Science program in UCA has been accredited by the ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) Computing Accreditation Commission since 2006.

National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a $325,000 grant to the Department of Computer Science at the UCA to establish Arkansas’ first computer sciencerelated “Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)” site. UCA is one of seven newly selected REU program encourages talented undergraduate students to pursue health informatics in the next three years. student team on Software Design placed third in the National Final of the 2011 Microsoft Imagine Cup. This year, 74,000 students from 400 different schools participated in the competition. The team competed against students from Harvard, Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, Arizona State University, University of California-Los Angeles, and others.
