UAOS was founded in 1988 to represent administrators working in OUSD. Unions have been instrumental in protecting workers and giving them power and voice. Many people work without the benefit of this collective power but there has been a resurgence of grassrootsunionorganizingintheUS resulting in the creation of new unions. Examples of this include workers at Starbucks and Amazon. Here in California, two school districts in Southern California formed new administrators unions last year because they recognized the value of unionization.

Delta Dental D&P Maximum Waiver FAQ
TO: Delta Dental Participants
DATE: 10/30/2024
Q: A: What is the D&P Maximum Waiver?
The D&P Maximum Waiver allows you and your covered dependents to seek covered diagnostic and preventive dental services without counting against your annual maximum. In effect, this increases coverage.
Q: A: What services apply to the D&P Maximum Waiver?
Diagnostic and preventive services include routine exams, routine cleanings, bitewing xrays, and full mouth x-rays.
Q: A: Do I get an extra dental x-ray or cleaning?
The D&P Maximum Waiver does not change the allowed cleanings or x-rays covered under your plan, but it helps you stretch your dental coverage further when you receive routine preventive or diagnostic services. Diagnostic and preventive services are not counted toward the annual maximum.
Q: A: How many cleanings are covered each year?
Delta Dental covers two cleanings or a dental procedure that includes a cleaning each calendar year. If you are pregnant during this time, Delta Dental may pay for an additional cleaning.
Q: A: What are the dental plan benefits?
Delta Dental pays 70% of the PPO contract allowance for covered diagnostic, preventive, basic, and major services during the first year of eligibility. The coinsurance percentage will increase by 10% each year (to a maximum of 100%) for each enrollee, regardless of usage. If an enrollee becomes ineligible for benefits and later regains eligibility, the percentage will drop back to 70%.
Q: A:
How do I find a dentist?
Visit a dentist in the PPO network to maximize your savings. Find a PPO dentist at deltadentalins.com.
This is not evidence of coverage For more information, please go to deltadentalins.com or call Delta Dental at (888) 335-8227.
Get preventive care without hitting your maximum
Thinking of skipping a cleaning? Think again. With Delta Dental’s D&P Maximum Waiver®, you can get your diagnostic and preventive care without affecting your maximum. You’ll keep your mouth healthy — and save benefit dollars for when you really need them.
What services are included?
Diagnostic and preventive dental services may include routine exams, cleanings, x-rays and related treatments as defined by your dental plan.
How does it help me save?
The cost of exams, cleanings and x-rays can add up Without the D&P Maximum Waiver, these procedures would eat into your maximum. With the waiver, you’ll have more of your maximum left over. That can help you cover expensive treatment down the road
This example assumes an annual maximum of $1600 with 100% coverage for two routine exams, cleanings and x-rays at a Delta Dental dentist Please review your plan booklet for specific details about your coverage
