Greek of the Month Greek of the Month is recognition given to members of the Greek Community who demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, academic accomplishment and brother/sisterhood. These individuals are people of good moral character who uphold the values of the Greek community and UConn. Kim Hoa Bui has been a pivotal member of the Greek community as the President of Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. She “exemplifies the pillar of leadership, is organized, prepared and on-time to every meeting...she understands that leadership can sometimes mean following while always setting an excellent example for our new members,” says her nominator Kristen Basiaga of Kappa Phi Lambda. Kim is a senior Marketing major and Asian American Studies minor. She is an active member of the Asiantation Mentoring Program, Faith Christian Fellowship, and KUBE. Also nominated was Marie Folin of Phi Sigma Rho. Nominations for Greek of the Month are due on the 15th of each month and should be submitted to Jessica Smestad at student0348@ad.uconn.edu. Kappa Kappa Gamma has been very busy this past month. They started October with their Parent's BBQ on October 7th which was very successful. They spent a great deal of time this month preparing for homecoming to wish UCONN a Happy 125th Birthday! They also celebrated Founder’s day and had a visit from Crystal Marcum, a Kappa Leadership Consultant who helped them a great deal with some of their various programming. Recently they held the Kappa Walks for the Kure Breast Cancer walk which was held on October 29th and raised approximately $4,500.
