CONTINUING EDUCATION UNIT

The Continuing Education Unit at UAM® offers a complete portfolio of diplomas, courses, seminars, workshops, forums and conferences that promote improvement programs, development of skills, and build competencies in the community, promoting training and learning applicable at professional and personal levels.

Continuing education unit promotes the acquisition of knowledge through training in face-to-face, blended and virtual classroom modalities offered to different organizations and the community in general at regional and national level.

Currently, more than 350 programs are offered, which are academically supported by UAM® departments and aimed at attracting different professional profiles within companies and / or institutions of the public and private sector, and community in general.

LEARN SPANISH IN THE ANDEAN REGION

Manizales is a city and municipality in central Colombia and the capital of the Department of Caldas. It is also located in the Colombian coffee region, near to the Nevado del Ruiz volcano.

Nowadays the city is the main center for the production of Colombian coffee and an important hub for higher educational institutions.

Culture

The most important cultural events held in Manizales are city’s International Festival of Theater, one of the biggest theater events in Latin America and the annual Manizales Jazz Festival which gather jazz musicians from all over the world.

Another important cultural event is the Manizales Fair, which began in 1951 with the city’s first Centenary. Initially the event consisted of large bullfights and typical "Manolas" parades (Spanish parade). Due to its huge popularity, more shows and presentations have since been included, such as International Coffee Beauty Pageant which, together with the bullfights, is the main attraction of the Fair. Other activities that can be enjoyed during the Fair are horseback riding, parades, traditional presentations, "Trovas", concerts showcasing national and international musicians and bands, exhibitions and cultural shows. The Feria de Manizales (Manizales Fair) is the second biggest celebration in the country, after the Barranquilla Carnival.
