rema usmenoj predaji sredinom 19. stoljeća osmišljen je recept za raskošno bogatu, ali laganu bakarsku tortu.Uz svijetli i tamni biskvit, njezin najfiniji dio je krema od oraha, što nam govori da su bakarski patriciji živjeli na visokoj nozi jer su orasi, kao i danas, bili skupa namirnica. Recept za ovu autentičnu slasticu prenosio se s koljena na koljeno sve do današnjih dana kada je Turistička zajednica Grada Bakra u suradnji s Pekarom Vrbnik oživjela 150 godina stari recept obitelji Roberti. Zasladite šetnju Bakrom zalogajem koji vjerno čuva slatku aromu bogate bakarske prošlosti.

Prije no što se nagradite Bakarskom tortom predlažemo da razgledate Gornji grad, stari dio Bakra, gdje su imućni Bakrani živjeli okruženi znamenitostima poput Frankopanskog kaštela, konkatedrale sv. Andrije ap. te Turska i Rimska kuća.

Before you reward yourself with Bakar Cake, we reccomend visiting Upper Town, the old part of Bakar where wealthy Bakar inhabitants used to live in the vicinity of landmarks such as Frankopan Castle, the Concathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle and Turkish and Roman house.

ccording to oral tradition, a recipe for a lavish, but light Bakar Cake was designed in the middle of the 19th century. Along with the light and dark biscuit, its finest part is the walnut cream which tells us that Bakar patricians lived it up for walnuts were, and still are, very expensive foodstuff. The recipe for this authentic dessert was passed down from generation to generation till today, when BakarTourist Board in cooperation with Vrbnik Bakery revived the 150-year-old recipe of Roberti family. Sweeten your walk along the town of Bakar which faithfully preserves the sweet aroma of its rich past.

adaleko poznati pjenušac Bakarska vodica obično se pio kod velikih slavlja, a mnogobrojne su generacije njime nazdravljale u važnim životnim trenutcima. Nekada se pio i na bečkom dvoru, a danas ga možete kušati pod imenom Stara Bakarska vodica. Poznati pjenušac proizvodio se mukotrpnim radom praputnjarskih težakinja i težaka na područjima suhozidnih vinograda, Bakarskih prezida, koji su nastali zahvaljujući vladarici Mariji Tereziji. Prihodi od prodaje Bakarske vodice i vina donijeli su Praputnjaku kulturni i društveni napredak dostojan gradskih sredina. Impozantne prezidi zauzimaju čitavu sjeveroistočnu stranu strmih padina Bakarskog zaljeva, a proglašeni su i spomenikom kulture 1972. godine kao etnografska zona Bakarske prezidi - Takala. PZ Dolčina je 2002. godine pokrenula revitalizaciju prezida te su se, od ukupne površine nekadašnjih prezida od čak 42 hektara, obnovila samo 2 hektara vinograda Takala koji se nalaze na katastarskom području Praputnjaka. Svakako treba spomenuti da Bakarsku vodicu po starinskoj metodi i u vlastitom podrumu u Praputnjaku proizvodi i obitelj Antić.

well-known sparkling wine Bakarska vodica was usually drunk when having great celebrations and many generations toasted important life moments drinking it. It used to be drunk at the Viennese court,too. Today can be tasted under the name Stara Bakarska vodica. The wellknown sparkling wine was produced by male and female laborers of Praputnjak in dry-stone vineyard areas of Bakar, created thanks to the ruler Maria Theresa. Revenues from sale of Bakarska vodica and wine brought Praputnjak cultural and social progress worthy of urban areas. Impressive drystone walls occupy the entire northeastern side of the steep slopes of Bakar Bay. They were declared a cultural monument in 1972 as the ethnographic zone of Bakar Drystone Walls Takala. In 2002 Agricultural Cooperative Dolčina initiated a revitalization of draystone walls. From the total drystone area, an area of 42 hectares, only 2 hectares of Takala vineyards located in the cadastral area of Praputnjak were renewed. It should be mentioned that Antić family produce Bakarska vodica according to the old-fashioned method in their own cellar in Praputnjak.

riča o bakarskom baškotu veže se uz život pomoraca koji je, kako kažu, kruh sa sedam kora. Smatra se da su pecivo u Bakar donijeli ribari iz talijanske luke Chioggie. Ovo dva puta pečeno suho pecivo bilo je u prošlosti zbog svoje trajnosti česti zalogaj bakarskih pomoraca na plovidbama diljem svijeta jer, iako bez umjetnih dodataka, ima rok trajanja od čak šest mjeseci. Miris baškota za mnoge je Bakrane miris djetinjstva jer su ga često jeli za doručak uz šalicu bijele kave. Zbog svog značaja, proglašen je službenim suvenirom Grada Bakra pa ga u keramičkoj verziji možete ljeti pronaći u lokalnoj suvenirnici. Svoj meki ili tvrdi, ručno rađeni baškot potražite u pekarnici „Bakarski baškot“ u kojoj se dnevno, prema tajnoj recepturi, ispeče i do 1000 komada! Tamo ćete pronaći i plaketu sa Zlatnom medaljom za izvrsnost, koju je bakarski baškot osvojio još davne 1919. godine u Parizu.

ZANIMLJIVOST Kako bi se provjerila njegova kvaliteta, baškot se bacao s visine od 2 metra na pod. Kvalitetnijim se smatrao onaj koji bi se razbio u više komada.

CURIOSITY To check the quality of Bakar Baškot, it used to be thrown from a height of 2 meters down to the floor. The one which broke into more pieces was considered to be of better quality.

Walk along the waterfront, along Primorje, the main street in Bakar, just as Bakar gentlemen and captains used to do. Take a break in one of the cafes and restaurants enjoying the tranquility of Bakar Bay and, according to tradition, dip your Baškot in the coffee or wine!

he story of Bakar baškot is connected to the life of sailors, which, as the saying goes, is the bread with seven crusts. The pastries are believed to have been brought to Bakar by fishermen from the Italian port of Chioggia. This twice-baked dry pastry has been in a past a frequent bite of Bakar sailors on voyages around the world. Although without artificial additives, it has a shelf life of as much as six months. The smell of Bakar Baškot is for many locals a childhood scent because they often ate it for breakfast with a cup of white coffee. Due to its importance, it has been declared an official souvenir of the Town of Bakar. It can be found in summer in ceramic version in a local souvenir shop. Look for your handmade soft or hard Baškot in the bakery “Bakarski baškot” where according to a secret recipe, up to 1000 pieces are baked daily! You will also see a plaque Gold Medal for Excellence Bakar Baškot won back in 1919 in Paris.
