From the Chairman— So, here we are almost at the end of 2017; in many KU3A ways at least, a successful 12 months. I’m very pleased to announce that, following last month’s appeals Peter Baker has agreed to take on the role of Publicity Officer and a surplus keyboard has found its way to Mike Fuller. 2018 will still see us appealing for help “front of house”, however, and the Choir looking for another accompanist. What else will the New Year bring? Well, the monthly meeting in March (the 20th; closer than you think) will be Hobbies and Interests Day - a chance for ordinary members, as well as Group Leaders and Committee, to show off what interests them perhaps beyond or within U3A. You won’t have to stand up and give a presentation; all you will need is a table in the body of the hall, to display your stamp albums, fretwork, lapidary, bonsai, robots, crochet, handbells, jewelry, cards, cakes, paintings, poetry, whatever, and possibly sell some of your items. We have done this once before, but some years ago, and we have had lots of new members since then. So far, we have had some response but have space for lots more. If you’d like to take part, please contact Di Tebbutt as soon as may be to book a table. Meanwhile it remains only for me to wish you a very Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year.
