What do you want new employees to know about your area? The Office of Campus Compliance encompasses Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA), and Title IX. The Office of Campus Compliance (EEO/AA/Title IX) upholds the policy of the University to not engage in discrimination against or harassment of any person employed or seeking employment with UC Merced on the basis of protected categories. The Office of Campus Compliance offers investigative services, resources, and education regarding the areas of discrimination and harassment. How will your area contribute to NEO’s mission of promoting a culture of inquiry, discovery and learning thereby engaging and retaining exceptional employees? The engagement and retention of exceptional employees is important for the success of UC Merced. The Office of Campus Compliance upholds the belief that all UC Merced community members have the right to work and learn in an environment free from discrimination and harassment. The EEO/AA/Title IX Office will promptly address issues of discrimination and harassment that may pose as barriers affecting an employee’s ability to engage with the University.

How does the activity of your area impact or further UC Merced’s vision? The Office of Campus Compliance (EEO/AA/Title IX) serves and supports the UC Merced community to thrive. Aside from investigations and referrals to resources, the Office of Campus Compliance provides education pertaining to discrimination and harassment, including the mandatory Sexual Harassment Prevention training for Non-Supervisory Employees. The Office of Campus Compliance assists employees with understanding their roles and responsibilities for reporting disclosures sexual violence/sexual harassment to maintain an active, engaged campus community that supports student and employee success.
