CICERONE FIELD AT ANTEATER BALLPARK PROJECT

UCI Athletics is excited to launch the Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark Project to help support our nationally competitive UCI Baseball program. This transformational project will improve the quality of the training facilities for our student-athletes, increase our seating capacity to meet NCAA requirements to host an NCAA regional, and enhance the overall experience for ‘Eater Nation!
Opened in 2002, Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark’s excellent field playing conditions coupled with the Newkirk Pavilion, started a new era of baseball for UCI. However, Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark is still not complete and requires additional funding to finish the project that was started twenty years ago.
Once completed, Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark will help elevate UCI Baseball to new, unparalleled heights.

‘EATERS IN THE PROS
“The time I spent at UCI was critical to the development of my baseball career.
These facility additions will keep the ‘Eaters on the path to chase down the goal of ultimately winning a National Championship.
I remember the motivation I felt as a young college player seeing big leaguers at the field every day and this is the environment we want to continue to build. These facilities will keep Major League Players coming back and give our student-athletes opportunities unique to UC Irvine.
The UCI baseball program and facilities are highly regarded among athletes, trainers, coaches, and fans and we need to continue to invest in the growth of these facilities to remain among the nation’s elites.”
- Andre Pallante, St. Louis Cardinals - RHP (UCI Alum: 2017-2019)

CICERONE“
DEVELOPMENT
of the best years of my life were spent at UC Irvine. Being an Anteater taught me how to play the game of baseball the right way, the hard way. A top notch collegiate program needs top notch facilities and I’m so excited to see these plans unfold. These facilities will help give future Anteaters the best opportunities to succeed on and off the field. More resources for a deserving program that offers so much already!

‘EATERS GOTTA EAT
At Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark,
Our “Pride in Performance” will be on display.
This makes player development the central focus of every Anteater who calls this facility home.
• In order to expect excellence, we need to provide excellence.
• Player Development upgrades are pivotal for long term success.
• Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark hosts elite Major League personalities to train annually.

GENERATING OPPORTUNITIES
“The ballpark renovation allows us to create a state of the art facility for a successful, championship caliber team, and provide quality amenities which will contribute to a great student-athlete experience. I am thrilled to be working with our campus, donors, parents and fans to complete the final phase of the renovation.”
This transformational and collaborative effort completes Cicerone Field at Anteater Ballpark and promotes a greater sense of Anteater Pride while expanding opportunities to engage community and alumni.

The financial impacts of bringing thousands of fans to campus while garnering national media attention for the state-of-the-art ballpark and nationally competitive program, is something that can’t be replicated elsewhere in Orange County. UCI Baseball is perfectly positioned to leverage this opportunity.
