Most advanced specialty care close to home • The American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology honored Medical Center of the Rockies with two of their highest awards for providing an exceptional system of care – from the 911 response to follow-up care – for heart attack patients. • Equipped with two helicopter landing pads, Medical Center of the Rockies is home to Air Link, UCHealth’s emergency, critical care air transport program. • As a Level II trauma center, Medical Center of the Rockies offers advanced care for patients with critical cardiac, trauma and other emergency medical conditions in the northern Colorado region.

Building community connections • UCHealth’s Healthy Kids Club offers an array of programs and events to promote health and wellness among kids in northern Colorado elementary schools, with a focus on physical activity, health education and nutrition. - Among the programs are the Schools on the Move 5210 Challenge, the Healthy Kids and Fit Teen Run Series, BstrongBfit, school walkathon fundraisers and Fit Families on the Move. - The 5210 challenge boosted reported physical activity levels by as much as 57 percent, with 50 percent of participants eating more fruits and vegetables and 54 percent consuming fewer sugary foods and beverages. • Nine members of the UCHealth Clinical Quality Department in northern Colorado, with both MCR and PVH being represented, joined in Loveland’s Paint Our Town project last fall to paint a house in Loveland from top to bottom. Paint Our Town utilizes the services of volunteers to help paint homes of individuals and families who could not do so on their own.

Moving care forward UCHealth opened a state-of-the-art training facility in Windsor to train health care workers and emergency responders in January 2015. It is expected the new $1 million Clinical Education and Innovation Center will build skills and experience of more than 5,000 people in its first year alone. The 13,000-square foot center includes four simulation rooms that mimic real hospital rooms in their appearance as well as the basic equipment that is available, in addition to classroom space that can accommodate up to 100 people.
