Dear members of UCC YFG,
I would like to inform you that I wish to run for the position of secretary for the 2015/2016 college year. Having been a part of the branch for the current and previous semesters, I believe that I have now acquired the skills necessary to fulfil this role.
There are many reasons why I believe I would be suited to this role:
I have spent the last year as a First Year Representative and feel that I have learned a vast amount about how each position of the committee works
When I was in 6th year, I undertook the position of secretary for the 5th and 6th year prefects so I already understand the various tasks associated with this role
From playing Camogie to participating in group Fleadh Cheoil competitions, I have adapted well to communicating and co-operating with others
I hope to keep on Politics in 2nd Year, further emphasising my avid interest in Politics and my dedication to UCC YFG
Most importantly however, I understand that there is still so much more to learn about YFG and I’m extremely enthusiastic to be challenged as well as take on more responsibility.
If elected, I would additionally devote my time to:
Raising our political profile on campus
Encourage First Years to join and demonstrate the importance of being politically active
Suggest a diverse range of society collaborations
I would be humbled if you would consider me as your secretary.
