hristmas came early for about 35 children at Badisa in Elsies River when they received Santa Shoeboxes from Parow police, together with the Biomedical Research and Innovation Platform. The gifts were handed over on Thursday
12 December at Badisa’s offices in 6th Street. According to Lt Col Kobus van Dyk, the shoeboxes contained toiletries, clothing, toys and sweets. “Our personnel and volunteers bought all of the items. The volunteers became involved in the project through word of mouth. This is the first time Parow police was involved in a project of this nature.”

It was really special,” says Lesch. “Our children don’t have the same privileges that many other children have. “We are so grateful to everyone who contributed and made this day one to remember,” Lesch adds.
