Catriona is the Programme Leader for our History & Heritage degree at University College Isle of Man and is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Chester. She is passionate about the Isle of Man and about heritage and culture. She spent ten years as a Trustee of Manx National Heritage and served as their representative on the Board of Culture Vannin. In her role at UCM, she teaches heritage studies as well as elements of Celtic Studies and Manx history and culture. Her research interests range from vernacular architecture to the politics, language, and cultural identity. She is currently working with colleagues at Oxford Brookes University on a project to explore the experiences of women in Manx politics.

WHAT ARE ‘ACCESS TO HIGHER EDUCATION’ COURSES?
A one-year course ideal for people who have few or no formal qualifications* but want to go on study a degree. On completion of the course you’ll earn UCAS points in order to go on to study at a University in the UK can continue your studies on a Degree course with us.
*You’ll need a C or above in GCSE Maths and English, if you don’t have that already we can also help you with that.
