UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST IN THE PHILIPPINES
Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE In one God: Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer, who provides order, purpose, meaning and fulfillment to all creation. That in Jesus Christ, who was born of Mary, God became human and is Sovereign Lord of Life and history. That in the Holy Spirit God is present in the world, empowering and guiding believers to understand and live out their faith in Jesus Christ. WE BELIEVE That people are created in the image of God and destined to live in community with God, with other persons and with all creation. That, by disobedience, they have become sinful, but, by grace through faith, they are redeemed in Jesus Christ. That being entrusted with God’s creation, they are called to participate in the establishment of a just and compassionate social order. WE BELIEVE That the Church is the one body of Christ, the whole community of persons reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and entrusted with God’s ministry. WE BELIEVE That the Holy Bible is a faithful and inspired witness to God’s self-revelation in Jesus Christ and in history to illumine, guide, correct and edify believers in their faith and witness. WE BELIEVE God is at work, to make each person a new being in Christ, and the whole world, God’s Kingdom — in which love, justice and peace prevail. The Kingdom of God is present where faith in Jesus Christ is shared, where healing is given to the sick, where food is given to the hungry, where light is given to the blind, and where liberty is given to the captive and oppressed. WE BELIEVE The resurrection of Jesus Christ has overcome the power of death and gives assurance of life after death. And we look forward to His coming again in all fullness and glory To make all creation new and to gather all the faithful under God’s Kingdom. Amen.

greetings Good morning dear church! Sent by God to this community of faith in Pacita for ministerial and pastoral duties is both a beautiful blessing and a tough challenge, especially in this time of pandemic. However, God’s grace is always present and experiential; and God is gracious and powerful enough to bestow us another year to celebrate and work for. “Bringing the good news of light and hope to the masses in these changing times” is our theme this year. This is a response to our shared experience of the global pandemic. If our previous EY theme, “Bringing the Good News to the masses” was emphatic about what the Good News is to the poor as seen through their lenses and expectations, the UCCP annual theme for this E.Y. expounds on the same (the Good News) as seen through the eyes of a pandemic-stricken world. The “light and hope” of our faith points to an alternative reality that we need to live and witness in our present cocooning/quarantined society. Our quarantining may be causing us untold harm but the “forty days and forty nights” in our scriptural tradition were also about our physical-spiritual regeneration, conversion, and social transformation. May our pandemic experience, of “forty-day and forty-night” moment – be a moment of illumination and empowerment by the light and hope of our faith, by the guiding light and hope from God. Happy Coral Anniversary PEC! May the God of all encouragement be with us all, as we celebrate another anniversary. Padayon UCCP-Pacita!
Rev. Ivie Francisquete-Apole Administrative Minister, UCCP-Pacita

greetings
Good morning! May the grace of God be upon us this morning as we commence the service of the day and celebrate the 35th anniversary of the UCCP-Pacita Evangelical Church. I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone here as we mark this special day in our church. As we look upon this special occasion, let’s welcome every other new day as yet another special gift from our Lord and Creator. May we see today as yet another wonderful opportunity to draw ever close to His grace and His light, especially at this very critical time of the pandemic. As said in Psalms 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path.”
Your co-worker in Christ,
Douglas Ezra Rubia Sr. Council Chairperson, UCCP-Pacita

greetings Warmest greetings of love and peace from the office of the General Secretary. I am glad to bring greetings for the 35th Church Anniversary Celebration off UCCP Pacita, Laguna of the Northeast Southern Tagalog Conference (NESTCON) on June 20th, 2021. We are indeed grateful to God for Church anniversaries that demonstrate the affable fellowship of church members and leaders and those that they relate with near and far. Our church emphasizes that the local church is the locus of mission and in so doing characterizes the inextricable spiritual and human connection among members through physical and virtual relationships in community. This is expressed in the telling and listening of their stories whether of success, pain, failures and hopes, as well as in sharing their talents and resources. This 35th Founding Anniversary celebration reveals the growing awareness of the historicity of your existence and relevance of your mission in these changing times and inextinguishable faith that bonds the community, despite the daunting challenges to unity, makes the church cohere and grow in the likeness of the Creator God and the person of our Savior Jesus Christ. Your anniversary theme, “Bringing Good News of Light and Hope to the Masses in These Changing Times” declares the steadfast assurance of God’s love and grace that sustain and guide the community of faith. It summons the local Church to respond to the needs of the people in the larger context, bringing light and hope to those in distressing situations of life. Together with you, the Church hopes for vibrant unity and prays that all unity may one day be restored and reconciliation and peace be attained. Blessings of love, joy, and peace on your 35th Church Anniversary.
Bishop Melzar D. Labuntog General Secretary

35th ANNIVERSARY GREETINGS TO UCCP PACITA
Church anniversaries are opportune time for all members of the body of Christ to have an in-depth spiritual retrospect at this time of pandemic and social crisis. Though we cannot celebrate church anniversaries same as before the pandemic, the crises will never stop us from doing so because we believe that Christ is above all these crises and surely someday, we will overcome these. Let me quote the following verses in Matthew 16, 15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17And Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon BarJonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. 18And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rockb I will build my church, and the gates of hellc shall not prevail against it. Jesus, the Son of the living God is the rock of the church foundation. Our relationship with each other as brothers and sisters is founded in our confession of Jesus as the living son of God. This confession caused the death of the apostles and martyrs of faith at around three centuries in the hands of the Roman Empire and emperors who considered themselves as the sons of gods. But the blood of the martyrs became the seed of faith that we now gloriously inherited. Our fidelity to Christ cannot be subsumed by our fidelity to world leaders. And we must at all times be ready to defend our faith against all pseudo gods and leaders of political system that kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). We are inspired servant leaders in the likes of Jesus who came to give us abundant lives. As you celebrate your church anniversary may you revitalize your personal and collective relationship with Jesus and to one another in order to recommit yourselves anew to “BRING THE GOOD NEWS OF LIFE AND HOPE TO THE MASSES IN THESE CHANGING TIMES.” Do not fear, rejoice and be glad for God’s love endures forever. Servant of Christ,

Ang tema ng pagdiriwang ngayon - “Bringing Good News of Light and Hope to the Masses in these Changing Times” ay isang napapanahong pagtugon sa patuloy na krisis na ating kinakaharap.

1
It all began in June of 1984 when five families and some friends held Bible study sessions at the Pacita Complex 1 residence of the Providos, former members of Evangelical Church of Muntinlupa (ECM).
oldest known liturgy
The commemorative liturgy was used during the first anniversary of the members as a unified worshipping congregation. The exact date when the liturgy was printed could not be determined but it is reckoned that it was used in 1984 during the time of Rev. Arciaga’s leadership. The said liturgy is carefully being kept by Sis. Marilyn Alar.

Rev. Ernesto Arciaga † (E.Y. 1983-1985) and lay worker Nanie Justo of ECM had been helping organize the growing group. Sunday worship services, Sunday schools, and visitations became regular activities, long before we were considered as a worshipping congregation - an extension of ECM under the Metropolitan Manila Conference.

Rev. Vicente Tabuso † (E.Y. 1985-1988) was our “church planting pastor.” It was during his time that our worshipping congregation became Pacita Evangelical Church (PEC).
Fundraising activities allowed us to purchase a property from Bro. Rodel Llorica - a stone’s throw away from the Providos’. In June 1987, we moved in to this new (our current) location in time for our first church anniversary.

Rev. Salvador Eduarte † (E.Y. 1988-1989) became our second pastor for less than a year and saw us grow deeper in our faith and understanding of the UCCP doctrines.

Gathering at Alar’s Residence
Rev. Filemon Paaño † (E.Y. 1988-1992) became our third pastor. It was during his term when we also had Sis. Lilia Paaño as CE director. Also in the photo are Sis. Olive Fornoles (rightmost) and Mommy Velasco † (third from right), both former choir directresses.
“Open Air” Fellowship
8 first church worker couple From 1988 to 1992, Rev. Filemon Paaño † (left) served as the church’s administrative pastor together with his wife, DM Lilia Paaño (right) as the Board of Christian Education coordinator.
16
By this time our sanctuary used to be a hollowedout residential bungalow with a small extension and open walls. Several fundraising programs were launched to further improve the infrastructure of the church - expansion of the sanctuary and construction of the pastoral house.
1991-1993 1994 Couple’s Fellowship
church’s memorable fifth anniversary
On June 16, 1991, the church celebrated its fifth founding anniversary with the late Senator Jovito Salonga, a UCCP member, as the guest preacher. It was a memorable day as the anniversary was celebrated exactly a day after the catastrophic Mt. Pinatubo eruption.
99 Rev. Teresita Vertucio (E.Y. 1992-1994) (second row, rightmost) became our fourth pastor. Also in the picture is Deac. Phebe Dollente Arguelles (second row, second from the right) who served as CE worker. Their period of stay was marked with innovations in our worship services and fellowships.
1993 most number of years as council chairperson
Bro. Hernando “Nanding” Quierrez was our council chairperson from 1992 to 1997, and again from 1999 to 2005 - a total of 11 years.
VCS at Ercia’s Residence

Vacation Church School (VCS) was included in our church’s program in the year 1990 and later in 1993, it was conducted at various locations to reach more children.
17
1994 11
1996-1997
Even if Rev. Vertucio was not able to complete her term, her creative innovations and vigorous leadership helped our church to carry on for a brief period of time.
12 The ever-so-helpful-all-around-
musically-inclined Rev. Benjamin Organo (E.Y. 1994-1999) was our fifth pastor. It was during his term that we began having mid-week prayer meetings.
Around this time, Sis. Annie Ercia began to serve as a volunteer Christian Education (CE) Director.
13
16
“Tanging Awit para sa Panginoon” Concert
The very talented Kuya Rudy Babiera † (top leftmost) took the helm as choir director and formed the Family Church Choir. We had a grand fundraising concert at Infanta, Quezon and a repeat performance at our local church (June 1996). Piano and voice lessons were also given to willing members.

Joint Fellowship at SPEC
14
Our CYF became very active both inside and outside the local church. We had regular joint fellowships within the district/ cluster. We also had our very first delegates (more or less 20 delegates) for the summer camp at Macalamcam, Batangas.
15 We started dividing our Sunday school classes into age groups. We also became very much involved in outreach activities like medical and dental missions, and adult Bible studies. In the photo above, Sis. Bethlehem is seen leading our first ever outreach mission in Maligaya 5.
18
17
From 1996 to 1997 further improvements of our altar, sanctuary, and church office were made. Still in use as of this writing, the piano, drum set, and first batch of pews were donated by the church members during this time. We had the monoblocks at the front (see photo above).
1988
During the last summer camp (Lucban, Quezon - 1988) before STC was divided into two conferences, many of our CYF heeded the call to become staff members. UCCP-Pacita was included under the new Northeast Southern Tagalog Conference (NESTCON) after the split.
1999 18 Rev. Luis Pring † (E.Y. 1999-2000) was our sixth pastor. With emphasis in music as a powerful tool in the ministry, we had a “praise night/evangelistic rally” to rekindle our fire as believers. It was also during his stay that our mid-week prayer meeting became regular.
21 Around this period Sis. Bethlehem Ercia stepped up to become our pianist and the first ever president of our Christian Young Adults Fellowship (CYAF).
longest-serving pianist
Sis. Bethlehem Ercia, or “Ebet” as fondly called by the UCCP-Pacita family, has been serving the church as the pianist for more than twenty years! Her commendable commitment is truly an inspiration to the members.
Many came, many were served.
19
May God bless you a thousandfold, Ebet!
We opened our gates to the general public willing to take part in our medical and dental mission.

Ate Oyie in action
20
Sunday schools pushed as scheduled amidst unfinished construction and debris – and the children didn’t mind (as seen in the photo above). Our CE room was constructed around this time along with continuous improvements in our sanctuary.
We had our age-grouped classes named after biblical characters under the energetic leadership of Deac. Oyie Alitagtag as CE director. Sunday school festivals (as seen in the photo above) became regular. During this period, our facilitator’s training program was also strengthened. She also at one time served as our choir directress.
19
2000
2001
We decided to complete E.Y. 2000-2001 without an administrative pastor.
24
23
Psalm 151 (L-R): Marc, Benjo, Je, Jerome, Taju, Ciara, Ebet and Jeremy †
In 2000, the music ministry formed a band under the guidance of Sis. Rose Rivera, in a desire to incorporate the singing of contemporary praise and worship songs. The band was then called as Psalm 151, with Bro. Jeremy Quierrez † as the worship leader and guitarist.
Our first ever souvenir program was published in time for our 15th church anniversary. Notable personalities graced our souvenir program through written and personal congratulatory messages. Our speaker was Atty. Emilio Capulong Jr., then presiding commissioner of the National Commission on Conflict Resolution (NCCR).
first church wedding ceremony
25 Rev. Jefferson “ Kuya Jeff ” Rodriguez † first served as our church caretaker before sending him to Siliman University for ministerial studies. Upon graduating he came back to become our seventh pastor (E.Y. 2001-2003). He remains to this date, the only pastor to come from our local church.
Bro. Brian and Sis. Michelle Garcia are the first members who got married at UCCP-Pacita. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Rev. Luis Pring and Rev. Teresita Vertucio on August 8, 2000.
26 In 2001, Bro. Mike Ercia (second from left) served as a volunteer outreach worker of the church. Bro. Dander Clavecilla (center) followed his footsteps a few years later in the outreach mission field. (2012) Rev. Elmer (third from right) with other UCM members
20
2003-2005 27
Approximately 14 years since acquiring the real property where our church building currently stands, we completely paid off the amortization.
28 Our eighth pastor, Rev. Pumphrey Rizal (E.Y. 20032005) (rightmost) was the “kuya” to our CYF and a son to our CWA. It was during his time when we revived the outreach program.
29
This period also saw considerable increase in the number of our lay formation program (LFP) students. Many of our previous and current church leaders are LFP graduates from these batches.
30 As seen in the photo above, the church building
used to have a front-facing door. It was in this period when our facade was renovated to its current structure. In addition, “Hymnal of a Faith Journey” church hymnal, still in use to date, was also acquired at this time.
31
Donated by a church member, the old cross originally had a “rustic” design. (See page 25 for the new and redesigned current cross)
21
2005-2006
2008 “Karera sa Basura”
longest-serving pastor 2005-2012
Rev. Elmer Diumano served the church as our ninth administrative pastor for seven wonderful years. His stay in the church never felt long enough as the members drew out encouragement and guidance from his dynamic leadership.
33 Women of UCCP-Pacita help the environment while raising funds for the church.
May God continue to bless you as you disciple and mentor more people for His glory, Pastor Elmer!
34 Preparing for the “Tiangge sa Riles”
32
22
Under Rev. Elmer’s administration, we had more outreach activities such as the hospital mission in Gavino Alvarez Lying-In as shown in the photo above.
With Sis. Marilyn Alar as third and current president of the UCSCA (rightmost), they went on to become one of our most active organizations. Some of their most notable programs are the “Pamaskong Handog sa KOINONIA” and the “Tiangge sa Riles”.

The photo above was taken during the blessing of the newly constructed house led by Rev. Elmer with Le-anne, Phia, and Bro. Mike Ercia. Construction of the comfort rooms and further improvements in the church building were also undertaken during this year.
37
This year marked another milestone - our Silver Anniversary (25th). Our speaker was Cong. Neptali Gonzales II (second from the left.)
38 We participated in outreach activities such as food and Biblegiving programs at Southville in 2011, book donation at a public elementary school and visitation to an orphanage in 2012.

specially by our CYF & CYAF with Sis. Louise Grace Alitagtag-Bueta as choir directress. With her expertise we had plenty of opportunities to hone our musical skills.
47
The church kitchen’s renovation was completed through the initiative of the CWA. The kitchen room appeared to be wider and brighter as the indoor light was amplified through newly-painted white colored walls.
25
2016 48 Towards the end of Rev. Gilbert’s term, the air conditioning units were installed.
49 A good sermon writer and another musically inclined servant, Rev. Romeo Estabillo Jr. (E.Y. 2016-2018) became our 11th pastor. He introduced “Jordan Connection” which encouraged us to pray for each other every evening. This practice surely taught us the power and importance of praying for our family, church, and community.
UCCP - Pacita’s Christmas Party (2016)
50 Rev. Estabillo introduced us to a grander way of celebrating the Thanksgiving Sunday. The Lord’s provision through the church’s assistance became instrumental for the completion of his higher studies.
51
“Gloria” Christmas Cantata, 2016
26
Our choir was officially named Coro Santuario and has reached new heights with Sis. Hannie Maraan as choir directress specially in terms of technicality and orderliness. The Coro Santuario organized and performed its first Christmas Cantata entitled “Gloria” during this year. The choir was able to acquire a new keyboard through the funds generated from the cantata.
2017-2019
The Silence and the Sound, 2017
52
The Coro Santuario’s second Christmas cantata entitled “The Silence and the Sound” was successful in generating funds for the retired church workers of UCCP Northeast Southern Tagalog Conference. The navy blue choir gowns worn in the cantata were donated around this time and are still being used as of this writing.
55 God’s genoristy has been evident through the faithful giving of our members. The altar’s LED TV (June 2018), music ministry’s bass guitar (November 2018), and CCTV security system (May 2019) were donated during this time.
53 Always “to the work” Rev. Ivie FrancisqueteApole (E.Y. 2018-present) became our 12th and current pastor. Encouraging “priesthood of all,” Rev. Ivie tapped many church members to take on specific roles in our church activities.

In our continuing bid for spiritual development and education we had our two most recent graduates from the Lay Formation Program as of this writing (photo A). Sis. Abby Alar would have been the second ministerial student from UCCP- Pacita had she completed her apprenticeship. Also around the same period, Maan, Summer, and Dan attended a district-wide confirmation camp held in Calamba Evangelical Church (photo B).

a simple yet meaningful wedding in the wake of the pandemic
Bro. Kristoffer and Sis. Micah Paulino got married on March 18, 2020, during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The intimate wedding ceremony was officiated by Rev. Ivie Apole and was attended by a limited number of guests to follow the health protocols of the government.

In the photo above are: (1) The 34th Tribute fund drive infographic, (2) Bro. Benjo sharing God’s message as the anniversary speaker, (3) Praise and Worship Team with Bro. Jim Ambayec from UCCPSPEC, and (4) Coro Santuario singing the anthem.
58 COVID-19 pandemic happened and so came the time to “bring the church into our homes.” Rev. Ivie, Sisters Hannie, Marge and Darlen were quick to respond so that on March 22, 2020 we had our first “at-home” and “online” worship services. Each household setup their own altar while liturgies and pre-recorded messages were made accessible online to guide each family to autonomously conduct worship service. Online meetings were also organized in Zoom platform for members who prefer to participate virtually with other families. Such is God’s work that even in this time of fear and uncertainties we are reminded of how our faith can be both an intimate family affair and a powerful force binding us all together.
28
The 34th church anniversary was celebrated through purely online worship.
60
Despite technological constraints we experienced, we gradually got accustomed to the regular online activities of the church. We were able to adapt to the new setup as we attend our Midweek Prayer Services, Bible Study Fellowships, and Sunday Schools.

61
Due to improving pandemic situation we were finally able to hold our first ever blended worship service on March 07, 2021.
renewal of vows from a distance
On May 17, 2020, Bro. Mamen and Sis. Cherie Alar had an at-home renewal of vows during online Sunday worship officiated by Rev. Ivie. It was a significant day for the couple as they also celebrated their decade-long relationship as husband and wife. Truly, their marriage is a testament to God’s love and faithfulness. 62
Like the rest of the world, we struggled with our resources. But with God’s grace we have always made ends meet. We are even able to continue serving as a channel of God’s blessings to those who are less fortunate with our outreach activities. This was made possible by our decision back in 2019 to revive our outreach program.

2021-2022 64 We weathered the brunt of the pandemic but not without losses from family members, relatives, friends, and past church workers. Some lost their careers, livelihoods, and learning opportunities in a face-to-face school environment. As individuals, we are all affected by the pandemic at varying degrees, but as a church, we endure our struggles and losses as one. We provided “ayuda” to members and nonmembers alike; counseling and visitations were done, healing prayers were given to the sick, and vigils for our lost ones were offered. In addition, we opened our church building as a refuge to members under challenging circumstances brought about by the pandemic.
65
We fight alongside each other and share our victories, big or small. With all the chaos happening around us, God still has a way of reassuring us that our battles will be won when we fight in His name.
For now, blended worship services seem to be the “new normal” for us and we’re getting the hang of it. In the photo on the right is our blended worship service with Rev. Teodoro Oñate Jr. as our guest speaker (Oct. 2021).

music ministry’s favorite cook
Sis. Marivic Falcon or “Ate Mavic” as dearly called by the music ministry team, prepares their delish lunch every Sunday morning. They have always loved her tinolang manok, pininyahang manok, and giniling! Ate Mavic has always been busy as the caretaker of the church but never misses attending choir practices as a soprano. Undeniably, she’s an inspiration to us all!

At the young age of six, Bro. Moses Alar led a Midweek Prayer Service as the liturgist. Such a bright young lad, isn’t he?
We are excited to witness you grow in the service of the Lord, Mochok!
unbeatable heart of a volunteer
Trimming the church’s shrubs, resolving plumbing and electrical emergencies, building wooden furniture, and installing fixtures, are a few things that Bro. Mike Corre has been willing to offer to the church. His humble service to the Lord mirrors how Jesus Christ led by serving. Bro. Mike, you are a blessing to us. May you always be filled with God’s love and blessings.
67 We made it to our 500th and last “Daily Dose of Strength from the Scripture & prayer” Facebook post from Rev. Ivie, signalling higher hopes that we will be exchanging more of these encouraging and inspiring words among ourselves as we see each other more often in person. Together we look forward to next year’s challenges and blessings.

Board of Elders
“The Ministry Undisturbed” By: Rev. Ivie Francisquete-Apole
It is with God’s great mercy that the ministry of the church led by our administrative pastor together with the board of elders continue, despite the so many dangers and restrictions brought by the pandemic. As best as we could, quick doorsteps visitations, praying and bringing the Gospel of assurance and hope to our members, via online or by phone, were incessantly offered. The sacrament of baptism, house and business dedications, vehicle blessings, and vigil services were officiated. More so, financial assistance to sick members, calamity survivors in Mindoro, Rizal, North Quezon, and Biñan Laguna, along with the food pack and giftgiving to our mission outreach in Maligaya 6 and to some indigents were carried out with so much love and enduring devotion. Truly, God is gracious and kind that even if we experience the same and are also surviving, God is mightily at work to empower and move us that we may be of help to our communities near and far. Soli Deo Gloria!

THE BOARD OF DEACONS (BOD) acts and serves as the financial planning arm of the church, with the Financial Secretary as its Chairperson. As members, it is our duty to be responsible stewards in our personal, family and church life. We are blessed to be instruments in helping members come together to support and ensure the success of all church activities as a way of giving back to God for all that He has blessed us with and to give Him all the glory and honor.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. 10

We have performed outreach activities to specific communities as well to give joy and put a smile on the faces of our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Last but certainly not the least, we have worked collaboratively in sustaining every need of our very own UCCP Pacita throughout the years, as testimony of our faithfulness and dedication to Christ’s ministry.

BOCE
Board of Christian Educators By: Abigail Alar
In Jesus’ life and ministry, He lived out his love and compassion to the people through teaching and empowering them. More so, the teaching ministry is one of the fundamental ministries done by Christ along with His prophetic, liberating, and healing ministries. It is stipulated in the amended UCCP-CBL Article 5 Section 13 that the Board of Christian Educators shall oversee the education program of the local church. Thus, being guided and inspired by this ground rule, our beloved church through the BOCE endures to carry out its mission for the members, especially for the children who belong to the most vulnerable groups in these trying times.
38
rein
Despite the many restrictions and inadequacies brought by the pandemic COVID-19, the BOCE continues its educational ministry through online activities like regular sunday schools, worship services, and other church activities such as Christmas presentations and participation in the conference VCS. Through the loving support of our lay members, fellow organizations, committees, boards, and with the untiring leadership of our pastor, BOCE continues to live out its mission and planned program, in the light of Jesus’ work in nurturing and developing the spirituality of people in all ages. The BOCE focuses on the spiritual nurture of the children,

which is very much important so that as early as possible, they may be anchored and honed in the love of God, making this the core of their being; knowing also that they are the future leaders of the church. In closing, the BOCE continues to withstand the hurdles that come its way by remaining faithful and committed to the ministry. By God’s guiding grace, the BOCE will continue to carry on, planting more seeds of the Gospel in the lives of children. The Pacita Evangelical Church, through its educational ministry, will continue to cultivate the growing garden of God in the faith community. Praise be to God!

CYF
Christian Youth Fellowship By: Julia Garcia ‘Youth’ is defined as the period between childhood and adulthood; a time wherein you discover yourself and enjoy the vigor of life – seems fun, right? But mix it with Christianity plus fellowship, then you are in for a colorful, vibrant life. The Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) gives the perfect balance of faith and friendship, a bond glued together by the words and the guidance of the Lord. CYF is a family and a safe space where you can enjoy your youth while also serving and giving thanks to the Lord, not only in the local church but also in the wider judicatories. Two
of our youth members, Rein Ayala and Jasmin Rubia, are both officers in the CYF conference-wide leadership. The comfort brought about by the people you are with and the ease that comes with praising our Lord God is a love like no other. We are also a ministerial arm of the church as we lead the Sunday school, serve in our mission outreach and participate in worship services. Also, our organization aims to lead young people into the world of fun activities and meaningful fellowships. With that said, our organization helps the youth to channel that high and youthful energy towards a meaningful Christian life.

CYAF Christian Young Adult Fellowship by: Jo-Anne Ercia-Medrano
The Christian Young Adults Fellowship (CYAF) is believed to be the sector from which resources are to be tapped in order to promote the ministry and the mission of the church, as claimed by Bishop Elmer Bolocon. PEC CYAF had its humble beginnings in the year 2005, which was catapulted by the active participation of then CYFers, now CYF forever. Since then the organization has grown to around ten members formed to facilitate programs, plans, and activities for the young adults and to also serve as an implementing arm of the church for its various activities.
1 District Council of Leaders in 2019-2021, so with Abby Alar as the Vice-Chairperson of the Conference Council 2020-2022.
There were various projects, get-togethers, and events held in and outside the church, such as contributing 10,000 annually for the general fund of the church, which basically comes from the collection of our annual dues, having Bible studies, fellowships, and glamping (glamorous camping).
In 2021, through the leadership of Jeanette Rubia, the CYAF committed to reading the entire Bible together through shared facilitation amongst members. Through the guidance of Pastor Ivie, the CYAF members get to ask their deepest questions and also get the chance to praise together and pray for one another.
Prior to the pandemic, it was a challenge to gather the young adults due to their very busy schedules. But because of the pandemic, the Bible study initiatives were rejuvenated due to the convenience of the online platform. The PEC CYAF has finally and successfully established a rhythm to ensure the spiritual nourishment of young adults.
Most members also participate in other ministries of the Little by little, in our own capacities, and with the incessant Church such as music ministry, mission outreach, and even in help of the Divine, PEC CYAF persist in bolstering Bishop the leadership level. Additionally, PEC CYAF participated in Bolocon’s vision for the young adults: the promotion of the wider judicatories, with Bethlehem Ercia having been elected ministry and the mission of our Lord Jesus Christ. as Secretary of the CYAF Conference in 2019 until present, as she is also an officer of the SLJA CYAF and Marge Cadeliña the So, help us, God. Vice-Chairperson not only in PEC Council but also, in Laguna

CWA
Church Women’s Association c b
By: Sor Maraan It is through God’s grace that the church’s Christian Women’s Association (CWA) has become a vessel of hope and joy to the church and community.
a
In 2018, the organization spearheaded an outreach ministry where school supplies were distributed to underprivileged children in Mauban, Quezon.
52
Furthermore, the CWA was at the forefront of the church’s Prison Ministry held at the Women’s Correctional Institution in San Pedro, Laguna, wherein the Gospel was shared and hygienic kits were distributed to the incarcerated women and prison officers last 2018 and 2019.
The CWA has also financially supported the needs of the church through meaningful and fun-filled projects. Its project “Karera sa Basura” encouraged families to contribute by collecting recyclable clutter from their homes. This project has become successful in raising funds for the church by converting scrap materials and other acceptable items into monetary incentives.

Another exciting and fundgenerating activity is the organization’s “Raffle a Cake” where cakes of varying flavors and sizes are raffled off as prizes to participating members.
e
To deepen their relationship with God and one another, the CWA organizes fellowships usually done during birthday celebrations, or any family occasion of its members. These fellowships allow the women to grow more in faith as they study the Word, share their stories and carry each other’s burdens as sisters in Christ.
The CWA prays that God will continue to provide opportunities that will strengthen women’s spiritual health as they connect their lives to Jesus, to the church and the community.

Although the UCM is barely visible during this time of pandemic, it still has the burning desire to serve the church and to continue the ministry of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. May God bless UCM of UCCP-Pacita.

We are the Seniors, the Happy Seniors, We are the enthusiastic Seniors of PEC! Armed with strong faith in the Lord and assured of His promises of abiding love and faithfulness, the seniors are toiling on. Not even this pandemic can deter us from serving God and others while observing health protocols, we just keep on doing what we have to do. By: Marilyn Alar The UCCP-Pacita UCSCA was organized by a handful of the elderly of the church in 2000. The few men and women were active leaders in the life and ministry of the church. Their strong faith in God and their wisdom gained through experience were their contribution and legacy to the whole church. We are the next set of seniors and we are grateful for the example of lives set by our older members. They may be gone but we try our best to follow in their footsteps by actively participating in church activities and accepting responsibilities as leaders of the church. This pandemic has restricted us from pursuing our goals for nearly two years now; nonetheless, we have braved our way in bringing to life our plans and objectives as an organization. We thank the Lord for His abiding love and faithfulness for leading us this far in our journey as part of the UCCP-Pacita family.

MusicMinistry By: Hannie Lee Maraan
The Lord has provided meaningful opportunities for the church members to enhance their God-given musical talents through the Music Ministry’s activities and vital participation in worship services.
On proclaiming the Gospel through music
The Music Ministry has been an integral part of the worship services of the church. The church choir, “Coro Santuario,” and Praise & Worship Team have been of service to the Lord by spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ through ushering the congregation in singing hymns, and contemporary praise and worship songs.

Aside from active participation in worship services, the Music Ministry has also been robust in orchestrating concerts led by different choir conductors through the years to further spread God’s Word.
Due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it became unfeasible for the Music Ministry, which was dominated by the youth, to hold weekly practices. Through the fervent service and leadership of Rev. Ivie Francisquete-Apole, different church recognized-organizations offered songs through online collaborative anthems. With this, church members, both young and old, experienced recording videos of themselves in a desire to sing together despite the distance. Choir and band members also made efforts to come up with collaborative anthems and praise and worship videos during the 34th anniversary celebration of the church and Christmas worship service in 2020.
Amidst the pandemic, the church was able to provide avenues for its members to use their talents and bring back the glory to the Lord through the gift of music.
Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

The Music Ministry organized Christmas Cantatas in 2016 and 2017 to generate funds for the acquisition of a keyboard and for the retired church workers of the Northeast Southern Tagalog Conference respectively. On honing musical knowledge and talents for the Lord
Through the leadership of Bro. Rudy Babiera in 1996 and Sis. Louise Alitagtag-Bueta in 2009, the Music Ministry offered music lessons to church members who were interested in discovering and honing their God-given talents. After finishing a series of training, the young church musicians showcased their talents through recitals held at the church. In 2016, the Music Ministry offered a two-part workshop on Music Theory led by Sis. Hannie Maraan. The goal of the workshop was to provide lectures and hands-on applications such as note-reading, sight-singing, and part-singing. Not only did the musical literacy and skills of the music ministers flourish over time, but more so their commitment and confidence in leading the congregation in worship through music.

Poems A New Chapter by Summer Gail A. Alar
This year has been quite hectic But it has also been pretty frolic. Brothers and sisters from all around, Let us make a joyful sound. As we start a new year, Let us welcome it with cheer. We may not be together, But we are in spirit forever. Let us open our hearts, So that we may do our parts. Be faithful to the Lord And let His word be adored As we finish this year Let us end it with no fear. As we open a new chapter, Let’s hope things get better
Quarantine by Summer Gail A. Alar
Not all roses are red Not Violets be blue, I want this quarantine to end, So I can see you. I lay in bed and think, ”We aren’t at the brink, We will win this fight, If we use all our might!” The world became a better place When we last saw each other face to face. Our frontliners are here to lead So let’s just listen and have no greed. Let’s discover new ways of fun, So that we don’t have to run, We shouldn’t make the frontliners stressed Let’s just thank God that we’re blessed.

God’s Love
My Brothers Love by markee v. rojo
by markee v. rojo
Many , miracles happen because of mercy, And all of them are the things we need To be jolly. We don’t love only one, We love everyone, No one will suffer if we listen To the Lord. And our love is like a cord, We practice and practice how To obey Him, And if you are trapped at the dim, He will give you light to be seen.
A Happy Spark
by Manuel Marben S. Alar
Once there was a SPARK, that came from the DARK, At first it was so SHY, because it can’t IGNITE He tried, and tried and TRIED, to become a big, bright LIGHT. Until he was so TIRED and became teary-EYED He just sat down and REST because he’s done and gave his BEST Then he REALIZED that it was his teary-EYES That made his body WET until there’s no spark LEFT. So he learned to stop to CRY and let his body DRY And he rubbed his front and BACK to make the Spark go on TRACK With joy he tried AGAIN and there it all BEGAN He became a big, bright STAR that we see from near to FAR. So, let’s always be HAPPY and keep the star in us SHINY
Happy birthday kuya Eib! I wish you like my poem. I love you. From Ate Markee.
A brother who guides me His love is like a full sea. If I’m lost, he’ll find me If I’m sick, he will pray for me. I always see him smile at me Like a love of an innocent brother I love the way he always bothers. Love is eternal, his caring is perpetual He always bothers, because he’s my beloved brother On the point we’re fighting, But our hearts are always singing Because I love you I never become blue I’m grateful, I’m faithful, I’m happy of you, I always have a clue Because this is my brother’s love.

As a grandmother, I thought hopelessly of what John and his brother Euan’s future would be. I know in such a circumstance, our faith sometimes falters and we forget that God is the only one who plans what is best for us. I tried my best with earnest prayers to persuade John to bring back his trust and love for God, be at peace knowing that his father is safe and sheltered in the arms of God. Upon realizing how he is being loved, forgiven, and cared for, he

accepted God’s call and preached during the Children’s Sunday Worship in our local church, UCCP-Pacita. For now, we are still grieving but we have accepted that God has a purpose for what happened to my son and in His time, He will reveal it to us. We are just waiting and listening to His voice for hope and assurance.

UCCP

We believe in one God Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer of ev’ry one’s life; In Jesus Christ God became human and rules as Lord of Lords, in Spirit God Guides us all along
As persons we are created reflecting God’s image. The Lord made us stewards of the world. The Church is the Body of Christ, redeemed and reconciled, entrusted with God’s own ministry.

The Bible is God’s revelation in hist’ry and in Christ. A faithful witness to God’s work. To guide and illumine believers and build them up in faith, equip them to witness to the world.
The Kingdom of God is present where faith in Christ is shared, where healing is given to the sick; where food is bestowed to the hungry and light to the blind and freedom for captives and oppressed.
for 1st and 4th stanzas only REFRAIN That’s why we are UCCP, for we are taught what the Lord has said; To live a life in community with God and all, Assured of life even after death, no more sorrow and no more defeat, Theres only love, justice and (1st stanza) peace, all creation new. (4th stanza) peace, UCCP!
O God of our past, our present and our future, redeemed by your loving power and sustained by your grace, we are able to gather joyfully once again, celebrating the life and witness of our beloved Church. As we toil on bearing the message of light and hope to all people, please fill us with a vision for what we could be; give us hope for our congregation and our community, help us take choices that lead to life and further use us for your glory. O God of our past, our present, and our future, in times of uncertainty, inadequacies, and frailty we so often fall into worries and fears. Please show us the birth and overtures of your saving power from every fearful and upsetting encounter. Remind us to consider where our priorities and our devotion lie. Move us to uphold how perseverance and stewardship matter, as you eventually fill us with hope in the realities of your kingdom. O God of our past, our present and our future, may we walk faithfully into the path of service you’ve set for us knowing that you are always with us, assure us of your guiding grace. Please continue to bless our lives together, that we may endure serving you and giving you praise. All these, to you we entrust, in the name of the Holy Triune God: Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, Amen.
