the NACDA and NACMA (National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators) conventions in the past. In addition, he has also served as a lecturer at the IA Institute sponsored by the Division I-A Athletic Directors’ Association, held annually in Dallas. Hathaway originally came to Connecticut in November of 1990 as Senior Associate Athletic Director. In that role, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Division of Athletics. He served internally as a program administrator for several sports, including men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s soccer at UConn as the Huskies won four national championships in those sports during his tenure - two in women’s basketball (1995 and 2000) and one each in men’s basketball (1999) and men’s soccer (2000). Hathaway was also the program administrator for football. He played a critical role in the upgrade of the football program to Division I-A status as UConn became the first ever school to transition from the I-AA level to a BCS football conference. During Hathaway’s tenure at Colorado State, he oversaw a 15-sport program - nine women’s teams and six men’s. The Ram football team made a pair of bowl appearances while Hathaway was at CSU. The men’s basketball team won the Mountain West Conference tournament in March of ‘03 and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time in 13 years. The women’s basketball team advanced to postseason play twice, including a trip to the second round of the NCAA tournament in 2002 and the semifinals of the 2003 Women’s NIT. Hathaway was an extremely successful fundraiser during his time in Fort Collins. The school drew national attention for a $15.2 million gift from the Bohemian Foundation and president Pat Stryker for football stadium renovations and expansion. Prior to his first stint at UConn, Hathaway served in a number of capacities at his alma mater - the University of Maryland - from 1982-90, including Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions, Acting Assistant Athletics Director for Business Affairs, Athletics Business Manager and men’s basketball trainer. Hathaway earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Maryland in 1981. He later received a Master’s Degree in General Administration (1991) from the University of Maryland and is currently continuing work on a PhD in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut. He attended The Sports Management Institute at the Universities of Notre Dame and Southern California. Hathaway also completed the Management Development Program at Harvard University. Born June 20, 1959, in Cheverly, Md., Hathaway and his wife Paula have two children: Meghan (October 15, 1991) and Michael (June 11, 1995).

he sights and sounds of more than a century of intercollegiate athletics competition come alive during a visit to the J. Robert Donnelly Husky Heritage Sports Museum. Located in the new and expanded UConn Alumni Center in the heart of the University of Connecticut’s main campus in Storrs, the Husky Heritage Sports Museum is the ultimate library documenting the wide-ranging successes of Connecticut’s athletic programs. The state-of-the-art design and layout of the 2,700 square foot Husky Heritage Sports Museum, named after benefactor and 1940 Connecticut basketball and football captain J. Robert (Bob) Donnelly (shown above with wife M.J.), vividly captures all of the energy, excitement and enthusiasm that is associated with “Huskymania”. Donnelly passed away on Sept. 26, 2005. The visitors’ UConn experience begins with the University of Connecticut “National Champions” Gallery. This unique museum addition, located in the entrance foyer of the Husky Heritage Sports Museum, was unveiled in December of 2004 and will serve as a permanent tribute to all University of Connecticut varsity teams that climbed to the mountaintop and earned the right to be called National Champions. Currently, a total of 13 national champion squads, representing four different UConn sports, have team photos and national championship logos on display in the National Champions gallery. Included in the National Champions Gallery is the unbeaten 1948 men’s soccer team of Coach John Squires, the 1981 and 1985 UConn women’s field hockey teams of Coach Diane Wright, the 1981 men’s soccer team of Coach Joe Morrone, the 2000 men’s soccer team of Coach Ray Reid, the six national championship women’s basketball teams of Coach Geno Auriemma (1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009), and the 1999 and 2004 UConn men’s basketball teams of Coach Jim Calhoun. Upon entering the Husky Heritage Sports Museum, visitors are greeted by a full figure statue of Jonathan, the legendary mascot of all Husky athletic teams. Oversized banners proudly hang from the ceiling, displaying action images that feature 88 of Connecticut’s All-American stars representing 17 different intercollegiate sports. A tour of the various sections of the Husky Heritage Sports Museum is a walk down memory lane for long-time followers of Connecticut athletics. For fans just becoming acquainted with UConn’s tradition of excellence, the various themes and areas of the museum, when woven together, narrate a complete and compelling sport-by-sport story line. The growth and development of Connecticut athletics is traced via text, photographs and select artifacts from its humble beginnings in the 1890s to its present day ranking among the elite major college athletic programs in the nation. Included among the “must see” memorabilia in the Husky Heritage Sports Museum main concourse are the 1981 and 2000 NCAA National Championship Men’s Soccer

trophies; the 1981 and 1985 NCAA National Championship Women’s Field Hockey trophies; the 1950s era baseball gloves belonging to Connecticut’s three Dropo brothersincluding Walt Dropo’s first baseman’s mitt when he was the American League Rookie of the Year with the Boston Red Sox in 1950; the 1935 Ramnapping Trophy, awarded annually to the winner of the Connecticut-Rhode Island football game; a 1931 football signed by the entire Connecticut squad; team photos of Connecticut’s first men’s (1901) and women’s (1902) basketball squads; and the Waterford Crystal NCAA National Championship trophies won by UConn Women’s Basketball (1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2010) and UConn Men’s Basketball (1999, 2004). The pinnacle achievement of UConn’s eight NCAA National Championships in both men’s and women’s basketball is preserved and promoted in a unique circular sanctuary–the Connecticut Basketball Rotunda, a gift of Herb and Marcia Dunn. Championship trophies and related artifacts that chronicle UConn’s men’s and women’s national titles are prominently featured in the rotunda, as are life-size cutouts of Husky All-American stars Ray Allen and Rebecca Lobo. Celebratory paintings of head coaches Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma are on display along with a one-of-a-kind watercolor team photo of the 25-member UConn Men’s Basketball All-Century team. Also within the Husky Heritage Sports Museum experience is a video wall featuring a 65-inch high definition television. Visitors can view numerous historical moments in UConn history as captured on a variety of highlight films and documentaries. Each display case of memorabilia and every historical photograph located within the walls of the J. Robert Donnelly Husky Heritage Sports Museum describe a portion of a truly remarkable story. That story of the teams, the coaches, and student-athletes who have been part of the rich history that constitutes the University of Connecticut athletic experience is now being told on a daily basis at UConn’s Husky Heritage Sports Museum. The J. Robert Donnelly Husky Heritage Sports Museum is open free of charge to the general public during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) of the UConn Alumni Center. Since the Husky Heritage Sports Museum opened in January of 2002, several important artifacts have been donated from UConn loyalists to help expand the scope of the Connecticut Athletics storyline. The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics continues to seek additional memorabilia/artifacts to help expand the story of the UConn Huskies.
