THE ST. LOUIS FUSION REACTOR FACILITY BRINGS THE CITY INTO THE FUTURE WITH ADVANCED MULTI-FUNCTIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE. COMBINING A POWER PLANT, TROPICAL PALM GARDEN, SMALL AQUATICS CENTER AND A RESTAURANT, THIS PLACE BECOMES A HUB FOR REDEVELOPMENT AND GROWTH. THE IDEA OF INTERWEAVING DIFFERENT PROGRAMS IS DERIVED FROM THE POWER PRODUCTION METHOD ITSELF WHERE ATOMS ARE FUSED TO CREATE SOMETHING NEW AND POWERFUL. THE POWER PLANT SERVES AS PART OF THE ENERGY PRODUCTION INFRASTRUCTURE AS WELL AS PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE. THE PROGRAM COMBINATIONS PROVES THAT THIS METHOD OF ENERGY PRODUCTION IS SO SAFE THAT WE CAN RE-IMAGINE THE IDEA OF INDUSTRIAL POWER MANUFACTURING. WE CAN NOW INHABIT AND GROW INTO THE VERY FACILITY THAT IS PROVIDING US ENERGY EVERYDAY AND EXPERIENCE THE TECHNOLOGY FIRST HAND.

PROJECT OVERVIEW PRRO
TODAY THERE IS A HOUSING ISSUE IN ZURICH, SWITZERLAND. MOST OF THE LAND IN ZURICH HAS BEEN DEVELOPED WHICH LEAVES THE CITY NO NEW ROOM TO BUILD NEW BUILDINGS. THE SOLUTION FOR THIS CONSTRAINT IS TO BUILD UP. IN THE PAST 10 YEAR ZURICH HAS BUILT MANY HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS FOR MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS. THE MOST PROMINENT AND DEMANDING IS HOUSING. THERE IS A WHOLE BOOMING MARKET IN ZURICH JUST FOR HIGH-RISE HOUSING DESIGN. THIS BUILDING IS DESIGNED TO FIT INTO THAT CURRENT DYNAMIC. THE LOT WAS AN UNDER USED SITE IN THE CENTER OF AN AREA OF TOWN THAT IS GOING THROUGH SOME DRAMATIC CHANGES. THIS 32 STORY TOWER IS DESIGNED FOR A MIXED-USE OCCUPANCY IN MIND. THIS WOULD ALLOW THE BUILDING TO ACT AS A CONNECTOR TO THE BUSINESS LIFE AND THE PERSONAL LIFE OF THE CITIZENS.

THIS SYMBIOTIC RELATIONSHIP CREATES A RESILIENCY TO PREPARE FOR INEVITABLE NATURAL DISASTERS IN MISSOURI AND THE SURROUNDING MEGA-REGION. HYPERLINK PROVIDES THE RESOURCES, TIME AND SCALE NECESSARY TO RELIEVE ANY EMERGENCY SCENARIO THROUGH AN INTERCONNECTED NETWORK OF EFFICIENT RESOURCES AND HIGH-SPEEDS. THE HYPERLINK SYSTEM PLANS TO UTILIZE THE HIGH SPEEDS AND CONTAINED ENVIRONMENT OF HYPERLOOP TECHNOLOGY TO CREATE A RESILIENT INFRASTRUCTURE WHICH PROVIDES BOTH VITAL TRANSIT AND EMERGENCY RELIEF FROM INEVITABLE NATURAL AND HUMAN-MADE DISASTERS.

A BIPARTISAN PANEL FORMED OF LAWMAKERS, PRIVATE SECTOR LEADERS AND HIGHER EDUCATION FACULTY RELEASED A DOCUMENT OUTLINING A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE FUTURISTIC TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGY CALLED HYPERLOOP. I WAS BE HIRED TO DESIGN A CONCEPT OF WHAT THIS TECHNOLOGY WOULD LOOK LIKE CROSSING THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THIS STUDY, WHICH SHOWCASES MY WORK ON THE COVER PAGE, OUTLINES THE STATE’S INTENT OF DEVELOPING A 13-15 MILE TEST TRACK, COSTING AROUND $30-$40 MILLION FOR 1 MILE, TO ACHIEVE SAFETY CERTIFICATION AND IDENTIFY POTENTIAL FUNDING AND FINANCING STRATEGIES. THEIR INTENT IS TO ESTABLISH MISSOURI AS THE HYPERLOOP LEADER FOR DEVELOPING THIS TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FUTURE. THE PROPOSED ROUTE BETWEEN ST. LOUIS AND KANSAS CITY WOULD COST AROUND $7-$10 BILLION TO CONSTRUCT BUT WOULD ALLOW YOU TO TRAVEL TO ONE END IN UNDER 30 MINUTES WHILE TRAVELING AT SPEEDS AROUND 700 MPH.

LIGHTING CAN HELP TO BRING ABOUT A SENSE OF CALM AND PEACEFULNESS IN A SACRED SETTING. LIGHTING CAN HELP TO ADD MYSTERY IN A THEATRICAL PRODUCTIO N. AND, LIGHTING CAN CAUSE US TO STRONGLY DISLIKE A ROOM WHICH WE WOULD OTHERWISE FIND APPEALING . OUR MIND PROCESSES THE VISUAL STIMULUS TO PRODUCE THESE SORTS OF RESPONSES. IN THE TROMSO CLIMATE RESEARCH FACILITY THERE ARE PLENTY OF SPACES THAT PROVOKE A CERTAIN ATTITUDE. THE EXPERIENCE O F THIS BUILDING IS EXCLUSIVELY AFFECTED BY THE TIME OF DAY, TIME OF YEAR, AND VARIOUS C ONTROLLED OPENINGS IN THE BUILDING.
