Meet the Performers
Nitai Feldman, 19, was born in Jerusalem and raised in New York City. He studied at the Special Music School in New York and Thelma Yellin School of the Arts in Givatayim, taking lessons at the Lucy Moses School and the Givatayim Conservatory. He has performed in venues such as the DiMenna Center, Merkin Hall and Weill Hall in New York City, Recital Hall, Ford Hall and Auer Hall at Indiana University and the Real Collegio in Lucca, Italy. He has played in masterclasses with artists such as Imogen Cooper, Till Fellner and Wei-Yi Yang. Besides solo performing, he is an active collaborator and avid chamber musician. He has participated in the New York Youth Symphony chamber program and has played in various chamber groups in New York and at Indiana University. As part of the Mediterranean Trio he participated in the Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival in Lucca, Italy. He has also sung in choirs, including the Thelma Yellin Chorus performance in Berlin and the IU University Chorale. A recipient of the William Gammon Henry Scholarship and a member of the Hutton Honors College, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying with Professor Evelyne Brancart.
Julia Jones is a 19-year-old violinist from New York City. She began her studies at the age of 5 as a student of Viktor Basis at the Kaufman Music Center and continued to work with him throughout her school years. Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree at The Juilliard School, studying with professors Li Lin and Itzhak Perlman, and is also under the mentorship of professors Viktor Tretyakov and Natalia Likhopoi.
Julia has participated in many prestigious festivals and programs such as the International Music Academy in Cremona, International Academy of Music in Castelnuovo di Carfagnana, Crans-Montana Classics Masterclasses, Concertate Masterclasses, Kaufman Music Center’s SummerFest, Taipei Music Academy and Festival, and the Perlman Music Program.
Julia has also taken part in esteemed events such as the annual gala for the Kaufman Music Center, the Dorothy DeLay Masterclass Series, the Online Shlomo Mintz String Academy, and Joshua Bell’s “Musical Evening” fundraising event. In 2019, she was invited to perform the Bach Double Concerto with European Youth Spirit Orchestra (EYSO) in various locations around Italy with conductor Igor Coretti Kuret. Julia has also given solo recitals at Christ Church, NYC, Ann Goodman Hall at the Kaufman Music Center, Schloss Hohenprießnitz in Germany, and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, Italy. She is also a part of the NGO Committee on Migration (devoted to the protection of migrants’ human rights), YouthArt Force (dedicated to curating art-based fundraising events for various worthwhile causes), and the Global Creative Initiative (a nonprofit music relief organization for youth in need worldwide).
Since a young age Julia has participated in many national and international competitions. She was the winner of MTNA Competition, the VIVO International Music Competition, the Kaufman Music Center Concerto Competition, performed at Merkin Hall with orchestra conducted by Nathan Hetherington, the Special Music School High School Concerto Competition, performed J.Sibelius Violin Concerto with Park Avenue Chamber Symphony Orchestra conducted by David Bernard, the Washington National Youth Competition, the 3rd Oskar Rieding International Competition for Young Musicians, the Lyra Competition, and the 7th New York International Music Concours. She is also a laureate of the Second International Viktor Tretyakov Competition.
Julia has participated in masterclasses with Dmitri Berlinsky, Felix Andrievsky, Vadim Gluzman, Catherine Cho, Shlomo Mintz, Cihat Askin, Sungsic Yang, Almita Vamos, Natalia Likhopoi, Viktor Tretiakov, Cho-Liang Lin, Gregory Kalinovsky, Sheryl Staples, Philippe Quint, Ani Kavafian, Midori, Hilary Hahn. Besides solo performing, Julia is also an avid chamber musician, having performed in Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall, The Juilliard School’s Morse and Paul Hall, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, and Lincoln Center’s Bruno Walter Auditorium, with various chamber groups.
