BUCHBINDER’S BEST TIMES Short Course 100 breast - 1:04.84 200 fly - 2:08.30 200 breast - 2:26.19 “Thanks to my family: My bruin family and my personal family... Teammates, coaches, professors, councilors, classmates, friends, family, and anyone who helped me make it here, has helped me stay here, or has affected me, bad or good. You’ve challenged me to succeed and have helped me learn. You’ve been my backbone when times were tough, and my inspiration to help me improve. Without all of you I wouldn’t be able to say I’ve become a better person and I’ve tried my best at everything I do. Thank you for being so understanding, guiding me on the right path, yet allowing me room to grow as a person. I’ve made so many memories that most won’t have the pleasure to experience, so I’d like to thank the coaches for giving me the opportunity to come here. Thanks to my class, close teammates and friends for making college that much more bearable. Lastly, thanks to my dad. You’re my rock, my role model, and my best friend.”

Getting To Know Lindsay What has been your favorite memory during your time at UCLA? Going to baseball games with Sam, Dani and Alex freshman year, rain or shine. And speaking in Russian! If you could do another sport at UCLA, what would it be? Tennis! Or soccer, when I was younger I played with some of the girls that currently play for UCLA. Do you have a pre-meet ritual? If so, what is it? None really. Definitely eating a breakfast that isnt too heavy. One time I ate a breakfast burrito before a meet and sank. What is your favorite song playing in your IPOD right now? ‘I want you to’ by Weezer or ‘Christian Dior Denim Flow’ by Kanye West. Who is your hero? Probably my dad. He’s pretty amazing and if I accomplished half of what he’s done I’d be complacent with myself. What’s your favorite thing to eat? Sushi! Or honey banana oatmeal from Corner Bakery. What is your favorite thing to do away from the pool? Art. If I had more time, I’d do ceramics.

What is something most people don?t know about you? I collect Dodgers hats and Nikes. Name a TV show you are embarrassed to watch. Keeping up with the Kardashians and Jersey Shore. I don’t particularly like them, but they’re definitely entertaining. What is your favorite movie? I have heaps of them. Matilda was it for a while, then Half Baked, a Clockwork Orange, Romie and Michelle’s High School Reunion and Ice Age. Right now I’m stuck on Despicable Me. What website do you visit most often? The food network website. I’m always looking for new recipes to test. What is your favorite Coach Wooden quote? You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.” What does it mean to be a Bruin? It?s a lifestyle. You have a sense of pride that most people don?t get the chance to experience. It means more than words can explain.
